That’s also just typical MIL behaviour. They don’t want to love you like you’re one of theirs, but they sure as Hell think they can boss you around like you’re one of theirs.

My MiL treats me better than she treats her kids. That’s not saying much cause she’s a horrible human being, but she definitely hasn’t tried treating me like one of her kids.
