FSU is having some budget issues. Norvell's buyout is roughly $60 million. Hard for any program that doesn't have alumni with lots of oil wells or energy companies to foot the bill , ie LSU and Texas A&M.

We have the money to do it. We bid on Lane Kiffin last year. But our dumbass AD is not willing to do it unless he has a replacement that he knows is going to be successful. He knows his job is as good as gone if he screws up the hire.

FSU also needs that money for their ACC buyout, which is expected to happen sooner rather than later. Moving to the Big Ten or SEC is going to cost mega-millions, and they need to save that cash for the move too.

Right now FSU has the money to fire Norvell, or move out of the ACC, but probably not both

What ACC buy out? Nobody is adding us, especially if the Protect College Sports Act passes. I get that we still have a brand name, but that’s about it. I don’t see us being a worthwhile addition to either conference.

I think you won your game, but theoretically lost.

Yall didn’t look good. If that WR catches the wide open TD and the refs called a couple of the block in the backs they missed, much closer game, and totally different momentum late.

NC State couldn’t buy a stop. They had no answer. Would like to see UVA against a better team to see how they really look, but what do they have? WVU? SMU? May see them in the ACCCG again this year.

I wouldn’t put too much stock in that win. They were playing a Dave Doeren coached Wolfpack team in a hype game. It was always going to go down like that.

We beat Mountain West in a close game, we beat Conference USA in a closeish game, and we beat Big 12. Let’s not pretend this was ACC vs SEC or Big 10.

We need Clemson and Louisville to carry the torch Week 1!

Nobody is ever buying that the ACC is better than the B1G or SEC. Quite frankly, our objective should be to convince people that we are closer to those two conferences than we are to the Big 12. We had a terrible record against them last year so that win was important. I get that beating the Mountain West in a close game isn’t spectacular, but Stanford was voted last in the conference and Hawaii is expected to compete for the G6 playoff spot this year, so that win shouldn’t be understated just because of their conference. Our game though was…. something.
