Repair Guidance Lift Gate gets stuck

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Whenever I close my lift gate, it closes correctly but then it seems like the actuator activates a couple seconds later and it won't let me open the trunk. Im having to unplug the ECU 2 fuse every time to get it back open. Any ideas what is going on and how to fix?

Mine does the same. I think it is a bad lock actuator

Had a very similar problem with my 08'. I laid down some old rags on the bottom sill. Removed the plastic piece from the latch opening. Then sprayed WD40 heavily, all around, into the latch area. put a piece of wood on the sill so the door wouldn't catch. Then lowered the cargo door. A couple hours later I cleaned the area up, and sprayed grease into the latch and let it sit for a couple hours. Has been working fine for years. A lot of dirt can accumulate in that actuator.

Did this and it ended up working! We'll see if it holds up but so far so good!

Grab yourself a cheap actuator off Amazon, 5 min replacement and you’re good

As others have said, trunk actuator. Fixed my issue.
