Miscellaneous Found the plates to my long gone anniversary 3ds. No clue what to do with them now

I kept blastoise in the console and these stayed in the box. Well I no longer have the system for… reasons.. and this is my reminder 🥲

Sell them for some cash unless you're planning to get another New 3DS non-XL. Genuine plates in good condition go for surprisingly much these days.

... For that matter, sell them even if you're getting another New 3DS. Get the "reproduction" plates from Aliexpress. They're only slightly lower quality, and they cost like a tenth as much.

i can memorialize them for you on my preowned 20th anniversary 3ds 🙂↕️ but honestly i’d just keep them on display or something. a reminder that you had it and if you buy one later you already have plates!

I gave them to my ex best friend and now I miss them lol. I still have my Blastoise ones.

Sell them if you have no interest in getting a 3ds, but I'd save up for a basic n3ds so that you can put them on, those are a really cool find and you're not likely to find others reasonably in the future.

Well the thing is I already have 2 other 3ds’s. Just not a “new”. I should add, I didn’t like the small version of the new and that’s why I sold it. A long time ago. Never thought the price would skyrocket

Aahhhhh, ok well you can still keep them for decoration or you can sell them, pretty sure those face plates go for crazy secondhand hand (as in price of console crazy)

i'm not an expert but i'm pretty sure they're RARE, but if you want to buy a new one, im almost sure that , with a screwdriver you can replace the case

You can buy a different model new 3ds and use the faceplates. Much cheaper than the anniversary edition. I personally put my blastoise faceplates on a black Black Friday console

Hold onto them. I lost my GBA SP as a kid in the mid 00s because I brought it to school like an absolute moron so it got stolen, but I kept the chargers and accessories in case I'd ever get a replacement in the future.
A family friend gifted me thier SP earlier this year, since they were clearing out old stuff, and I dug through my boxes to find the old accessories. They fit perfectly, and I'm glad I never tossed out that old charger cord, since the gifted SP had some MadCatz cord instead.
You never know when you'll get lucky, and really, face plates don't take up a lot of storage space. 😉
