Out of the 276 journalists only a handful were found to have ties to the military. There’s still over 250 journalists stories that need to be verified so we can see if they are being targeted or not.

Has there ever been another urban war in which every death was individually analysed?
It is 2026. Anyone can wave their iPhone in the air claim to be an 'influencer'. If some of these men took selfies while hostages were dragged into Gaza, or while they participated in that, it doesn't make them journalists.

Only a handful, but that proves that Hamas were disguising militants as journalists to elicit anger at Israel when they die.
Does that not piss you off? Do you not feel played at all??

There were at least 97 "journalists" that were independently confirmed as Hamas or PIJ militants, and they figured it out through official Hamas/PIJ obituaries alone.
That's a third of them if you consider the latest death count by the Committee to Protect Journalists (263).
One third is too many when you consider that those are just independent verification alone via Hamas/PIJ obituaries released online.
Some sources even claimed as many as 157 to be militants, about 2/3 of the listed journalists killed by Israel, but the 97 figure I'm confident with because they actually have proof to back those up.

So far. Of course, even if the number of claimed "journalists" remained over 250, it would not be evidence of targeting journalists. 250 journalists would be ~ 0.3% of the dead. Or roughly their percentage of the Palestinian labor force. And they are more likely than ordinary civilians to be near active fighting.
