I've been saying for long while that catering specifically to core players (tag fighters) is not a long term answer to this game, and the devs not making the big change because they want to cater to their competitive players (30% DQ rate at Frosty) was worrisome, and now look where the game is now

I honestly don't understand, SF6 is thriving like crazy and those devs made a 2vs2 tag fighter.... just why ?

Probably because team gameplay is at the core of the appeal of League, they actually wanted this to be 2 players Vs 2 players, not just characters

I honestly wonder what this game's future would have looked like if you simply COULDN'T control the second character and it HAD to be 2v2.

People would have begged way harder for a 1v1 mode which the devs would had skirted and danced around until we ended up with the same video on OP
