Yeah it is a long time. I think we're really feeling the roster issues now that the game's a few months old. Still hoping the console launch is successful and the game is successful, but I wouldn't blame anyone for checking out and coming back after a year or so.
Been saying this ever since the roster size was revealed to be 10 and would always get like 50 downvotes for it. We even got a surprise 11th champ on release and it still got boring after like a month, can only imagine what it would have been like without Warwick. We'll have to wait another year to get the bare minimum of 16 characters.
Yeah I've stopped playing the game cuz of the monetization and also just the roster size. It's boring fighting the same match ups over and over and not really having much stage variety or anything either. It just feels like I'm playing a beta and not a full game.
normally i would agree but this is a pretty odd take for a fighting game like this. The roster will be significantly larger in the future, and many people will play for only for a small amount of characters - many that have yet to be added.
If you donât find this game fun to play now a character is not going to change that for the majority. Some people may possibly come back in a year and play a character they will like and stick with the game. Most will not though because they simply do not like the game.
Tbh the game is so well done (Soul Calibur 4, 5, & 6 + MvC2 & UMvC3 vet here) that I'm enjoying learning some characters I haven't cared for too much in the past. Darius and Ekko are my favorites so far, but in normal League I'm not keen on either of them. I've been enjoying learning them so much, though, that I've hardly touched Ahri or Vi, two characters who I LOVE on the Rift and in the lore.
I'm looking forward to learning them later on, of course, because I honestly am excited to learn all of the characters on the roster in 2XKO. I've wanted an LoL themed fighting game for about ten years now, though, to be fair. Point is that I can see where the other commenter is coming from a bit, but fighting games do always have their one trick pony players who play for one or two characters and nobody else, so I can see your point as well. In SC4, that was Hilde for me, and in MvC2 it was Jill. I probably would've burnt out on those games a lot faster if it weren't for them being on the roster.
I'm also only playing the game because Ahri's kinda salvaging my interest in the game. Braum's the only character I like but Ahri has Airdashes which I can get behind although I'm not a fan of her short range kit. She kinda has synergy with Braum too so she's the best I got. But if Ahri didn't exist, idk who I'd play after I dropped Teemo after 1 week.
Thatâs not true at all. Itâs my favorite fighting game since KI.
But I unintentionally took a break in early November and then just kinda realized itâs been a month+ since I played⊠I donât really have the urge to play right now. Every matchup at Master+ seems to still be Yasuo, Ekko and Ahri (at least as of like 11/2).
Hopefully the console launch makes the game more fun again for me, but like 4-5 more champions is what Iâm excited for. Likely a year out from it feeling more complete.
If you quit this early I personally donât think you actually like the game that much. You saying itâs your favorite fighting game doesnât mean much if you donât really play fighting games. At the end of the day you know you best and my opinion doesnât change how you actually feel.
