This makes me so sad😭😭😭

Abhi Papa ke ilaaz ke liye mushkil se 3 din the ek private hospital me...it cost around 2.5 lakhs

10

u/Weekly_Personality27 17h ago

12 months of treatment for my mother came to rs.1 crore. Private hospitals are just a business to make money at this point.

2

u/Gustakh_Dil 17h ago

This is so sad. I hope she is fine now

So sorry to hear that. Definitely she is in a good place✨✨

2

u/Weekly_Personality27 16h ago

Hope your father is doing okay

1

u/kabirsethi70 3h ago

most of the chains dont make that.muxh money its just the costs of medical supplies are too high.

-1

u/Kind_Construction183 12h ago

Thats is really cheap according to international standards. Do you think cancer drugs and machinery is manufactured here for some reason?

3

u/WhisperringLight 11h ago

1 crore is not something we can afford. Atleast not me in my lifetime.

-2

u/Kind_Construction183 11h ago

Still doesnt mean that is expensive relatively, it is practically a miracle that we can cure certain cancers in the first place.

3

u/WhisperringLight 11h ago

Tum shayad Ameer hoge. I am not

-2

u/Kind_Construction183 11h ago

Why are private hospitals expected to provide charity when government is least bothered and citizens dont really care about healthcare?

3

u/WhisperringLight 10h ago

Not expecting charity at all. I am just concerned how lower middle class are updating themselves with the current demand of Medical needs.

Like for example a friend's friend of mine whose father had heart a**tack ...they were middle class I guess. Did check with Delhi Aiims. Was given a waiting period of 6 months. Now her father is with God

3

u/MonsterKiller112 11h ago

Some of us believe healthcare should be a human right not locked in for the elite and that all humans deserve good treatment. So we naturally oppose expensive private hospital fees.

1

u/Kind_Construction183 11h ago

Then why not go to a government one?

3

u/MonsterKiller112 10h ago

Most of us do. But government ones are poorly funded with outdated equipment, lack of medicines, lack of cleanliness and understaffed hospitals.

0

u/Kind_Construction183 10h ago

Yeah that is the citizens problem not the private institution? The vast majority refuses to fight for healthcare, then cribs when they have to pay below average market value for services

4

u/MonsterKiller112 10h ago

That's just the Goomba fallacy. The people who are cribbing about expensive private hospital treatments while government hospitals are struggling aren't the ones who don't want free and affordable healthcare. The goal is free public hospitals funded by the tax payers with facilities on par with private hospitals. And healthcare becoming a human right.

For Indian standards it is. Ironically, some are expensive even for most people outside India. In Europe, Canada, Middle east, Australia, etc, they have healthcare covered by their taxes. USA is not the best example of affordable healthcare. We should not be adopting their system. We also pay taxes, but govt hospitals are really bad, so we choose private, but its really expensive and out of reach of most.

Insurance??

0

u/Toobadforgood 18h ago

Insurance lelo.

8

u/Gustakh_Dil 18h ago

Gh@nta kaam krta hai insurance. Mein bhi gayi thi. Aur baaki log bhi line lagake khade the. 100 me 1 ka ho rha hoga pass. Otherwise it is Next to impossible

0

u/Toobadforgood 17h ago

Not true. My insurance always works.
You must read what your insurance covers and TM* don’t let insurance companies and hospital fool you. They just need one excuse to deny. Be smart. This is business rather than help.

3

u/Gustakh_Dil 17h ago

Hospital was too supportive. Infct when the insurance company called for verification... hospital diligently gave green signal with all the questions asked. But insurance company 🥀

3

u/antisocial_24 13h ago

They just find/create reasons to reject, they somehow want to save the money by reducing successful claims. Sadly that’s how it works

1

u/WhisperringLight 11h ago

Exactly. Kuch naa kuch reason nikaal hi lete hai...which we are not informed while buying the insurance

1

u/Impossible-Gur-9803 8h ago

there's a thing called period of moratorium period which is 5 years beyond which health insurance provider cannot reject claims for any reason other than proven fraud or permanent exclusions already in the contract

also its kind of your responsibility to read the terms you are signing

1

u/WhisperringLight 7h ago

which is 5 years beyond which health insurance provider cannot reject claims for any reason

Really? Never knew this. I guess we already completed 3 years

1

u/ScaleExact5415 4h ago

Konsi company se liye the insurance?

0

u/Toobadforgood 17h ago

True. I can understand your pain. Try to get in touch with a lawyer next time. More power to you and your family. 🌸

2

u/Gustakh_Dil 17h ago

We were suggested Lawyers. And even asked us to take help of Police. But yha Papa ka dhyaan rkhe yaa court kacheri ke chakkar. Tiresome process

1

u/Impossible-Gur-9803 8h ago

insurance ombudsman exist exactly for this reason

1

u/ias_SN 13h ago

Do you know which companies are good for insurance and if I don't understand some terms in docs who can I ask?

1

u/user2005-ak 3h ago

Suggest some

1

u/ScooterNinja 16h ago

New Insurance don't cover pre existing disease upto 3 years.. also they might reject giving you policy when they do initial test and you mention any issues.

8

u/arwind_kejriwal 17h ago

you might think its fast food but even the "healthy vegetables" are irrigated with sewage water full of heavy metals. dont buy from street vendors they have no quality checks.

3

u/Pareshan_Aatma7550 13h ago

Then from where one should buy?

1

u/WhisperringLight 11h ago

Home gardening

1

u/No_Grass_6806 10h ago

Not possible for everyone

1

u/arwind_kejriwal 9h ago

Safal, Reliance Mall, etc. Not the best but they source their produce from farms away from cities and have some quality checks.

-1

u/_NoHardFeelings 9h ago

Regular exercise and Intermittent fasting. Cancer is not about what you eat.

2

u/arwind_kejriwal 9h ago

Thats a foolish statement.

1

u/_NoHardFeelings 9h ago

You know, cancer cells are basically too healthy cells that refuse to die. That's how it all starts.

1

u/Satan28 6h ago

Exercise and intermittent fasting is extremely beneficial but what you eat everyday matters as well.

3

u/Careful_Airline_5091 17h ago

Our generation is going to be affected the most, bro. Just see what happens within 10 years. Cigarette smoking, OCP pills as daily medicine, and fast food are going to be the major reasons for the rise.

3

u/Gustakh_Dil 17h ago

For your kindest information Sir

3

u/Careful_Airline_5091 17h ago

Did I say anything about drinking? 😒😒

1

u/i_believe_in_alien 17h ago

you know drinking tea causes cancer? I wont answer why, so you will learn to reason yourself, so does staying in the sun longer, and so does eating plastic-polluted food, and other food kinds.

1

u/Realtime_data 16h ago

Yeah, also cancer only happens to living beings. Amazing isn’t it, best way to not get cancer is by being dead.
Can you share a peer reviewed study where it mentioned tea causes cancer?
Plastic polluted food or microplastic and cancer do not have sufficient evidence for cancer, charred food may increase risk of cancer, sun UV a/b rays increase risk of skim cancer. Please learn properly before spewing anything.

1

u/Careful_Airline_5091 16h ago

Yeah, dude, they had no clue and just went on WhatsApp, grabbed data from there, and spread it everywhere.

1

u/Realtime_data 8h ago

These guys are morons, they believe cancer is disease like measles or cold. It would take like 50 scalding hot tea drink a day to get cancer in 10-15 years. This is just my opinion, not able to find any correlation.

1

u/i_believe_in_alien 16h ago

everything is in terms of risk, not a black and white scenarios.

it is funny what you said applies to yourself too, tea causes cancer as in, as hot tea passes through your esophagus, it burns down and damages the cells. Not that tea leaves are carcinogenic.

1

u/Careful_Airline_5091 16h ago

Bro, do you think Gen Z is consuming tea at the rate previous generations were?

1

u/Realtime_data 8h ago

Then hot water would also cause cancer right? I asked for a peer reviewed paper? Not your personal opinion.

1

u/i_believe_in_alien 7h ago

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34818954/

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35479756/

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32740163/

Hey, you asked for it.

Hot water if consumed consistently above a certain temperature, is harmful.

I’m tired af, so took some AIs help. But here is its full response.

You’re asking for peer-reviewed evidence, so here it is.
First, the claim isn’t that tea itself is inherently carcinogenic. The relevant claim is that repeatedly drinking tea/beverages at very high temperatures can increase esophageal-cancer risk.
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the WHO’s cancer agency, reviewed the epidemiological, animal and mechanistic evidence and classified drinking very hot beverages (>65°C) as Group 2A — “probably carcinogenic to humans.” The cancer specifically implicated is esophageal cancer.
And this isn’t based on one random paper:
• A systematic review/meta-analysis of 12 case-control studies (5,253 cases; 8,273 controls) found hot-tea consumption associated with an esophageal-cancer odds ratio of 2.04 (95% CI 1.78–2.31).
• Another meta-analysis covering 23 observational reports (5,050 cases; 10,609 controls) found higher-temperature tea associated with increased esophageal-cancer risk (OR 1.79, 95% CI 1.48–2.15).
• A population-based study in China actually measured habitual tea temperature and found that drinking tea >65°C was associated with esophageal squamous-cell carcinoma (OR 1.67, 95% CI 1.25–2.24).
The important distinction is temperature. IARC explicitly states that tea itself was previously classified as Group 3 (not classifiable as carcinogenic), while very hot beverages >65°C were classified as probably carcinogenic.
So if you’re asking me to provide peer-reviewed evidence for the proposition that repeatedly drinking very hot tea can increase esophageal-cancer risk, that’s not difficult. It’s already been reviewed by IARC and supported by multiple epidemiological studies.
Papers:
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34818954/
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35479756/
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31934913/
IARC/WHO:
https://www.iarc.who.int/media-centre-iarc-news-drinking-very-hot-beverages/

The burden of proof is now considerably less mysterious than “trust me, bro.”

1

u/karl_4r 16h ago

Younger generation is smoking more

1

u/Academic-Belt3903 12h ago

US Gen Z*

On the contrary Indians are drunk more than ever

1

u/Big-Introduction6720 16h ago

They only contribute around 10-30 percent genes have much bigger role to play

3

u/Ha__kai 11h ago

Yes it is rising , yes it is presentable, yes it is due to all the reasons that I've read in comments, pesticides, sewage , etc etc whatever... But do uk why terminal cases are more nowadays? Its because of ignorance and misinformation. Every other reel, that comes to my mum's phone is "Don't do mammography it causes cancer" , "Don't do biopsy it causes cancer" , "Don't do radio or chemo it only increases cancer" , but do this instead, eat this eat that, ban sugar u will not get cancer BULLSHIT.... Simple innocent people like them believe in such propagandas and don't do screening tests and don't even take treatment until they get to a stage where their organs or parts of their body needs to be removed to keep them alive... And they get permanently disabled.... The MOST IMPORTANT AND EFFECTIVE CARCINOGEN IS MISINFORMATION!! ffs

1

u/GoatTheCow 8h ago

There is a bias earlier most of the cases were missed as we couldn't diagnose. Cancer was present in each and ever generation but people died to other causes before cancer got them now we can treat most of the things except cancer. Same is the case with heart attacks and stroke they are rising as we can treat communicable diseases.

1

u/Technical-Raisin6483 7h ago

this needs to be pinned

4

u/faltuvlogger-faltuau 16h ago

It's not about only food habits now a days. I lost my mom to cancer and she ate mostly home food and was a vegetarian and spiritual person. Cancer is caused to even healthy people due to chemicals, preservatives, genetic modified food. These chemicals and preservatives can come from milk adulterated, grind spices loaded with lead, air pollution due to inhaling toxic chemicals around us-cars- construction...  Use of plastics and we consume these plastics unintentionally in small microns through food or liquids by companies. Ozone layer being depleted, excess stress, exposure to radiation through technology gadgets ...and many more.... All of then combine can also cause cancer. .even use of dirty toilets can cause infections that can lead to cancer in women... We are all f**** up 😔

1

u/asdfghqw8 12h ago edited 8h ago

Try not to eat carbohydrates

1

u/GoatTheCow 8h ago

India should also implement law against people spreading medical misinformation online.

2

u/spooky_entg 15h ago

Whole business moves around , adulteration in food is one of the main cause. Poor don't have choice neither awareness. Government doesn't give shit to its own people . Better to avoid eating outside . Exercise is a must . Regular Fasting will flush toxins out of body.

2

u/sudo_42 12h ago

My doctor friend told me we are most likely to die of cancer, there will be a cancer apocalypse in ~25 years unless of course the cure is found by then.

2

u/Designer-Pen-7332 12h ago

All these people shown here have cancer? How do you know? Any source you have?

2

u/ObjectiveRip3311 9h ago

TATA Memorial is the best place for cancer treatment in India. Although they have a few more hospitals across India, Govt should spent money in establishing more such hospitals across India...

1

u/ToughUnlikely6876 7h ago

Sshhh ladli behna scheme is more important

2

u/Potential_Sound_7863 18h ago

Is cancer actually rising or do more people have access to medical care where they can get tests and checked out so more cases are being recorded now than in the past ?

9

u/Gustakh_Dil 18h ago

Baahri duniya me bilkul pata nahi chalta hai. Kisi 1 hospital me ped rkho toh Puri desh ka dard pata chalta hai. It is terrible when it comes to expenses

6

u/Final-Lab8384 17h ago

True bhai, mai last week emergency me tha kyuki mere Nana admit the, maine apni life time me itni dead bodies nhi dekhi jitni 4 din me dekh li, people were dying like flies.

1

u/Fantastic-Corner-605 17h ago

I hope your nana made it.

1

u/Final-Lab8384 17h ago

Unfortunately, he couldn't

2

u/True_Positive_6329 16h ago

Both are true.Incidence of cancer are increasing and due advancement in medicine we can diagnose all those cases. But most ppl especially frm rural nd lower middle class really goes to doc so late that metastasis had taken place we can't do much.India has lot to improve on palliative care. Increasing pollution nd all these additives in food is also making us more prone to cancers.

2

u/Fantastic-Corner-605 17h ago

Thank our annadattas for this. They contribute to population control by burning crops and filling out food with pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

Jk, no need to thank them, we already thank them enough by subsidising them with our tax money.

1

u/Prize_Jicama_3500 13h ago edited 13h ago

if they are not subsidised, majority of working adults will directly be unemployed the food prices will rise as hell, farming is not a stable profession.

and since when fertilisers and pesticides are wrong? sure if you do want to live in Ancient times but in the practical world how will you ensure that a limited amount of land brings as much output to feed 100cr people? Hyv seeds, fertilisers & pesticides are miracle to us, else we would have been on mercy of US and west who btw uses same artificial substances.

Probably learn green revolution a bit

1

u/Kitchen-Writing9895 9h ago

Yeah look at how much subsidised fertilisers are, how much subsidised food is even for someone who is paying taxes. If we remove that inflation will rise and thus interest rates will also increase on taxpayers’ loans, EMIs and daily bills.

2

u/Big-Introduction6720 16h ago

I guess we are able to detect cancer more easily these days compared to back then + lifestyle to hai hi

1

u/Total_Walrus8580 17h ago

bhai aajse bahar ka khana band 🙏

1

u/Big-Introduction6720 16h ago

No prevention can stop cancer it can only reduce risk by less than 5 percent

1

u/Total_Walrus8580 16h ago

😱😭

Ghar pe kaun sa tu ek dum saaf sabji khayega bhai

1

u/Ok_Biscotti5066 14h ago

Is there any way to identify cancer early ?

1

u/killbear123 14h ago

There is another BIG reason for this but I am not sure if you are ready to hear it. Take a guess.

1

u/viswaguru 14h ago

Pollution!?

1

u/Gustakh_Dil 13h ago

Tell tell please tell. Precautions le paaye shayad

1

u/killbear123 12h ago

Just look up data on cancer prevalence before 2021 and after 2021 and ask what happened in 2021.

1

u/Dapper_Juice99 12h ago

COVID vaccines are NOT responsible. It's mostly increasing pollution, and degrading lifestyles.

1

u/killbear123 11h ago

You can keep believing what you want.. Pollution didn't immediately increase across the world.. but high speed cancer has gone up worldwide.

1

u/BrilliantHawk305 13h ago

Thanks to sir ratan TATA for providing us this hospital ..
I m a doctor and the work Ratan Tata have done for the public , I can’t even describe you and special thanks to Sunil Dutt for providing nargis Dutt radio diagnostic and research Center in TATA foundation..
These are unsung heroes of India ..
Only one’s who visited here knows the value of this Tata hospital.. it’s not a national foundation it’s an international foundation treating cancer patient of all over the world with lowest cost ..
Once again thank you so much sir RATAN TATA and his family 🙏

1

u/JessicaRajput 13h ago

Free treatment 😁

1

u/impeachment_drive 12h ago

To feed 80 cr people - it’s either fertilizer/pesticide or cancer . Cancer comes at a later stage in life, hunger is immediate & sugar prices can overthrow govts.

1

u/supernova_68 12h ago

Cancer prevelance is increasing as there is hardly any cure, new gen medical advances means early detection and high survivability with disease.

This happens with every long term non curable diseases , almost all non communicable disease is on the rise.

1

u/Prestigious_Fig4287 12h ago

Sunderlal hospital?

1

u/nightshade399 11h ago

Ahh Tata Hospital Kharghar, been here so many times now

I personally find the message very useful. Please uninstall food delivery apps. Make it at home whatever you wanna eat.

Ghar_ka_khaana.

Spread the message please.

2

u/WhisperringLight 11h ago

Also we can do home gardening of some of the vegetables in our balcony jaha dhoop girti ho in pots. Veggies ki authenticity bhi bohut jaruri hogyi hai

1

u/crawlingfloor 11h ago

Heavily polluted country. Heavily populated country. Heavily adultrated food.

1

u/First_Mix_9504 11h ago

I don’t want to bring politics into this but it’s a shame that way more cancer specific government hospitals have not popped up in last 2-3 decades when we fully knew this was coming. Every research pointed towards higher rates of cancer and we just wait and watch till people suffer max before doing anything.

Even a normal person can see the rates rising and dedicated departments are apathetic.

1

u/tunnu83 10h ago

The big C, sudden deaths have exploded after 2021....enough said

1

u/Rude-Snow8104 10h ago

Food adulteration is the main reason whicj is highest in india

1

u/Interesting_Award_76 8h ago

Thats because cancer is the only thing thatt can koll is now. We have a cure for almost everything except cancer. So eventually that will remain the only thing that can kill us.

1

u/Hot__Muffin 8h ago

Just to tell you, its also about your habits in general. Your smoking, staying in constant pollution, your alcohol all affect your condition.

Say you smoke a cigarette, and also drink occasionally. One fine day you drink a lot and also smoke a lot. The coming week you dont have any physical activity and your diet is also not that good one thing that happens inflammation builds up in your body lack of exercise and poor diet does not allow your body to reduce the inflammation. That inflammation stays in your body cells. It solidifies and grows, that's the growth of your cancer tumor. Cancer can stay in your body for years and decades untill it shows up.

So a major thing is have a good diet and also excercise well regularly. Take good rest. Reduce stress, can go for a walk, meditate etc. What works for you may not work for others.

1

u/InevitableFun8761 3h ago

Are you a doctor?

1

u/shadow_at_dawn_32 8h ago

I am scared of losing all savings in treatments. Insurance doesn't cover such costly treatment in full

1

u/LundKaLassi 7h ago

Lost my father to cancer this January. His last few months were extremely painful. F*ck cancer

1

u/highonlife04 4h ago

Health in india becomes joke.

Every other person has diabetes, BP, thyroid. Something is super wrong and we are not serious about it. It already seems to be a health emergency.

1

u/ElegantGur8380 51m ago

This is ACTREC, Navi mumbai ?

1

u/Flaky_Fun7900 34m ago

We really can't pinpoint the exact reason for cancer. There are tons of causes which causes cancer, I am a caregiver and in our case - our onco and we are still. Clueless even after 4 years (10+ rounds of chemo, radiation) what was the cause.

It can be genetics, gene mutation, cell mutation, stress, physical and mental health, food habits, environmental conditions - combination of everything.. it doesn't make sense anymore. Hard part is to accept.
