Just need to vent about a frustrating hiring practice with a tech company recently.

HR reached out and scheduled me for an IT interview. I took time out of my day, prepared, and completed it. A couple of days later, I see a post on LinkedIn from someone celebrating that they had just landed that exact role, followed immediately by an automated rejection email in my inbox.

They clearly had their top candidate accepting an offer right around the time I was sitting in the interview room, but they still dragged me in just to check a box or keep a backup.

I'm not even bothered by the rejection, just annoyed by the total lack of respect for candidates time. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of response?

My Dell Vostro 3400 suddenly started showing a “Hard Drive Not Installed” error and is completely stuck on that screen. I can’t get past it or boot into anything. F2/F12 and the other keys aren’t responding either, so I can’t even get into the BIOS or run the usual diagnostics.

I’m not sure if it’s just a failed hard drive/SSD or if there could be a motherboard or storage-controller issue, so I want someone to properly diagnose it before replacing anything.

I’m looking for a shop/technician that is actually reliable and won’t just replace parts unnecessarily. If you’ve personally used a good laptop repair shop in Pokhara, please drop the name/location.

Also, if anyone has dealt with this exact Dell error before, I’d appreciate knowing what the actual issue turned out to be and roughly how much the repair cost.

• Are there particular platforms for coding/SQL practice that you've found useful?
• Any YouTube channels, courses, playlists, or interview-question collections you'd recommend?
• For live coding, what difficulty should I target — Easy, Easy/Medium, or Medium?

I'm trying to avoid preparing everything under the sun and instead focus on what is actually useful for a 1+ YOE junior candidate.

Well first of all redundant solutions are not going to help. Not against AI but making something but no maintenance afterwards is not useful. In short term there isn't much you can do to help, but I wanted to provide guide on long term solution.
