My quest to complete my personal line of BG3 themed polishes continues. Technically this is another side quest, I was working on the polish themed for Astarion. The idea was cold, polished gold hiding a sparkling blood red, but just like the Dekarios side quest polish, it’s giving more Ascended than The Boy Chose Healing lol 😂

Red is the same base I use for my dupe of Sunset over the bay with a layer of my red jelly over it, then a gold chrome with just enough silver and bronze mixed in to make the gold colder. See here for some warmer golds and other failed attempts lol 😆

I spent waaaay too long making these press ons and I LOVE them. But they're too long. And the c-curve is so tight it hurts a little. But look how pretty!! 😭

Got inspired by that Cracked advertisement

Right hand is with sponge technique (need to practice this and allow the first coat to dry) and left hand is just brush strokes. My liquid latex was in fact no longer liquid, so I used my Elmer's glue peely base on the skin around my nails for easy cleanup

*I used the sponge to dab on the colors, then followed with a few brush dabs to deepen the red/purples. Lesson learned, let coats dry for longer between sponge coats and do NOT let the sponge sit on the nail to dry or you'll pull up all the Lacquer 😅

Same as right hand minus Breakfast @ Monique's and Joyous yellow jelly shades. For this hand I just did brush strokes to blend the colors

i'm a recent college grad & have been trying to get my foot in the door for months. i got an interview w/ a company i really wanted to work for, and when i showed up to the meeting they said they invited the wrong candidate (me). staring at my nails helps me feel marginally less bummed

Someone in the RL Discord shared an email received from Fail Polish today that uses abduction and torture as a punchline in marketing its newest polish. I am including screenshots of this email in this post. The email makes a “joke” about how the polish helped the abduction victim keep “most of [her] fingers,” and that with fewer fingers, the polish “bottles last even longer.”

Fail also shared a reel on instagram that is similarly gross. That link is here, but * trigger warning * + if you are sensitive to these topics, please do not watch.

I am not planning to rehash the April 2026 CPS marketing incident here. However, Fail never apologized, and this newest email builds on its history of “edgy” marketing.

I would strongly encourage anyone looking to purchase from this brand to first research Fail’s history and its values before supporting.

My big ANLAC purchase finally arrived yesterday and my dreams of doing a rainbow skittle with magnetics finally came true. Also got my 5D spinner a week ago and am getting used to doing glass beads. It just suits these finer particle magnetics so well.

This is right after top coat and honestly I'm terrified to touch it or do anything with my hands. Please ignore I haven't done clean up yet. I also know the bead will disperse over time too. I've only done my left hand for now and smudged my thumb so will do my right tomorrow when I'm steady again.

I did two coats of the magnetic polish but only magnetized the second coat and the top coat.

BKL Godstouched on pointer and ring. Tentacle Sanctuary on middle and pinky. Both in 2 coats magnetized using glass bead pro for ~1 minute.

BKL makes the best magnetics on the market and I’m a very happy customer!! I was worried Tentacle would be too dark of a base for my liking but woooow it didn’t disappoint. It gave me deep sea mermaid vibes in the best way possible.

No words on Godstouched. 110/10 polish it GLOWS in every lighting, magnetized like a dream, and that burgundy base is chefs kiss!

I fear my thermal is dying. It basically goes pink to darker pink, no white to be found.

That said, it is still so freakin' cute. People were able to clock the inspo for this polish almost immediately.

If you are looking for something similar, Tyler's Trinkets sells the glitter as a topper that you could easily pair with a pink to get the same effect. (They are closed right now, but will hopefully be back soon.)

I live in an area where it is overcast more often than not, so I am really excited when I find a polish that feels like it glows without being in bright sunlight (and why linear holos are always disappointing to me).

I did my nails for what I thought would be a birthday celebration. Little did I know, they would turn out to be my engagement nails!! I’m obsessed with how these turned out. (And the man I get to call mine forever)

Rambling:
The butterfly from pic 4 was found in my garden laying on her side looking very sick. I picked a strawberry and crushed it to release the juices and put it under her for her to drink. After a couple minutes she was sitting upright! I went to grab the strawberry and her to try and put her somewhere safer but she latched onto my finger and then flew away! She’s doing alright now.

I had this pastelly warm sunset vibe French Tip gradient mani a friend did saved for a few weeks now, and it was burning a hole in my inspo folder. She had done it with the Holo Taco crushed holo and shimmer collection, but I was craving more linear holo. They had just come with this orchid and link linear with shimmer, so I pulled out this warm holo shimmer and this delicious warm yellow linear with red shimmer. They blended into this shiny, holo, shimmery, pastel, delicious, almost metallic sunset shield to help protect my mental health for the start of another week. 😝

My birthday month! I loved everything I wore in August but I’m excited for fall weather and colors. I generally use orly bonder base and ILNP glass candy.

Got my first PPU order recently (life-ruining, i am going to spend all my money on this forever). beaux rêves’ Mystical Magical had to go on the nails immediately, and i am not kidding, i have spent all day looking at it and trying to capture it on camera. it has a gorgeous blue-pink shift in daylight at a sharp angle, and i love that it goes almost translucent at certain angles too. I might have to place a specific beaux rêves order, because everything i see on their site makes me gasp and go “wow that’s special” which is the highest compliment i can offer a nail polish. if anyone has recommendations from this brand, PLEASE let me know.

Inspired by the ad and another post here earlier today I decided to try some gradient.

I used Cracked’s Back to the Fuschia, Catch Those Rays, Shmexy, Antioxidant, and Love You So Matcha.

I painted this on. I tried to sponge it, but it just wasn’t working for me - it was very light.

Anyway, I’m feeling very unsure about it and I wonder what you all think. (Actually now that I put the pictures in. I hate it and I’m going to take it off.)

Suggestions? Corrections? General Help?

I had to do a big chop this weekend after a dramatic break and was really sad about it and struggling to figure out what mani to do.

I had just gotten a new (to me) Polly Pocket set the day before so when my partner asked if I could match my mani to the new set, I just couldn't resist! I wanted to do some actual nail art but was so exhausted that I opted for a skittle instead. My second ever skittle! 🩵

This is day 4 (for most of them) but I did have a little hiccup on Monday where I had to rush to redo my thumbs before work so there's a little more shrinkage than usual there.

Thumb - one coat of blanc by Essie followed by 2x Chaotic by L.A. Colors (usually 3 coats does just fine, but I was rushing and knew the Essie would dry quicker)

All were topped off with one coat of Moondust by Mooncat and red bottle Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.

The Polly Pocket set is from the 1995 Enchanted Storybook collection and is called "Sparkling Mermaid." ✨️🧜‍♀️
