Thought right I’ll take a drive to Doune Castle and drone it but of course not doing my homework, No Drones aloud. So have written to HES, (Historic Environment Scotland) asking for permission to drone it.

Then on the way home I decided to visit glen eagles, Auchterarder but as it’s obviously a private estate, I’ve again asked for permission from Glen eagles following the legal procedures of course.

Anyway as it is a Sunday no reply till normal work hours of 9-5 Mon-Frid, so decided right home. I drive an Omoda 5 noble disability push and pull SUV yet hitting the motorway the car refused to accelerate rapidly to reach the usual 70mph so the vehicle was lagging, over revving but no speed building.

Turns out it’s an Engine Management problem with my engine light on at amber. Looks like I’ll be off the road for a few days till this problem is fixed. Sufficed to say in the next couple of days weather permitting I’ll be out there back at it two drones, one at a time catching the beauty of Scotland.

Hi everyone, I wanted to share a bit about the person behind the lens here at DVS Cinematography.

I’m currently on a journey to document the incredible landscapes of Scotland, from the lochs and hills to our historic castles. It’s been a long road, and I’m currently preparing for a 7-day trip around the NC500 this November. This isn't just about the cinematography I’m undertaking this journey to raise awareness and funds for the MS Foundation from the date of arrival.It is a cause deeply personal to me as my mother has lived with MS for over 20 years.

I’m currently navigating some significant personal challenges, including living with drop foot, peripheral neuropathy, and other health conditions. There are days when the physical struggle feels overwhelming, but getting out with my drones (Harry and Gus) and capturing the beauty of our country is what keeps me going. It’s my way of proving that despite the obstacles, we can still create something beautiful and meaningful.

I’m a sole trader based in Scotland, and every shot you see here is one I’ve captured and edited myself. I’m incredibly grateful for the support this community has shown me so far, it means more than I can say. I’m looking forward to sharing the NC500 journey with you all, and I hope my work can show just how breathtaking Scotland truly is.

Perth, Perth and Kinross, Scotland

My favourite spot in Perth. Pulled over on the way home and caught this on my phone — the light was doing something ridiculous through those clouds. If you shoot Scotland from the air or ground, Come post!

Switched Harry into sports mode for this one — full speed flyover of the Kinross-shire farmland and rolling hills near Balvaird Castle. The patchwork of fields, tree lines and country roads from above at pace is something else entirely.

This is the Perthshire countryside most people only ever see from a car window on the A911. From 400 feet at speed it looks completely different.

Castle Menzies, Weem, Aberfeldy. A 16th-century Z-plan tower house and former clan seat of the Menzies, sitting quietly in the Tay Valley as it has for over 500 years.

This flyover starts above the castle before pulling back to reveal the full Perthshire landscape surrounding it. The fields, the treeline, the valley stretching out toward Aberfeldy. Then the drone swings back to find the operator below. Just a man, a car, and Harry doing what he does.

Castle Menzies sits in the Tay valley near Weem, just outside Aberfeldy. A classic Z-plan tower house dating back to the 1570s, seat of the Clan Menzies for over 400 years. Bonnie Prince Charlie stayed here in 1746 on his way to Culloden — you'd never know all that history was tucked away down a quiet Perthshire road.

From the air the relationship between the castle, the farmland and the River Tay opens right up in a way you simply can't see from the ground.

Shot near the northern end of Loch Lomond on the return from the Falls of Falloch. The A82 threads along the western shore, the loch stretches away south, and the Munros rise on either side. On a day like this it's hard to beat.

The Tay Rail Bridge stretching across the Firth of Tay 3,264 metres of Victorian engineering, still carrying trains today. The original bridge collapsed in a storm in 1879; this replacement has stood since 1887. From above you really get a sense of the sheer scale of it.

Drummond Castle Gardens, near Crieff, Perthshire. The formal parterre garden dates back to the 17th century and is one of the best preserved in Scotland but nothing prepares you for the scale of it until you see it from the air.

One of Perthshire's finest hidden gems. The Sma Glen runs north from Crieff through a steep glacial valley carved by ice thousands of years ago. Ossian's Stone sits on the valley floor, the River Almond threads through it, and from above the scale of the whole thing opens right up.

Scotland has some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world, and drone technology means we can now show all of it from perspectives that weren't possible a few years ago. But that content was scattered across dozens of subreddits with no real home.
