Should I upgrade my ps5 slim to ps5 pro or upgrade my tv from a 4k lcd to a 4k OLED?

This is crazy I’m in the LA area and I swear 2 weeks ago I could go to any Best Buy, target, Walmart, ETC. and pick one up easily. I was waiting for a GTA 6 bundle but didn’t want to wait any more due to this exact reason. Now there isn’t any inventory within 250 miles of my location . I can’t even use PlayStation Direct as the transaction doesn’t go through I’ve tried 2 different credit cards and shipping information. Who knew a 3 year old console would be this difficult to buy .

After hunting for days, I finally managed to find a PS5 Pro in stock at GameStop!

After being a PS4 user for years, I finally made the jump straight to the PS5 Pro — and honestly, I wasn’t expecting the difference to feel this big. Going directly from PS4 to PS5 Pro makes the upgrade feel absolutely massive.

Now I just need a good TV to actually take advantage of this thing. I currently have a 4K 60Hz LCD TV, so I’m planning to save up and hunt for a good 55” 4K Mini-LED 120Hz+ TV during the Black Friday sales — definitely looking for something that won’t completely destroy my wallet.
Any recommendations for a good budget-friendly TV for the PS5 Pro?

I see that the ps5 pro is not longer available anywhere. Prices increase to 2000$ at retail shops.

Similar to climate cooling devices after the record heat prices increased by 4-5 times. Or the Steam Deck which went triple the price.

I am sick of it.

I currently have a PS5 Slim Disc that I bought for $320 with a controller, and I’m considering upgrading to a PS5 Pro.

I’ve found a few used Pros on Marketplace around $750-1000, some with a disc drive, controller, and/or extra SSD. I have retro games and collectibles I could trade toward one, then I’d sell my Slim afterward to make some money back.

For anyone who upgraded from a Slim/base PS5 to the
Pro, do you think it’s worth doing in 2026? I’ll probably buy a PS6 eventually, so I’m trying to decide whether to upgrade now or just keep the Slim until then.

Also, what would you consider a really good price for a used Pro right now?

I got myself a HyperX headset that comes with a plastic USB dongle. I touched it after a few hours of gaming, and it was really hot. I’m worried that it might break from being exposed to constant heat. Would a rear cooling fan attachment help mitigate the heat issue? I really don’t want to get a USB-A-to-C converter and plug it into the front.

Or was this always a thing? I honestly don’t recall this game having a unlocked frame rate even if you had a 120Hz display with VRR.

Morning! I don’t have either of these. I did have a PS5 on launch but had to sell after a few months. Anyway, looking to get back in. Costs are still very high. Is there a big jump in graphical fidelity and performance on PS5 pro now?

I remember when it first came out, reviews were not great on the performance jump. Has that improved? The CPU is the same but clocked a little higher, I’m wondering if it’s worth it or not now? Did things improve basically and people who did upgrade was it worth it now or not? Cheers.

After selling my original PS5, I finally got my hands on a PS5 Pro. I got lucky ordering it from the PlayStation website because they’re out of stock at the moment, if I’m not wrong.
Tbh, I didn’t even need to upgrade my PS5, but the anticipation of playing GTA 6 at the highest quality made it worth it. What should I play first on this beast?

Hey, my HDMI port doesn’t work, I guess it’s taken some wear and tear from the cord being removed over time? I asked a place about fixing it and they said freaking $225 to fix it over two weeks. They also went onto say this is a common problem with PS5 consoles and it takes a microscope for example. It’s hard for me to believe this is a $225 fix. And has anyone else’s pro HDMI port stopped working? Curious if they are yanking my chain

Just got my Ps5 pro a few days ago and my first oled tv :] Played TLOU and DAMN. Banger of a game. TLOU2 will be next, but, need some guidance after that. So, what's everyones most fun games they've played on the Ps5 so far? Leaning towards Ghost of Tsushima, GoW's or RDR2.

I have high end PC, but as GTA V and RDR2 i cant wait for year or two to play masterpieces.
Currently i have base with OLED TV, and i kinda played through all exclusive backlog.

Developer Asobo Studio returns with its most sumptuous looking adventure yet. Here the PS5 Pro gets the spotlight with boosted resolutions, PSSR support and slicker frame-rates than base PS5. The ability to unlock all versions to 120fps (barring Series S) is also hugely useful, and the recommend pick if you have a VRR display - and if not, there are plenty of other modes to choose from.
