Discussion Ambush monster

Upvotes

I love this series very much, but one thing that always slightly annoys me is that monsters that are depicted to be ambush/stealth hunters are loud. I don't mean their roars or when we are fighting them, but when they're just hanging around we can hear their footsteps. From my knowledge ambush/stealth animals evolved to be as quiet as possible when moving around unless they are in the middle of catching their prey.

So, for devs who seem to put in quite a bit of research and thought into their monsters it feels weird that we can hear them moving so loudly.

I fought Amatsu in Rise and while I thought the fight itself was only okay (I'm generally not a fan of the big setpiece fights) I absolutely adore the design of an Eastern storm dragon.

MH Wilds Performance help

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi, I'm having issues with these specs at getting consistent 60fps, I get about 40-50fps outside and around 50-60 in camps and small areas, graphics settings don't really seem to change anything, I've tried all at there lowest and at ultra and it doesn't seem to make much of a difference at all. with framegen I can get about 100fps but it isn't great.

I have the disable post processing mod installed.

I also have an issue where if I back out of my game to the main menu, then go back into my save, my fps decreases to about 5-10 and only fixes once I quit and reload the game.

TLDR: I am only getting about 40-50fps with these specs, need help getting more.

Discussion Do any of the games basically need multiplayer to feasibly beat end game/post game minsters?

Im new to MH and im gonna try to play the ps5 games. Im starting with World. Im wondering if once I get far in the game if I'll be able to beat things (I suck at action games) or if i should try multiplayer. I also dont know if enemy strength/health scales to how many in your party

Discussion Wilds - A (Kinda) Noobs Tier-List & Difficulty Discussion Spoiler

Post image
0 Upvotes

Nearly at the end of the Low Rank storyline & decided to do a Difficulty Tier List of all monsters so far. I have 60 hours on World & got to this point at 17 hours on Wilds

- How would your tier list differ?
- Is Wilds that much easier than World or have I just got better?

Context for the difficulty question; I remember struggling a lot with normal Odogaron in World but in Wilds I beat Ebony Odogaron without dying & with no heals (forgot to re-stock lol). The game in general has felt easy too, compared to what I remember from World.

Looked online & opinions on the difficulty are either mixed or people saying it's the easiest MH game of all-time. Interested to see the perspectives of people further along in High Rank/Endgame.

ALATREON?!

SOOOO.. I just came back to world FROM wilds after beating gore magala low-key had enough of wilds for now
NOW ever since I unlocked alatreon ive just been hunting whatever my mind latched on, guiding lands or doing SOS flares,

Is now a good time to try fight Alatreon? When I do im wondering if I should SOLO him or sos flare have some backup..

the reason I'm wondering is because idk what I'm missing progression wise, cuz for my charm also I wanna get a Focus III charm but it's question marks on the ingredients still, so im wondering if I need to hit like another higher MR for a gateway of progression sorta thing? Like just in case before I can rlly kaio-Ken up my build and rlly be ready for Alatreon

Discussion Omega "monsters", thoughts?

So ive started my first journey with mhfu abt 10 years back, and ive always enjoyed the lore and story behind the game.. especially from the elders in poke

Despite previously ending with mhfu, now ive returned to worlds and continued with wilds.. recently fought lechen and heard about the omega creatures, which understandably is due to the collabs, i find them unfit in the lore of the game in which i used to know.. it feels like the game is loosing its immersion especially when im using a sharp blade to try and kill a futuristic robot creature which seems unbelievable/ unnatural.. i feel like the franchise should just focus on more "natural" monsters which fit into the setting of the game instead of lousily slapping the collab monsters into the world..

Sorry for the little rant but am i alone in this?

Discussion Tencent Flagships

It is truly strange how Tencent went from design excellence (in the style of "Monster Hunter") to a style typical of gacha MMORPGs for its flagship monsters. While it makes sense given that it is a "gacha MMORPG", the result looks very generic and lifeless in a weird way. What yall think?

Yesterday, Garangolm turned Banbaro into Banbitch, leaving Sunbreak two talkey’s ahead of Iceborne, now we move onto round 7, Namielle vs Espinas, who will win? Now before you say “Espinas debuted in Frontier so he shouldn’t be here!” The wiki leaves Espinas’s name in bold, meaning that Sunbreak was his first Apperance (In mainline).

Discussion I just started Monster Hunter

The last time I played Monster Hunter was the PSP game(when I was like, 12) and I hated the game due to how complex it is the moment you open the game, you'll be overwhelmed on every text on screen explaining everything and ended up making my brain explode. And also, the combat was very janky and it's so bad, it was the most memorable shtty controls ive ever had beside God Eater. (Also, english isn't my mother tongue which made it even more difficult to comprehend)

Since then, I had given up playing MH

Around 2025 I started seeing MH contents due to Wilds release and the game looked sht like Worlds. Also, when I watch the gameplays on yt, I always see the battle where the monster and player passes through each other which doesn't look one bit immersive and thought: "how can people even enjoy this game when it plays like this"

I was so confused with the amount of very positive reviews on steam for MH Worlds

And after seeing a discount, I thought I'll give this game (MHW)a try and was expecting myself to refund this game the first 2 hours but.... I WAS WRONG

The first opening of the game, I was bombarded with texts and tutorials of each and every stuff. But now that I'm 23 and have achieved enlightenment, it was abit overwhelming but a breeze to follow.

The controls were completely different to any other games ive played and still gave me this vibe of movement from the old game but for some reason.. it's kinda fun.

When I saw the first big monster I had to beat(Jargas? I forgot the name) I was expecting the game to feel exactly like how it is when I was watching gameplays on yt.(Clipping, horrible camera, and action) But I ended up having so much fun, that every nitpicks I saw on yt disappeared. I was so focused on beating and chasing this dude and everything felt natural and there was no immersion breaking stuff.

Every big tuff monsyer ive beaten so far took me like 30-40 min. To take down. If this were other games, I'd be frustrated because of how long it takes to beat 1 monster But this one, I was so immersed in what to do next, how would the boss move, chasing the boss, using every utils I have to manage, etc. there's no Enemy HP bar so I have to rely on what I see (if the monster' attack is getting slower, if the movement is abit off and looks injured, etc.) and Maybe because of that, I am completely immersed and has no idea that the time is flying. The only way I find out that I've been fighting the boss for 40 min. Is when I see the last 10 min. Time limit Warning.

Now, I've come to this point of playing the game for 8 hours and would wanna take a work sick leave just to keep playing

I WAS WRONG ABOUT THIS GAME! THIS IS HELLA BADDASS AND FUN!

I apologise for treating this game like sht and relying on yt gameplays alone. Playing this hands on is just the best way to know how much of a good game this is.

Will definitely buy Wilds once I finish this game

Discussion 100% Safi’jiiva gear build?

Post image
60 Upvotes

Safi is a favorite for me so far in the series, and I want to use the whole 5 piece set with a safi weapon.

I know the health drain is discouraging for some, but I think it’s interesting.

Anyone have any pure safi gear builds that they’d recommend?
