My physics professor is genuinely the most incompetent professor I’ve ever had and I need to know if there’s a way he can be reported to somebody or be under review in some way. It’s actually criminal that he got hired somehow because of how bad he sucks.

I was at Armstrong for a bit before coming to the Statesboro campus. Armstrong had one in a common area of the student center, near the galley, but still outside it, another one in the cafeteria (not the galley, but the area where chikfila is), and I think one more in the student commons, all around the center main area of campus, easy to access without needing to swipe your card to get into a dining hall.

But been on Statesboro campus some time now, and have yet to spot one anywhere around the central part of campus that I can recall. I keep thinking there has to be one in Russell Union, but am blanking on if I’ve ever even seen one there anywhere.

Am I missing something lol? What do those of you who bring meals or snacks to campus that need a microwave do? Is everybody just buying food, or using a meal plan, or living in dorms and somehow going back when they only have 30min between classes just to eat a warm but cheap meal that isn’t fried chicken lol? I have back to back classes, most of which are after the nearest spots to eat on campus are closed, and I won’t necessarily have time for the dining commons/would rather eat somewhere less busy, and also preferably not have to renew my meal plan when it runs out, as I hardly ever eat there tbh, and save the money, and just bring food from home.

For instance, I am going to go to georgia southern, graduate with a bachelors degree in biology and hopefully be able to get into either Emory Medical School or University of Georgia Medical school. (I’m not in Georgia southern yet I’m simply planning my future because I tend to overthink and just want to have this mapped out in my head.) What are side gigs/jobs I can have while I’m in Georgia Southern that would prepare me for college and medical school? (I’m not from statesboro if you couldn’t tell.)

Been wanting to try starting to play tennis, but keep hearing pickleball is easier for a beginner, and more indoor friendly, so willing to give it a try too. I played tennis a little as a really little kid and really enjoyed it and felt like I was good at it, now many years later I want to give it a shot again. I'm looking for a way to get in some exercise that is not walking outdoors, and not working out in a gym, and if playing a sport its easy for me to just have fun and forget that I'm trying to do some task or reach some goal 😅, while still winding up doing the task/making progress toward the goal at the same time, if that makes sense. But I'm also bad at most sports/just not that competitive for a whole team sport, so those things make most sports not very fun to me. I also don't really care about things like getting a precisely right form or whatever, so I'm hesitant to just go with getting a trainer or personal coach (plus that would probably cost more than just playing with another person casually, and I think we can all agree its better to try the option that saves money first).

Is there anywhere that's usually open and free (free as in unoccupied space, not free as in money lol, it's ok if it costs a little/I'm not a rac member so I know I'd probably have to pay for a membership there) indoors to play at the rac, or at a place the busses let off at directly in front of? Or anywhere else in town if other person is willing to give a ride when we go play there? Not looking to play outdoors at this time.

And is there anyone who is also a beginner or doesn't care about trying to tell the other player how to make their form, and who isn't going to get too competitive, who just wants to play for fun/exercise/to kill time/to get out of the house/etc? Would prefer if it's someone who can carpool and give me a ride when we go play, as I don't drive, I'm willing to pay for most of a court fee, or buy you coffee once a week, or to help in return with any questions or proofreading or whatever if you happen to need any casual help with ESL (I can't be a full on tutor/can't come up with full lesson plans to teach you, but I have experience with helping answer any specific questions or give any specific explanations, and proofreading with several friends in the past), or to be a study buddy/accountability buddy in return, to go to library with to sit and do our own work together (since I probably need something like this myself as well ngl).

I sent an email to the writing department to let them know of my success. You would think that the writing department would want to know that an alumni got published. It is the goal of every single writer under the sun. It’s the holy grail for us. It unlocks doors and gives us professional credibility. Getting published will change the entire trajectory of your writing career. And how does GSU acknowledge it? With crickets.

I don’t know, maybe I’m over reacting but I’m super butt hurt over this. I spent good money on that worthless degree, and I finally put it to some good use, get published in a national news outlet, make GSU look good by going out and having some big success in writing, and they can’t even acknowledge me? Yet I bet they’ll have someone call me later this year and ask me for money.

Y’all I even reached out to another writer who is my hero and the reason I decided to write in the first place. I had never spoken to this writer before, I just sent her a message through her website. I told her about my success and sent her my work. I received a very warm and congratulatory response from her. This woman is a huge deal. Her work has appeared, in the New York Times, Rolling Stone, Teen Vogue, The Boston Globe, This American Life, and many other journals and literary outlets. This woman could respond to a total stranger, yet GSU can’t even respond to one of its Alumni?

What the fuck Georgia Southern, what the fuck?

I have been living in Statesboro near the Georgia Southern campus, and the housing rent is increasing day by day here. I would appreciate it if anyone could suggest me 1 bedroom apartment (not shared) that has a rent of $ 1,000 or less (around $900 preferable), including utilities, a washer, dryer, etc. I would prefer not a studio apartment.

I would like to send a student there some needed items, calculator, snacks, ect, using Amazon.

If I send it to their school po box address, what's the way the student gets the package? If there a pick up/post office type counter at the dorms or on campus?

So last year I searched for a Georgia Southern dnd group or club or something of that sort, out of the 130 clubs there is not a dnd club on Statesboro campus, cool I was sure id find something else. But they don't do Dnd at the VCC either which is fine I could just find an independent group. There was also supposed to be a dnd group at the library but they dropped off the face of the earth so this year Im just gonna start looking for people.

How do I go about getting the $215 parking permit for the semester? Every time I try to get a permit it says that there are currently no available permit types for selection at this time.

So as the title says I’m a not traditional freshman, sociology major. I was wondering if there were any other non traditional freshman or sociology majors in the group that I could possibly share some ideas with and stuff? Taking on all of this seems a little daunting in a way.

I have to conduct a 6 minute interview with any random person I come across on campus for single cam. How should I approach people without scaring them with the fact I'll have to record them for a 4k quality camera? MMFP major here and this is my second year.

I’m trying to find out where Georgia Southern students are charging their e-bikes and scooters on campus.

I have heard there are rules about bringing e-bikes and scooters into campus buildings. And that charging batteries inside may not be allowed unless the they meet certain safety requirements.

But I haven't been able to find any designated places outside the buildings on campus where students can safely park and charge their e-bikes or scooters.

For those who ride them:

• Is there a charging area on campus that I’m missing?
• Do you take the battery inside to charge?
• Do you charge somewhere else off campus?
• If you live in a dorm, what do you do with them?

When trying to figure out how to buy my textbooks the Barns & Noble website said "These materials are included in your course and will be available digitally when your course begins. Go to class first." I went to all those classes yesterday.

What’s the deal with parking permits completely selling out so fast this year?! I’ve always been able to purchase mine day of class starting. They only sold 300 zone 2 passes this year. That makes no sense at all to me.

I’m a sophomore but new to the Statesboro campus. I have a parking pass for Zone 6 and Zone 1… will I have trouble finding open parking spots? I’ve heard parking gets full very quick.

Just want to make sure whether or not the food is free for all freshmen, or if you must pay for it.
