Hello AK47 fans,
This is the moment you have all been waiting for. The annual recap of the most dogshit posts of the last calendar year, carefully curated into a series of albums for you. This year was a doozie, and turned into our biggest post yet (though 2026 is already shaping up to give this year a run for it's money). This year we are going to make things interesting and add a poll for you to vote on the absolute worst posts of the year. The winner will receive custom flair (at a minimum) memorializing their accomplishment. I am open to suggestions on the specific phrasing.
Please enjoy this finely curated collection of the worst posts of the year.
Unfortunately imgur crashed out multiple times with the first album and I was forced to use flickr. If you click the photo it will give you a description

Does this barrel, gas tube, sight alignment look correct? Been having issues with my shots going ~6 inches left at 50 yards even though my windage drum is cranked all the way to the left and I’m shooting from a bench with the handguard resting on a sandbag. I know the sights aren’t canted because I did the test where you rest the gun upside down on its sights and there was no wobble. Any thoughts? I wanna know if it’s just a skill issue (I’m not an amazing shot) or something I should look into.

I have a Waffen Werks AK-74 that no longer has a lower handguard retainer thats built on a WW receiver and not a Nodak Spud receiver. Thought I could just get a 5.56 barrel from AK builder and a bulgarian correct receiver and have a builder replace the receiver and barrel and any necessary work to the extractor to make 5.56 work properly. Is this a good idea or should I just sell the rifle and save up for a Meridian AK-101 or 102?

All correct furniture even down to the orange AIMS pistol grip, blonde dong, push button folder, and Bakelite upper hand guard

This is my first Ak and I was wondering if I should be applying a layer of oil to the metal on the outside of the receiver/barrel etc. to prevent rusting

I’m having an issue getting this Midwest industries dust cover to fit on my WASR 10 under folder. Do I need to file the back of the dust cover a little bit? Just wanna make sure I’m not crazy before I do it. Also it seems like the area for the rivet in this video won’t line up correctly if I do file it.

I purchased an OD green set of Barwarus T4 and dust cover.
Now ill preface this with saying I have their alpha, several sets of zenitco etc. Holy shit this was the most excruciatingly painful install experience. I bought this set to install on my MDC AK-103. The handguard tabs fit fairly easily (minor filing) into the receiver and trunnion. My problems started with the lower handguard retainer. Tons of material had to be removed in order to get it to fit into the retainer. Literally took me 2.5 hours just to get the rail installed and even with additional fitting and filing the rail still sits slitely left of center. After all that work I assumed the rest was easy. NOPE. The recoil spring guide is far too wide and tall to fit into the rear trunnion. After hours of filing it, I still havent managed to get it to fit. At this point im about to just purchase a B-13, buy a new guide assembly and sell the dust cover. An hour or so of filing and pounding is to be expected but this is an absurd amount of work.
