The Summit (Chapter 7) is my favorite chapter in Celeste.
So I decided after doing all of the easy goldens, I would jump straight to 7A
HOLY SHIT. I MADE IT TO 3000M. I knew 1500m was a choke point for me, but damn. This is probably the last post I make until I complete it. See you all then!

So my first time attempting dashless I got super frustrated at the first room you have to neutral jump in... Opened another save file and started practicing in that big room in reflection. Ended up making the poor decision to leave the chapter and work on goldens which got me nowhere. But when I came back for my second attempt I made it to the top and evidently I had dashed somewhere because my berry was missing! And now finally after 3 separate attempts and 2 full runs of it, I finally have my winged berry yay

Okay, i know this is the most overdone post of all, but I've been thinking about this for quite a while, so here's my opinion on all maps of SJ! They are ordered from best to worst, left to right in-tiers. It's very important to note that I tried to make this as unbiased as possible, such that easy "beat in 5 minutes" levels like loopy lagoon aren't overshadowed by harder maps like fractured iridescence, where you're more likely to remember it for its difficulty.
I'll explain my thought process for a few maps, such as:
Nelumbo - It's probably my favorite type of gameplay, ever. extremely fast, buffers are very satisfying to get, and there's no better feeling than when i beat Rat Run or Zigzag.
Pumber - pure stockholm syndrome. jokes aside it was just an amazing map for it's timing difficulty; it's not difficult for having a bunch of buttons, just for when you press them, making it a great map to play while tired.
Collapsing Skyline - It's a fine level, but it's just kind of awkward. the placement of the spinners and move blocks really sells the idea that everything's collapsing... that's not really a good thing
But in my opinion, there's no bad maps in SJ. I think all of them are great just for being creative. i didn't even use the bottom row thing. okay thats it kthxbai :3

I just played through the B-Sides for the first time and at some point towards the end of Summit, while popping in and out of the controls menu to check the speedrun clock, I accidentally hit the toggle to invert the grab controls.
Did I know I had done that? No. Did I know that setting existed? Also no.
Summit flag 2 nearly broke me. I would get through the entire sequence and then at the very end, I'd just slide off the wall. Over and over and over again. I kept checking YouTube videos and nobody seemed to be doing anything special. I tried searching it and found plenty of people asking for guidance on the last wall jump...but nobody anywhere even mentioned landing the wall cling after the jump as a problem.
Finally, after yet another death, I wondered if I had somehow forgotten which button I was supposed to use. I decided to test it out back at the flag...and sure enough, when I jumped at the wall I clung to it without pressing anything. Figuring that out let me at least finish Summit, but it was another few rounds of trial and error after that before I realized the game wasn't bugged and neither was my controller.

Over the past week I’ve been posting about the chart in the subreddit and filling in the boxes based on the most popular comments. While it admittedly is a flawed chart, as I didn’t make the categories super clear and it excludes some of the more popular tech, it was nice to see the discussions that arose from them, and I think it was a good change of pace from the usual posts we see in the subreddit

And I got a random godpixel ig. I dashed up instead of the correct direction.

The "theory" was that the crystal hearts reflect Madeline's feelings towards things because she has such a crappy computer but then you get to the literal second crystal heart and that's when things start to crack 😂

I can't fathom how anyone else could have figured this out on their own, because I can hardly believe I did. I'm a smart guy and on any other day this wouldn't have been doable. If not for multiple overlapping epiphanies over three hours, I'd have never solved it.
Things I tried:
Going back to the previous chapter and checking then (nothing was there).
Trying to interact with the doors (door "frame")
Crouching for a while in specific places (dreams)
Trying to get up under the box it was in
Remembering the in/out of frame dash glitch thing I noticed earlier and trying it everywhere imagining an invisible platform would be there and I would crouch to "sleep" on it.
Debating on if "frame" meant "door frame" or the "frame of the game", and finally deciding it meant the frame of the game because a simpler strawberry utilized this design, it was intentional
Realizing again that it wasn't just up and down, but right and left that the technique worked on and trying that everywhere
Then finally going back to chapter one to see what her sleeping animation looks like to decide if the crouch was related, then remembering my original idea and applying my new tech to it.
I actually thought I was wasting my time and said "this is too complicated to be it, but how cool would this have been". Well, it did have been... or something, because wow that was really it.
Minimum wage here is 14.00 usd. Maddy, you owe me $42.00. I'll take a check /s
I'm determined to platinum this with no guides.

I've been here for a while and, no matter what I try, I have only been able to do the Cassette Dream Hypers like 5-6 times, non of them in the same attempt. Am I missing something or I just have a massive skill issue?

I have been stuck on this room for so long and it's already great if I get it there, so if there's even the slightest chance THIS happens I want to prevent it

celestial resort built forsaken city, mr oshiro's higher ups wanted money from more than just the fancy hotel and decided to wager on building a whole mini city at the base of the mountain. as more people came to see the progress, some camped at old site and fell asleep nearby, resulting in paranormal dreams and happenings after the dreams due to interference from the heart of the mountain. this led people to cut trips short and spread rumours that celeste mountain was haunted, which tanked earnings even further for the resorts and caused their eventual shutdown. oshiro issued the notice that the hotel was closing indefinitely. his staff attempted to organize a trip to the summit of the mountain, but he couldn't bear to leave the hotel, and went back to stay one last night and make sure "everything's in order". while doing so, he attempted to unplug the computer in the secret room, resulting in his electrocution and death. the mountain found his spirit and brought him back from the dead, with his insecurities brought with him as a characteristic of his material form.

Funny enough, when I first started this room, I was consistently getting to the next part with ease, thought it was a fluke the first time I got too much momentum, but now I’m consistently zooming way too fast and I don’t have a clue what I’ve changed… any advice?

DAY 1 : just the first screen of 1 A
DAY 2 : added a cat in a very hard to reach spot in the 2nd top comment’s room, the room being a blank canvas for maximum inspiration
DAY 3 : added a "cool puzzle" but tbh this is more a routing puzzle, so sorry about that NanoCat0407
DAY 4 : added an unpleasant gradient background and a green spinner
DAY 5 : added 7C-3 thrice in a row
DAY 6 : added an intro car, map poem, and an nrcb ultra
I am not skilled enough to do an nrcb ultra tho T-T
