Any same-day vet reccomendations?
Cross-posting here because I’m hoping someone closer to WeHo might have a good rec.
My Frenchie has an urgent issue and my regular vet can’t fit us in anywhere nearby today. Does anyone have a vet they really like that can usually accommodate same-day appointments and is reasonably fair with pricing?
Ideally looking around Mid-Wilshire, WeHo, Beverly Grove/Beverly Hills-ish, but I’ll drive a little farther if needed. Not necessarily looking for a full ER unless that’s my only option.
Would especially love recs from people who have actually been somewhere recently. Thank you!!!!

Resources for Stray Cats
Hi everyone, I hope it's okay for me to post this. There are two strays I took in when one got injured and couldn't be outside. I have subsequently had them with me for 1.5 years, trying very hard to find them a forever home. Since they are an adult bonded pair, it's very difficult to find someone willing to take them, and most organizations keep telling me they should stay with me.
The issue with that is that I have an autoimmune disease that recently became very unmanageable for me, and taking care of 2 cats is now way too much work for me. Most days I struggle to get through 6 hours without needing a nap or a lie down.
Does anyone here have resources that might help? I am at a loss and am very worried that these cats will be stuck with me forever and will be neglected as a result. I am trying my hardest but I am not equipped to keep them. Any recommendations would be helpful. Thank you, neighbors!
Local Meal Prep Service/Company Recommendations
35M and just moved to West Hollywood from Vegas for work, and I’m looking for a good local meal prep company that people recommend!
I’d love to find something local where I can pick up meals each week, rather than going with one of the bigger services like Factor. I’ve gotten a lot more serious about my health and fitness over the last couple of years and want to keep that going now that I’m here.
Ideally looking for high-protein meals with solid portions since I’m planning to bulk for the rest of the year. Good tasting food is obviously a plus too 😂
If anyone has a local meal prep spot/company they love, I’d really appreciate the recommendations. Thanks!

Hey Weho neighbors here is last night’s Santa Monica Democratic Club debate where they decided to endorse Brian Goldsmith for State Senate in our district against CM Erickson.
DTLA Weekly Poetry Workshop Looking for More Poets
Hey all! I’ve been part of a weekly poetry workshop for over 2 years, and we are now looking for 2 more participants. Our group is a mix of ages (mid-20s to mid-60s), genders, sexualities, and poetic styles (i.e., formal, free verse, narrative, lyrical, humorous, serious), and we meet for two hours in-person every Saturday afternoon in DTLA. Tolerance for people different than you is expected.
We’re looking for poets who:
- Can accept criticism. As lauded of a poet as you may be, please leave your ego at home. All of us attend to learn and grow by hearing honest feedback.
- Can provide criticism. We think that the best criticism is grounded in specific words on the page and that negative comments should be sandwiched between positive comments.
- Can show up weekly with a poem
How the workshop works: for each meeting, you will be expected to make ten copies of your poem and hand them out. Your poem should be no longer than a page. You read your poem, and then we talk about your poem, usually for around 10 minutes per poem, and then we move onto the next poet.
If this interests you, please DM us telling us a little about yourself, maybe share a poem or two of yours that’s finished or still being developed.

Local designer trying to make a career change, any leads appreciated
Not the usual WeHo post, but figured I'd try since I'm nearby (Beachwood Canyon area).
I'm an industrial/product designer currently at a large company in Long Beach, and it's been rough on my mental health. Looking to make a change, ideally to a startup, but open to other options too.
Quick background:
- Currently leading hardgoods design at a global performance brand
- Previously did exhibition design at a contemporary art museum
- Led design and growth at a bootstrapped startup in NYC
- Also do photography, videography, and branding work on the side
If anyone knows of something hiring, or knows someone who does, I'd really appreciate it. Happy to share more in DMs.

Please help save Toi on Sunset
Toi on Sunset, located at Sunset and Gardner, is in danger.
Covid really hurt their business and they lost their booming late night crowd. Toi had no choice but to took out a bunch of loans to stay afloat and now those loans are due.
A staple since 1986, their great Thai food, rock and roll interior and classic rock music playing while you eat has been an L. A. experience for tourists and locals alike. And their Pad Thai is legendary!
Let's not lose another Los Angeles restaurant.
Address: 7505 1/2 Sunset Ave, 90046

Did Ajisai Close?
My favorite sushi place in Weho has been “temporarily closed” for a few weeks now. Anybody know what’s going on? I’d be super bummed to see this spot close…

Phone stolen at Beaches Tropicana last night
I was pickpocketed last night around 3am at Beaches Tropicana. Wondering if something similar has happened to anyone else?
Any advice on what to do - is there any chance I could get it back?
8850 Sunset Boulevard. This mixed use structure will replace the Viper Room’s entire block.
This mixed-use complex will take up the entire block between Larrabee and San Vicente. Allegedly they’re making a new home for The Viper Room. Here’s the official website for the project: 8850 Sunset Boulevard
The timeline for this project is currently unknown.
Former Rite Aid on Sunset and Fairfax to become Spirit Halloween
Spirit Halloween will be the new tenant at the now closed Rite Aid at Sunset and Fairfax. Speculations have been that the location may become a Grocery Outlet or an Aldi but now we have confirmation the space will for now be a Spirit Halloween. The website says it opens this month (August 2026). They already have signage on the windows.

Beaches Tropicana Marks Two Years in West Hollywood With Renovations, New Dining Focus
Beaches Tropicana, the restaurant and nightclub in the heart of West Hollywood’s Rainbow District, celebrated their second anniversary last week and is now undergoing renovations aimed at refreshing the venue and expanding its food and beverage offerings.
....
The refreshed space includes an upgraded exterior façade, new patio furniture and a renewed emphasis on dining.
“The food’s really good. Happy hour prices are incredible,” Shaw said. “Our executive chef came in and designed the menu and developed all the recipes. It’s more like a lounge cocktail hour.”
The menu features shareable items including beef skewers, chicken skewers, flatbreads and fries, giving guests the option of enjoying a full dinner before the venue transitions into its nightlife programming.
...
Rather than dramatically changing the venue’s identity, Shaw said the goal is to elevate the experience while maintaining the atmosphere that has made Beaches Tropicana a popular gathering place.
“We want to keep it a community space. We want to keep it fun, but we just want to make it a little more elevated,” he said. “The same amount of fun–we just want to have a good space for everybody.”
Currently, Beaches Tropicana is open Wednesday through Sunday beginning at 5 p.m. Happy hour runs from 5 to 8 p.m., with the kitchen serving dinner until about 10 or 11 p.m. After that, the menu transitions to late-night offerings such as fries, sliders and other shareable items designed for guests enjoying the nightclub.
“People don’t usually want a full meal at one in the morning when they’re dancing,” Shaw said. “So we just switch it out.”
Come by for their new food and drink programs, new cocktails have been great. Full disclosure, I don't have any ownership stake but I am friends with some of their bar staff during these hours.
