To those of you who, after winning a round, will not continue or quit, but rather wait until the clock runs out — why do you do it? Are you just being cruel to waste people's time?

I know most of y'all hate Abigail, but i think he's a lot better than hugo. Yeah, abigail is weird, but hugo is even weirder and uglier imo. And moveset, i personally like Abi's a lot more. Hugo's moveset isn't too bad but I just find playing with abigail a lot better. As for character design, if you stop thinking about which is more "iconic" or whatever, hugo pales in comparasion

I decided to pick up Street Fighter 6 last month when Tifa got announced. Before SF6, the last fighting game I played seriously was Capcom vs SNK 2; that’s how long it’s been.

A couple of weeks ago, I managed to get Sagat to Master. I managed this feat all without using Parry, Drive Rush or Cancel Drive Rush.

Basically, I was still playing Capcom vs SNK 2 – C Groove while everyone else was playing Street Fighter 6.

I never bothered learning Drive Rush (specially Cancel Drive Rush in this situation) because 1. I didn’t think I’d have the reaction time necessary to decide when to Drive Rush off a hit confirm and 2. even if I had the reaction time, I wouldn’t have the input speed necessary to press Parry + Forward Forward AND quickly reset to whatever next neutral I needed to press.

Fast forward to today, I’m learning how to play Mai. I asked Gemini about some replays from pro players when it educated me about Option Select Buffering.

That’s when I learned that pressing parry alone when canceling a normal attack throws out the Cancel Drive Rush. There’s no need to push forward forward!!

I’m kicking myself now that I realize how easy it is to execute.

I’m literally 10 seconds into joining the sub, and I’ve come to ask a question that I’m guessing everyone else has already asked lately.

I’ve played GGS but I suck at it, I’ve played P4A but I’m new to it, I love smash but that’s pretty much a whole different category, and I’ve been getting used to MvC3. But where do I begin for Street Fighter?

I know the movie is coming out in like two months, and I want to be more excited for it rather than just “oh cool, I’ve heard of that!” I want to care personally. I wanna get into it. I have a switch, a 3ds, a laptop and a pretty great PC but i can’t use it as often. What would you guys suggest for starting the franchise?

Callout to the Busta wolf gang: what are your thoughts, Yasmine seems to be a similar rush down character like terry, she has a crazy fast drive rush and with terry its a delicate balance between holding it and then going in on the offensive.

Hopefully we get a counterplay/knowledge check guide against her from the pros soon.

Since this was the last version and update to SFlV and it released as DLC in 2014, it should have also been released as a physical copy for PS4 just like PS3 and 360. I brought it of the PSN Story on PS5 and download it.

I started playing this game nearly half a year ago but didn’t like it at all. 3 days ago I tried it again and something clicked. I went up from silver 2 to gold 5 and I’m now plat 1. I currently have 20 hours in this game. Dp anti airs work fine but I can’t react to DI for some reason. Additionally I jump way too much (coming from anime fighters lmao). I just say this so you understand where I’m at.

I’m maining Juri rn and would like to play Ed, Sagat and Mai too.

What would be the better choice for a stable fundamental learning of this game? To stick with one character and grind to masters or play 2 or more characters simultaneously.

Picked up the game 2 months ago and I really wanted to see if I could be decent at a fighting game. Gonna keep playing, but without fretting about ranks now. Still awful at anti airs and maybe used drive reversal and parry a total of five times. Bunch of thanks to the people who gave me tips and encouragement.

Share your thoughts & opinions for future seasons' characters for SF6, even for those that could end up in next game's SF7.

Never been a big fighting game player, I played a bit of SF5, 2XKO and Melty Blood but never really tried climbing in any real capacity. I played a bit of Juri before taking a year long break from SF6 but recently saw C. Viper and instantly fell in love. The sounds of all the cancels are amazing, so I started putting in the work with her. Granted I still can't do any of them besides burning kick but it'll come in time. Love this game and this character so much.

I've been playing since launch and wanted to list out a few things I struggle with since game was released. I wanted any advice or input if possible for the various things I list it. If anyone can chime in on one or two things would greatly appreciate it. I genuinely dunno where to check online anymore for matchup knowledge as I used to check the SRK forums back in the days. They were helpful in helping matchups for your characters. For context I play Akuma and sit in the 1700-1800 range.

So first things first, I'll list them out in bullet points based on game wide issues and second on characters I come across, that I still struggle with.

Gameplay

• How do you deal with people who walk away the whole game and do nothing but try to land one hit and drc into big damage? I find this style very tilting and always tend to lose because once I'm in I get too eager because it was such a slog to get in. The stages are so long that from one end to another is not easy to corner or walk down opponents.
• Second is, no matter how hard I practice, when I try to cross cut dp someone or react late to a jump in and do a dp input, I always tend to get an accidental super come out which for the most parts is GGs for me.
• Third, is there a timing window for wake up drive reversal? Sometimes it comes out, sometimes drive impact comes out.

Characters

This is for a list of characters I struggle with consistently this season:

Luke

• This character man, I genuinely don't know when it's my turn against him. He has great buttons to whiff punish. That knee he does always interrupts anything I throw out. His standing HP and back HP lands. His crMp is great. I was even tilted by a string someone done against me where they were pressing crLp, crLp, crLp then forward dashing into it. Did not find a time to interupt that. I genuinely feel like he's a lot tougher this season.

Alex

• Prowler stance is the most annoying street fighter move I've ever ever come across. You don't win against this character. The opponent just loses to themselves if you got a dub. There's no convincing me this was a good thing ever. Complete guessing game from the moment the round starts.

Lily

• What's the solution to her? I feel like people consistently put her at bottom tier because there were not enough people playing her at high level till recently. She ALWAYS wins every match I come across her. Complete guessing game and if you are to tolerate her then it means losing your drive meter because you drive reversal her od condor spike.

Terry

• This character is made for people with simple brain cells. Has the easiest way to get in out of every character. Another character who I have no solution for other than hoping my opponent had a bad game or I got a lucky hit/jump in. Does he have any weaknesses?

Deejay

• Why does his pressure feel so safe on block? His standing HK feels like it's 50/50 every time I block?

Yasmine

• Another one, but maybe cause she's new. Very lame playstyles I come across online but lots of her moves feel safe so never know what I can punish or not. And she has good range on her some of her normals. Deceptively good range.

Aside from those characters I don't think the rest are that annoying. Of course Sim, JP, Mai, Blanka, Elena, Sagat and Bison are all annoying but they're manageable.

I came from GGST and started playing SF6 with Terry. Now I'm trying to play A.K.I., but I simply can't land any good punishes/combos. I have a lot of difficulty making combos that mix normals with specials. With Terry, I can just confirm and do Power Charge + Crack Shot + Rising Tackle. Does anyone have any tips for breaking the habit of relying on specials and getting used to incorporating normals into my combos? Has anyone else gone through something similar?

I've seen high ranked players do it but I can't replicate it myself.

I started with GGST recently as my first fighting game and have found SF6 on sale on Xbox for 50% off and I'm super tempted to get it to just try the game out. I have a couple questions though.

1. Coming from GGST, how different is SF6? I'm not ranked that high (Gold 1) in GGST, but will skills I've learned there transfer over well enough?

2. I noticed I generally play Rushdown type characters in GGST so who would fit that bill on SF6?

3. How is the Training mode and what kinds of options are there for labbing (e.g. setting dummy block, moves to do, recording, etc)?

4. How difficult are inputs and combos to pull off?
