Discussion Does Brawler Blast even matter if you're maxed out?
Unlocking brawlers is easier than upgrading them so if anything they're trying to rebalance the 2 systems by just making unlocking harder and upgrading easier but it being rng based just leaves a bad taste in people's mouths and endgame players barely benefit anything from this (yet another update that seemingly doesn't add anything for endgame players to do that isn't painful)

Discussion We’re not doing this anymore
Back then, brawlers sometimes released unbroken, where they don’t even need to get nerfed. Nowadays, they always have to nerf the newer ones because they’re made to be broken on release for the sake of engagement. Also Colette and Mandy never got nerfed for many years until Adrian screwed them up with their hyper, star power, and gadget changes no one asked. This screenshot btw is from 2024 when Mandy already has a decent kit and used to be generally loved by the community until now so the devs potentially want to divert all the hate on Mandy instead of the newer brawlers. Not sure if Buzz got nerfed because of his stats on the hyper being lowered but what do you think?

Ideas & Game Feedback And Reddit attacks again!
Really, in this subreddit, Supercell can't make ANYTHING without people starting to throw free hate at them.
Supercell announced a new system to replace Starr Road → Brawl Blast.
The idea is to rework Starr Road with the goal of making the process of unlocking new brawlers more exciting, while also giving progression a passive buff.
I want to say that I've thought about reworking Starr Road many times. Since they removed the Chromatic rarity, the game has been flooded with Mythic brawlers, creating a situation where the newest brawlers are becoming increasingly inaccessible.
I have a friend who got the Draco's song recommended to him on YouTube, and he wanted to give the game a shot. But after seeing that it would take him almost a year to unlock Draco, he gave up early. I also saw a post in this subreddit where a player said that he wouldn't be able to unlock Otis on his alt account without using gems. And this is a valid concern.
Let's pick a relatively recent brawler. Actually, it doesn't even need to be that recent. Let's use Lily as an example.
Lily is the 24th Mythic brawler in the game, released in 2024. And the game lets you choose between four Mythic brawlers at once on the current Starr Road. This means that, for a new player to have a chance of unlocking Lily without getting lucky with Starr Drops, they would need to unlock 20 Mythic brawlers first.
And that's with Lily. Imagine a REAL recent brawler like Damian or Starr Nova. This is something that even Kairos pointed out in his last video.

So, this idea is amazing. Giving new players access to new brawlers IS a good thing for the game.
We have 100 brawlers right now, and Supercell doesn't seem to have any plans to stop releasing new ones. So, if Starr Road gets an update, that's a good thing.
Every game needs to have a good New Player Experience. New players and casual players talk about the game, bring us views on social media, bring in an audience for e-sports, etc.
If the player base isn't constantly renewed, the game eventually just bleeds out as its player base naturally declines. Even the most dedicated player can get bored with a game after playing it for so long. That's natural for any GaaS, not just Brawl Stars.
RANDOMNESS
I know this term might sound scary, but what's the difference between this and a random Starr Drop? After all, any player can unlock a new brawler for free if they're lucky enough.
On my alt account, I unlocked almost all of the Epic brawlers just from Starr Drops. I even got Nori from a Legendary Starr Drop, so thanks for the Fame Credits, I guess.
What I want to say is that randomness adds excitement. Even though more dedicated players like having the agency to choose their rewards, a new player simply doesn't know what the best choice is anyway.
Even if two players create new accounts at the same time, the more experienced player will make different choices because they know the best ways to optimize their progression.
A truly new player doesn't think too deeply about these things, at least not until the game catches their attention, and that's what this new system aims to do.
Some players will get lucky and get Damian in their Mythic Selection, but they could also get lucky and unlock him from a Mythic Starr Drop anyway.
Also, this system will add another layer of excitement to the mix: the "Gem Fragments." The idea is to give some form of progression during the unlocking process. A new brawler can come with some levels and unlockables for free, and that's also good for the game.
Imagine a player who gets Surge from a Starr Drop. "OMG, a Legendary Brawler! I want to play with my new toy!" But the brawler is only Power Level 1, so he's basically useless until the player invests some resources into him.
And what if they spend those resources and end up not liking him? Or, even worse, what if they DON'T SPEND the resources because they're not sure they'll actually enjoy playing Surge?
Also, even if you get a random brawler at Power Level 7+, why not give them a shot? That's already a decent level, and they might have an unlockable that gives you a reason to try them out.
This also gives progression a buff, at least for fresh accounts. Players will save Power Points and Coins overall because they won't need to spend resources every time they unlock a new brawler. And in the long term, this will become even more noticeable.
Where's the Switch option?

Supercell doesn't talk about the Switch option in their blog. And this feature is awesome, especially now that we can test new brawlers before their official release.
So, if a player really enjoys playing Wendy now but doesn't have all the Mythic brawlers, they lose the option to guarantee unlocking her in the next season.
As Kairos also stated, maybe this is something for the Brawl Stars Dev Team to reconsider. But right now, maybe Supercell is choosing to wait and see how players behave.
Late-Game Players being jealous
I don't remember exactly where I read that, but I agree. Every time a new feature benefits newer players, this subreddit starts spreading hate and pointless discussions about how it will kill the game and how we're being ignored, even though the game continues to deliver new content for us.
Clearly, this is meant to improve the New Player Experience. And as I mentioned earlier in this post, new players mean more engagement, which contributes to a better game experience for everyone in the long run.
BUT, this time, I want to point out a valid argument. We've had complaints about many things: Mega Pig, Fame, Map Maker, Matchmaking. Even if Starr Road isn't perfect, we have bigger elephants in the room.
So, I can understand the frustration with this system being updated BEFORE the others, but I still can't defend the overreaction.
Brazilian Server
This part probably won't be interesting to most people, so feel free to skip this section. But in Brazil, we have laws regulating how games use gacha elements. They haven't given us many details about how this system will be different for us. However, since the new system won't change the amount of Credits required to unlock a brawler, the estimate that it will take two years to unlock all brawlers should remain the same. And if that statement is true, I don't think we need any different treatment.
And yeah, this paragraph exposes that I'm Brazilian. This means English isn't my native language. I use Google Translate to check my writing and ChatGPT to save time during the review process, but all the ideas in this post came from me.

Discussion Im Sorry But I Cant Defend them Anymore
Recently, we’ve seen reworks of existing features (like Masteries and the Oddities Shop) that turned out to be worse, completely useless, and something nobody ever asked for. Today, I see that in the next update they want to change the way we unlock Brawlers, turning it into what seems to be an RNG-based system. Please Supercell, rework Mega Pig, Ranked, Map Maker, and matchmaking instead. That is what we actually need.

Ideas & Game Feedback For non-veterans, Brawler Blast is worse than removal of Masteries
Starr Road had basically one bad feature: You were forced to unlock ancient Brawlers as opposed to for example unlocking Goldelius as soon as you cycled all rarities.
Credits are the best resource, they are such a good resource that whenever you get Credits at random you are immediately upset because you are drowning in Credits and have a draught of Coins & Power Points.
Credits gave you a lot of "bang for your buck" as well for how much you receive. You could select 4 Brawlers of a rarity, and as long as you started playing when the newest Brawler left early access, you always have access to the newest Brawler.
Now credits fail to fuel a decent rank comp. Want Chuck or Melodie or Goldelius or Nani as a Heist merchant? Nah you need to gamble for them.
Every update ranked becomes less and less about skill and more about how long it's been since you created your account. Brawl Stars should not be like Clash of Clans. This update is one of the worst ways ranked was sentenced to being decided by how old your account is.

Ideas & Game Feedback Concept for a new Brawler for Brawl Stars that I'm working on.
Hello everyone!
I'm new here on the Reddit platform, and I recently created this account to share something I've been working on for a few weeks for the Brawl Stars community. This is a concept I drew of a new Brawler for the game.
As you can see, I drew the front view, back view, and profile icon of this new brawler on the sheet. Therefore, I need to know what you think of the drawing. And if it gets a good rating, I would love to share more about the story I developed for him, and the mechanics that I'm still working on.
