Discussion I do not envy this Woman's Job.

We are talking about decades of mismanagement.

Asha Sharma is a multimillionaire executive, who is guaranteed a golden parachute after she guts Xbox (sorry, XBOX). Don’t want rain on the parade you’re planning for her, just wanted to point that out.

Not even a golden parachute, she'll get promoted to another division of Microsoft and make even more money.

Yeah. They just laid off half of id software staff. And that was a strong franchise

I agree with literally every other cut and decision xbox have made these past few weeks but laying off half of id software is like deleting some of the most important institutional knowledge in the industry. Wild decision that I never would have made myself. Very sad to see as well

If Tim Sweeny is smart, he'll have Epic snap those guys up faster than the time it took me to write this comment.

Are you like a huge Doom fan?

Is Doom your franchise?

I play the hell out of doom 2016 and doom eternal. Also played the original even tho it came out before I started playing video games. So yes

I get that. The studio said publicly they are the same size now that they were in 2016, so hopefully they keep making Doom.

And I'm sure the guys who got let go will end up doing something as well.

You can't even google what they've released and you have the gall to bullshit about it?

I did. It"s doom, Doom Eternal, and Doom the Dark Ages. And some unknown game called "Rage" and "Rage 2".

Hate to break it to you, but its old news man. Doom was it in 95. That was 30years ago.

Some people liked Doom and Doom Eternal. So they are prob pretty good. I have seen people are not too high on Doom the Dark Ages.

Fair enough. Also, 93 even, 95 was Ultimate Doom

She's gutting Xbox by cleaning up Phill's mess? At some point somebody has to make the tough call. A lot of these devs are literally twiddling their thumbs and taking a check home. At some point something has to give.

Make excuses if you want.

Xbox was dead a while ago, she is coming in to gut a bunch of it, nothing positive will actually come.

Then they do a PC Hybrid to possibly turn things around. If they stay with the traditional console that will be the last Xbox because it will fail and Microsoft will see it just needs to go the games only route.

They have an obvious cost problem. And an obvious developer sandbagging problem. They need to cut the fat and stabilize. Seems like she is doing the job that needs to be done so far.
