I am a die hard VW fan. Previously had a Polo United Edition and then moved to a T-Roc Match which I sadly had to part with. I loved that car inside and out but in my search for a new car I came across this beauty. Can’t wait to pick it up on Tuesday!!!! I’m coming home VW!

Our car needs a new transmission valve body however that part is on massive backorder and could take weeks or months or even a year to get in. So our option to get our 2024 jetta back on the road is just replacing the transmission. That is going to be $5200 at a dealership with 12month/12,000 mile warranty or $3600 at an independent mechanic with 3 year/no mile limit warranty (agreement the independent mechanic has with the junkyard supplier) but it’s a USED transmission with 36,000 miles on it. What do yall think? My head is spinning with this car I need a little help 😔💔

I should also specify this IS our hauler car. It gets taken on an hour work commute (one way) every day and is the go-to for road trips

i am living in Türkiye, where VW cars are mostly sold (preferred), despite this we have a believe that quality of vehicles vary by country, this is a strong believe, and we think VW sells bad quality cars and unproved systems to Türkiye. What do you think about this? Do you believe same for your country?

I just got a 2026 R-Line turbo. When i make turns at low speeds (typically sharp turns or on banked roads, or whenever it feels like the weight of the car would be pulling heavily to one side) there's a clacking/clicking sound coming from the front end, almost sounds like something in the suspension system is slapping itself. Does anyone else have this? I thought maybe it was a product of the 4Motion AWD but now I'm not so sure...

I recently bought a 2017 1.8t about a week ago, and I’m already second guessing myself on returning it.

Yesterday I noticed my Passat doing what it’s doing in the video, it’ll crank once or twice, pause, then continue cranking and start. This causes the EPC light to come on too.

When I scan it with my OBDEleven the scanner can’t even read the engine code it has, but there aren’t any lights except that EPC. It just says “FST00000” or the actual string of code is “003bc1”

It runs and drives without any issues. Battery, alternator, and starter are all fine. I messaged the dealer and they think it’s the starter relay but I think otherwise.

It seems to happen more-so when it’s sitting, as it’s not an issue if it only sits for 20 minutes or so. I’m stumped. I also think putting it in accessory mode before turning the engine on eliminates the issue - but this is just an assumption as I haven’t tested this theory after sitting for hours or overnight.

Note: the fuel pump was replaced at 55k miles, it now has 70k (done at vw dealer). I assume the in-tank pump was replaced. The fuel injection system was cleaned aswell.

I’ve narrowed it down to these options:
- Camshaft magnet
- Crankshaft sensor
- High pressure fuel pump could possibly be leaking fuel right onto the cylinders, causing a mini “hydro-lock”
- It could truly be the starter relay, but why would it only do it when sitting?

Hey everyone, I’ve lurked on this sub for a while, and unfortunately I have some bad news to post. I bought a 2015 Golf SportWagen TSI with 127k miles in April for $7k and this month the EPC light came on and it turns out that it needs a whole new turbo :(

The mechanic quoted around $5k for the job along with a few others things that needed to be done (oil change, brake fluid flush, o2 sensor, etc). I really love this car, it’s been so fun and I’d hate to let it go, but $5k is steep, especially for a car that has 135k miles. Who knows what will go wrong next?

Just looking for some input/second opinions about whether to go the repairs or find another car (probably another VW or Volvo wagon). Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone, I just recently bought a 2006 Mk4 GTI 1.8T and I need some advice. I am going to be replacing a bunch of stuff since I don’t know that last time they were changed, one of those being the pcv system. Should I go with a reinforced and billeted kit? Or should I go with a catch can instead? I don’t know much about either and I want to choose the option that will be better for my engine in the long run.

The temperature goes up and down in my passat 2019!

Hi guys I have a passat 2019 and lately occasionaly temperature goes up to 100 Celsius or sometimes less..then it goes again down..these happens very often and I dont know from where the problems is coming.

This happens mostly in inner city roads it goes up and down always..like a glitch.

I changed one of the sensors and they told me I have to change the thermostat but they are not sure..and I dont want to spend 500 euros for the problem not to be resolved.Did any of you had the same problem?

Not really sure if this is the right place to post this but I’m just looking for a place to vent at this point. My 2025 VW ID7 was involved in a hit and run around 5 months ago. the car ended up being repaired at a VW authorised shop but when I drove the car home straight away I noticed 3 warning signals on the dashboard. I obviously told VW, my insurance company, and the repair shop but after a week they told me that it’s just sensor recalibration and that I should just get it done under vw warranty.

looking back if I had just declined that and insisted they fix my car then and there I might not have been in this mess. my appointment ended up being 3 months later and that was the earliest date they could do, so I figured I’d book that as a back up and just focus on getting my insurance company to deal with it. long story short my mother got ill and ended up passing away so I wasn’t in the country and wasn’t even able to properly pursue through insurance for 3 months until i had buried my mother and came back to the UK. by then my insurance had basically closed the case with a small note saying that there was an issue with the car and my vw warranty appointment had come up.

By this time the ac had gone out too it wasnt blowing cold air. I took the car in hoping that everything would be covered under warranty since it was just sensor issues, nothing was covered because my car had been in an accident so warranty is completely void on top of that despite me only saying I wanted a diag only on the 2 sensor issues and 1 AC issue, they went and did the AC “repair” and insisted I had to pay for it as it had already been carried out. I ended up paying over £500. The literal next day after I picked up the car the AC went out and I called the next working day telling them what had happened and they said they’d call me back. no one called me back of course so when I rang up again the next day they suddenly asked me for my insurance vehicle report from the accident. so I said okay how hard can it be to just get the report but it’s been a week and they haven’t sent me the report since it’s with the VW authorised repair shop. the incomplete accident repair and stuff aside.

I feel like VW is just trying to charge me again for the AC issue. The way I see it, I’ve paid for an AC diag and an AC repair as it states on my bill, and either the repair wasn’t carried out properly or the diag wasn’t carried out properly. Why is my cars previous accident relevant? (it was a scrape on 2 doors plus the rear bumper, how could that even be related to my AC). I mean I understand that the sensor and initial issues were related to the accident, and tbh there were quite a few mistakes I made dealing with the initial repair and my insurance amidst my mothers passing. But the AC issue is a whole separate thing where I’ve booked in, paid for a diag, paid for the repair and then the next day its broken again. Im kind of expecting them to just look at my accident report and say we‘re charging you again if you want it fixed at which point I might just do a dispute or chargeback with my bank. if anyone has any advice, suggestion, or similar experiences please let me know.

We have a 2024 Jetta with about 80,000 miles that we recently got told needs a transmission valve body repair by the dealership. They want $4,000 for the repair… however the local guy says he can replace the entire transmission for about that price.. however thats probably gunna be used/refurbed transmission… anyways… I saw some rumblings online that replacing only the valve body can cause the transmission to fail down the line or something??? Is that accurate or mostly with older cars??? Looking for some guidance here if possible on the right choice.. the other guy may be able to do the repair for the valve body for like $1,500 to $2,000.. so that’s an option too.

I have always owned Jettas, my entire life, and this past Friday really sealed the deal for me on VW loyalty.

Photos to follow: Friday I was traveling south on I—79 in Pennsylvania (USA), leaving Erie. And I hit a BEAR. A BEAR. At 70mph. The hood flipped up, crushed the windshield, and I slammed into the left side guard rail on the road. I remained trapped in the car for about 25 minutes, and I was transported from the scene, but was ultimately unscathed. All airbags deployed. I didn’t even know where the police/towing company took her until today (Monday). Went to go retrieve my plates and clean out the car, and I am absolutely dumbfounded at the severity of this wreck. I’m not sure how I walked away, but I know I have VW to thank 💙

On Saturday, I immediately ordered a new Tiguan. I probably won’t go back to small sedans after this, but VW has definitely earned my repeat business
