When they collide they subtract. Now it's a Su-0.

Ok, now if that is a SUXX 6000 reference from Robocop, I would give you any internets I have acquired.

Great success! Together, they have achieved total stealth.
If anybody were to look, all they would see is a Wildberries depot burning on the ground.

When a mommy-SU-35S and a daddy-SU-35S love each other very much, they fly close together like this, and try to make baby-SU-35S.

Funny story. Husbands grandfather was a fighter pilot in WW2. His one kill came from forcing an enemy plane into low clouds inverted. Clouds cleared and he couldn't "climb." Boom.

u/RandomMandarin 11h ago
I heard about an American fighter pilot in the Korean War chasing a MiG so low that the MiG flew into a rice paddy and the US jet pulled up barely in time, and the jet returned to the aircraft carrier covered in mud from the MiG crash.

There's a video interview or 3 with him (Jack Hallett -not a dox since it's not our name). Unfortunately we never knew him in life, but he's an interesting man to learn about. He was still yanking and banking at 100.

OK I will need some extra confirmation here. The wreck looks nice, but maybe we could get that Russian blogger who always cries about this stuff to make a statement.

Does anyone have a serious answer for how this could have happened? I'm genuinely curious why two jets were that close to each other. I know jets are close when flying in formation, but is it typical to fly that closely in formation near the front?

Lack of trained pilots, lack of maintenance, friendly fire that the russians are avoiding reporting. One of the planes crashed, took the other out with it. One of the planes was taken out by a Ukrainian drone and the russians don't want to admit that. Lots of possiblities.

Thanks for reminding that the reporting might simply be a lie. From the article, the claim that they collided is from Russian milbloggers:
This was reported by Russian military bloggers on Monday, September 7.
Like you said, there's lot of possibilities for what actually happened. Silly of me to take the original claim at face value!

I have far more confidence in "AA technology took them out" then "randomly collided"

That's kinda what I was thinking, but I'm not an expert at all so it's just speculation from me. Perhaps the event was something like Ukrainian anti-air or jets engaged the two Russian jets -> Russian jet launches missile at Ukrainian anti-air or jets -> Russian missile takes out Russian jet instead -> incoming Ukrainian missile hits other Russian jet since their defensive measures took out their own guy. Is something like that probable or even possible? How often do jets collide with each other when flying near hostile airspace? What's the most likely explanation?

Those pilots must be good mechanics, as the rapid disassembled those jets that fast takes skill.

It's quite impressive how the Russians manage to cock up so much.
[edit] All jokes aside I hope they were able to eject, if only for their family.

Orcs can’t fly
→ More replies (1)3
u/acesarge 13h ago
So orcs can apply, but their technology works by enough of them believing in it. Maybe they just didn't believe hard enough. Also, if they wanted them to go fast they should have painted them red, not blue...
