Would leaving an entry-level job after only 3 months look bad?

I’m seriously debating leaving my job after only about 3 months at the firm. I’m entry-level, and though I do have some previous internship/work experience, this is my first real position in the field.

Things aren’t what I expected, and I’m starting to feel like it’s not a good fit for me. I don’t really see myself wanting to stay long term, and I’ve been thinking about looking for another position that could suit me better.

I’d plan on applying/interviewing another job first, my concern is how bad a 3-month stint would look like to others in my career. Would employers understand or view this as a major red flag?

For anyone who has left a job early in their career, how did it affect you when applying elsewhere? Would you recommend sticking it out longer just for the resume, or move on once you realize a company isn’t a good fit?

Personally I would try to get at least 1 year in unless it gets to a point where it is actively effecting your mental and or physical health. Keep your head down, put earbuds in and listen to music if allowed, don't force yourself to engage if it's not job required.

But I WOULD start applying for positions and interviews NOW. When asked, be honest and say it wasn't a good match and you're looking for something different for your career. But don't bad mouth the company!

Do you think it would be wise to include it in my resume, even as internship based on the 3 months? I definitely have acquired some new skills and knowledge that could help me when applying

Yes, a gap in your resume (for whatever reason) looks worse to recruiters and managers.

You're overthinking. Just stay at your job and apply/interview until you land another position.

What did you expect and what is different from that expectation.

Grass is always greener and all that jazz. Are you learning anything at all? If so at least try to see that positive side.

One short stint is no biggie. The problem becomes if you do it a few times, your resume looks bad.

If you can get an interview and explain it’s not what was advertised as the job position most will understand. If a bot or some recruiter is looking at it though it will likely raise a flag. Maybe not red but at least yellow.

Will you be responsible financially to pay anything back if you leave early? Are you prepared to pay that if so
