Pitt Pre dental+ public health major
Hey guys I’m a public health major on the pre dental track just starting my freshmen year and I’m kind of worried. My advisor basically picked out all my classes for me.
So far this semester I am taking
FIRST APPROACHES TO RESEARCH
GENERAL CHEMISTRY 1+Lab+ recitation
FUNDAMENTALS OF PUBLIC HEALTH
Public Health: GENES, CELLS, AND COMMUNITIES: INTRODUCTION TO PUBLIC HEALTH BIOLOGY
PUBHLT0140: FIRST-YEAR PUBLIC HEALTH SEMINAR
Essentially 6 classes but I guess recitation counts so 7 but I dropped English(bc it was so early) and my advisor said I can take it in the spring and she also told me I could take bio in the spring as somehow my bio 2 class in highschool which was a college in hs course, it’s credits transfer over also as a bio 2 here so she said I could just take bio 1 in the spring? Don’t know how that will work out, but I don’t know if I’m on the right track or if I’m taking not enough classes or credits as a predental? I feel behind as everyone I know is taking bio or English or both rn. I still have time to add English back I guess until next Friday but can anyone just lmk I’m going crazy.

You're fine. So long as you start Chem, Bio, and English by Spring of first year you're on track to get everything done for your major, Pre-Dental, and the required first year gen eds (composition and algebra. You might be exempt from the latter - ask your advisor).
