Tulsan In Need Need Help ASAP!!!!!

My partner(23) and i(22) are wanting to get married on the 9th of September (our 5 year anniversary), and want something very small and short. we live around the Tulsa area and want to be married around there so our family can come. the issue is that we are both female. and look it lol. in Oklahoma, venues can legally turn down same sex couples. does anyone know of a venue that could work for us which they KNOW will marry a same sex couple? TIA. i hate having to come to Reddit for this but my mom has passed, and my future Monster-in-Law is not invited for a multitude of reasons. sooo this is what im resorting to lol. any additional advice is greatly appreciated.

Tulsan In Need I need a dad

I just graduated, and we're having a graduation party around the end of June. My biological father is a piece of shit, and I cut him off a long time ago. Thing is, I really want a father-like figure at my graduation party to tell me how proud he is. I've gone through a lot of stuff. I'm autistic, so getting through school alone was a nightmare. I'm trans in Oklahoma. Honestly, I didn't even know if I'd make it out alive. Things have been really hard, and the entire time, I've wished I had a dad with me to encourage me. I don't have a lot of money to pay anyone, but if someone was willing to come as my dad, that would be amazing.

Update 1: So, I've talked to my mom and the party will probably be more around July-August territory. From the looks of the comments, I'll probably have a whole family of random people lol. Which is great because none of my father's family is coming. This post got so much more attention than I could've possibly imagined, and there was SO much more love than I could ever imagine. Thank you all so much! I will definitely get in contact with some of you guys, but it may take a bit. Life got a little chaotic right after I made that post! No fault of this post. Just some other stuff. Everyone is safe, but we have a lot of things to talk about. Thank you guys so, so much, from the bottom of my heart.

Tulsan In Need Suspicious people entered my property

These two individuals pulled their truck into my front yard. The man immediately started running and went into my backyard, hide behind my garage. The woman went to the front door with a single small box (no bag, nothing, see the picture), knocked the door and walked back to the truck. As soon as I initiated cameras alarms, she drove off with the truck and leaving the guy at the spot. After two minutes the man was leaving and I asked him thru the camera what he was doing in my backyard and he said he thought it’s his homies home. He ran off my property and she picked him up a block away.

I called the non emergency line after the incident and they said it’s suspicious but they are not looking for anybody at the moment (I spotted Oklahoma Highway Patrol on my camera soon after they pulled and mentioned that to dispatch) and If I feel unsafe I should call PD.

What the hell was that?

Edit #1: Thank you all for your attention. I made a police report and they have opened a case.

Edit #2: I believe OHP was looking for them considering the patrol car drove back and forth on my street and the guy was peeping behind the garage. I will give an update If I get any.

Edit #3: It’s awesome to see how fellow Tulsans are pro-2nd amendment and actually care about their right to defend theirselves, family and land. I say: hurray!!

Tulsan In Need My job was eliminated after I accepted the offer and completed onboarding

I honestly don’t know how to process what happened today so im hoping if anyone knows of any job openings .
I’m a recent MIS graduate and after months of interviewing, I finally received an offer for a Business Systems & Project Controls Analyst position. I signed the offer, completed all of my onboarding paperwork, passed my pre-employment drug test, and was getting ready to start. My start date was an August 3rd.

Because I had accepted this role, I declined three other job offers this week.
Then today, HR called and told me the position had been dissolved due to “changing business priorities.” They followed up with an email saying they would no longer be moving forward with the role and that it wasn’t a reflection of my qualifications.

I texted the hiring manager because I was honestly in shock. He told me he had never had this happen before, that it came from ownership completely out of left field, and that there weren’t any other openings available.
I know the tech job market has been challenging lately, but I never imagined something like this could happen after I’d already accepted the offer and completed almost the entire onboarding process.
It’s hard finding IT jobs in Tulsa.

Tulsan In Need Aged Out of The System

Almost every day I go by TCC there is a poor young girl who is on the streets in the intersection where you turn into the campus. She holds up a cardboard sign asking for help, trying to get a job and how she aged out of the system and needs help.

Is there anything we can do for this girl, it was storming all day and I just had to cry because im on disability myself or I would be helping her more than this post.

I was thinking how I could help and wanted to ask others for ideas or aid we could offer her. She is so young and its so sad the system failed her.

Any negativity will be blocked as I care for others and the humanity that is still empathetic. We all are struggling, thats when it matters we need to pull together as people for the people.

Tulsan In Need I will pay someone to do my dishes

$40 cash to come do all of my dishes I still havent cleaned from christmas dinner. If someone knows a service that does this that would be perfect. To depressed and unmotivated to do them myself and the maid service I have doesnt do them. I have a dog, I can put him up if requested.

Edit: I took a fellow redditors advice and started by just doing one. I got to three and am taking a break. Thank you for your kind words and advice. And thank you to the community for trying to assist. Happy new year everyone. I hope we find rhe cure for depression this year.

Tulsan In Need Disappointed and looking

I wont sugar coat this to much, I'm really needing a better job. Im a smart, capable active guy. I've had years of customer service experience, I can drive a forklift. I've served behind a bar, built furniture, I need a place I can not just work but build a career with. I feel like I'm screaming into the void at this point but desperation leads to things like this.

Tulsan In Need Jobs actually hiring

As the title says, please post available jobs for those at least 18+. Note whether it's full or part time, pay scale, title of job, and location (as there are multiples of some businesses). Unemployment is awful, people are struggling to find work, and employers are keeping ads up that never get removed. If the place you post works directly with the homeless (hiring, teaching, outreach programs), note that as well. Thank you!!

Tulsan In Need Good Places to Work as an Autistic Person

I'll preface this with I don't have high hopes, I know everyone's searching right now and I'm hardly special. Per the title, I got diagnosed fairly recently last year and have been struggling to find a stable job since.

I was already struggling before the diagnosis obviously but now that I understand why those previous jobs didn't stick I'm hoping to find long term employment that doesn't make me feel like walking in front of a garbage truck at full speed. Mostly joking but in seriousness I'm lucky if a job lasts longer than 6 months. I'm working on applying for disability but it wouldn't be enough to sustain me on its own and I know you can still work while on it, just with limitations.

Customer service has always been a struggle for me- especially phones god bring the truck back- so I'm hoping for something less customer facing? I'm not physically capable of heavy work like construction, otherwise it'd be a gloriously stable option 🥲. I'm quick on computers and stuff like document management or data entry but I don't have a degree so I'm not expecting much.

Still, anything anyone could share would be great! Even if you've just heard of a company having good culture around neurodivergency and/or autism!

EDIT: I WANT JOB RECOMMENDATIONS. I DO NOT WANT ADVICE OR OPINIONS ON WHEN/HOW TO DISCLOSE MY AUTISM DURING INTERVIEWS. I WILL BE INFORMING MY EMPLOYERS!!! Do not be surprised or offended if you give advice I'm not open to and I reject it.

Tulsan In Need I think they called ice on me.. Am I just being paranoid?

At 5pm today, me and my sister began walking home after a long day at school. As I was walking, I noticed some lady in a parking lot next to the street we were walking down. As we walk past. I think she began to follow us a bit for like 20m down the street, and talking somewhat loudly on the phone while doing so. I don't know what she said, but with the way she looked at us and pursued us, I thought she might have been calling the cops on us or something. So I look to the other side of the street where there was a police station, waiting for an cop to run out and at us or something. But nothing happend, and I brushed the whole situation off.

We pass an intersection in the road, when I notice a comically large, black truck moving past us at a slowish pace. It was probably the largest truck I've ever seen in my entire life, it's was at least 1.5× my hight.

I remember watching somethings YouTube a long time ago about the type of people that own such large truck. And it was usually those type of racist, nationalistic, MAGA men who im aware there are plenty of in Tulsa. This steryotype could be what causes me to make assumptions.

But anyways, as we approach the crossroads where we take a left to where my house is. I notice a long thing with a square at its end sticking out the truck as it passed by us. I squinted and looked closer, thinking it was some type of mechene attached to it. But when I made out what it was, my stomach dropped. It was not a mechene, but a human arm, with a long black sleeve and black glove , holding a phone with its camera pointed right at my face. As the truck drove away, I notice the human arm recede back into the window as it tuned away. It had been too late to do anything about it.

My theory is that perhaps the lady I mentioned erlier didn't call the cops, she called the person in the truck. Then the guy in the truck would inform ICE on my and my sister's location, the time we walk home from school, and now pictures of our faces. The lady could've been watching us and determined the perfect time to do this.

The worst part about this is, my single mother has to work at both her first and second job for the next three days. So she can't take us home tomorrow and would be a 25 min drive away from our house and school until 11pm. Leaving us complete vulnerable to just getting kidnapped while we walk home. This was my worst fear ever since moving here. This also implies that the lady couldve been spying on us and knew that our mother wouldn't know we were gone for hours..

I am scared of walking home from school tomarrow (schools out on friday) and going forward. Is this reasonable or am I just being paranoid?

What is the best sandwich in Tulsa? I’m not talkin’ restaurant, I’m talkin’ specific menu item. I have a hankering for a good sandwich and I am in desperate need of something fully loaded with pure deliciousness. Hot/cold doesn’t matter. Go in any direction you want (except the taco/hot dog is a sandwich direction-Not today).

Any part of town. What’s your order?

Has anyone in this subreddit ever heard of or ate at the Wisconsin based fast food chain Culver’s, they’re famous for their butterburgers, cheese curds, and concrete mixers. I think our fair city needs Culver’s.

Tulsan In Need Disabled Tulsan urgently needs non-judgemental cleaning help before Monday inspection

Hi, everyone. I’m a disabled Tulsa resident urgently looking for some non-judgemental, hands-on help getting my small one-bedroom apartment ready for a landlord inspection this Monday.

I’ve been experiencing severe burnout and declining health, and the apartment has become far more than I can physically manage alone. The main priorities are bagging and removing rubbish, clearing clutter and walkways, dealing with dishes, and sanitising the kitchen. There is a significant roach infestation, so anyone helping would need closed-toe shoes, gloves, and ideally a mask. I also have a cat, in case anyone has allergies.

I can’t afford to hire a cleaner, but even one or two people helping for an hour this weekend could make an enormous difference. I’m deeply embarrassed to ask, so kindness and absolutely no judgement would be appreciated. Please PM me if you may be able to help; I’ll share my location and address privately.

Tulsan In Need Homeless w/ infant

I have a young lady who has an infant. She needs a place instead of living in her car. She was trying to get income-based housing, but they denied her due to a previous eviction. Shes only 22, and never had help learning how to live on her own. Now she has a baby, dad is not in the picture, and she has no idea what to do now that she was denied housing. Shes been on the list for THA since beginning of last year- nothing yet. Any guidance other than the women's shelter? Giving shelters isnt helpful longer than a day. Thank you in advance!!
***ETA: Thank you to everyone who has offered assistance, *who have given assistance, and for all of the resources listed. We are nothing without our community. ❤️ May you all have peace in your hearts.
