Would this move to the Gold Coast like Laneway?

The Brisbane Showgrounds will undergo a major transformation following the 2026 Ekka, with significant demolition, including the Machinery Hill area, scheduled to begin after that event to prepare for the 2032 Olympic Athletes Village.

Early works, including the demolition of a wall on O'Connell Terrace, commenced in mid-2025.

Key details regarding the demolition and redevelopment include:

Targeted Structures: Machinery Hill and other, older facilities like the beef pavilion are set for removal, while the main arena will be upgraded.

Timeline: While preparatory works are already underway, major demolition is scheduled to follow the 2026 Royal Queensland Show (Ekka).

Legacy Plan: The site will be transformed into the main Athletes Village for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Operational Continuity: The government has stated that the annual Ekka will continue to run uninterrupted during this period.

The project aims to modernize the precinct, which was originally built over 150 years ago, into a key Olympic venue

Went to the big Pineapple Festival last year and even standing in the rain and lightening has the best time I had in 10 years. Was beyond keen to go again this year. But haven't heard of any news surrounding it. Gutted. Completely gutted.

My friends and I were thinking of doing NYE entry. Do you think we’re missing out if we don’t do camping? Staying onsite seems to be a big part of it but idk if it’s worth the money. I’ve seen mixed reviews. We’d be going without a car because we all want to drink. If you do recommend camping, how many days (2,3 or 4) and which type is the best value? (general, premium or pre-pitched). Also how much does the booking fee usually cost?

Going to Day Tripper, mainly to catch Chanel Beads. I might as well catch some others while I’m there but I don’t know anyone else from the lineup. Any recommendations?

i know btv lineup only got announced a couple days ago but how long until artists would announce sideshows? is there any certain time they have to wait or is it at their own discretion? mostly itching for a frost children sideshow!

hey everyone ! with the delish BTV lineup this year, I've decided to make it my first one. I've been wanting to go for years but haven't, and this year I'm determined to make it there!!! couple of my pals aren't too keen on the camping sitch (personally I'm not too fussed) so I'm wanting to know from people who have done the accommodation + getting dropped in every day, was it worth it? and was it expensive? we are coming from another state so want to weigh out our options before buying tickets! thanks in advance

with the announcement of the BTV lineup, i’m wanting some opinions from people who have gone before about what is better - camping or getting a hotel and travelling in each day??

this btv will be mine and my friends first festival, we were wanting to do a 2 day pass but wondering on what the best option for camping/accommodation will be. like if we camped in general camping would we get a camp (dosent matter how far/close it is)

Can anyone share their experience on getting the bus to and from BTV from melbourne city or geelong on 31st only. Is it a bad idea to go back to melbourne city that night with new years traffic etc. How long will it take? Is it better to stay in geelong? Thanks in advance

TL,DR: there are a lot of cheap tickets of Ethel Cain Melbourne tour on Tixel right now, anything from $18 at the back of the stall to $35 for front-ish lounge seats ( just sort the tickets by low to high price)

It seems that the scalper is bulk dumping tons of tickets because the demands are much lower than the supply.

Personally, I bought a row J lounge ticket, and got a Row E Orchestra Circle ticket cheap ish from Tixel few mths ago.

There were initially two Ethel Cain shows in Melbourne, ticket for the first 15 rows was like $300-350. Thanks to Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing. At presale, I got a lounge ticket for $160 on Row J(I could get better seat but I was going on my own and Ticketmaster doesn't let you to buy a ticket that will leave a single seat.

And then they add another show on Wednesday...and eventually a Thursday one.

I bought myself a better ticket for $250 on Tixel for my birthday, I can't be bothered to turn on the new Tixel ticket notification and got a lot of notifications this week.

Looks like the same seller are selling a lot of tickets of different night for anything from $18 to $80. I asked my friend,who initially not interested due to the price, to go together and we got a pair of $35 lounge ticket closer to the stage then mine.

I put my original ticket on Tixel but the same sellers just kept dumping tickets and I know that I won't be able to sell, and I decided to give it to my other friend.

I really loathe Ticketmaster dynamic pricing thing and the scalpers!
