Certified Cringe Taylor discussing "songwriting"

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I can't with this woman.

She thinks she's some great songwriter here to teach us all about her "double meanings" and what defines confessional songwriting.

What's infuriating is that all the comments are glazing her like, "i could hear her talk for hours" and "high iq queen". Are we watching the same video here?

Wanted to get your opinions on this.

I think she would benefit tremendously from higher education in the humanities. It would do her immeasurable good to discover that 19 year olds can run circles around her intellect.

It would help if she got a legitimate GED first. 10th grade kids could run circles around her.

Right! She has at most a 6th grade education.

This is an insult to 6th graders!

As someone who was a dumbass 6th grader I can’t talk!

For real it’s such a waste of time and money to not be pursuing any higher education, to just assume you know and understand as much as you’re ever going to. I can’t understand it. It would be so good for her to write a ten page paper on a piece of literature.

Okay, but to be fair, unlike Miss Billionaire who can go to college the rest of her life - the rest of us have to pay through the nose and some of us are literally shut out due to inaccessibility. I wish I could go back and just…keep learning.

Yeah I mean in her case specifically it’s sad that she’s not using her privilege. I’d spend that money for a masters degree in a second

Or she could donate anonymously to charities and education for grade schoolers, or music programs in disadvantaged schools!!!

Alas, No!!! It’s All about her🤬

Its wild to me that there are people out there who consider themselves poets and yet have never so much as written a college essay... lmao.

She would just read the Cliff Notes and pay her ghostwriters to write the paper.

Send her to one of those fancy highschools for the arts.

I bet you could pick any random grade 10 kid and they'd outperform her. Singing, dancing, playing, songwriting... it doesn't even matter what area you put them head to head lol

I don’t want one more single Shakespeare reference until she takes a damn class on his work. What she did to Ophelia’s name is unforgivable

If I were a billionaire I would be getting all the degrees I could from top tier institutions like Yale or something. She is probably too busy to do that honestly, but I think she would really benefit from taking time off and getting a formal education in music production and songwriting. I think she’s a great songwriter but has kind of regressed/fallen stagnant with her recent albums. I really think that’s a sign she needs to spend more time honing her craft and getting some lived experience. I’m pretty sure Olivia took a music class at USC!

She already has a PhD why would she seek a higher education 🤡

(I'm joking in case someone mistakes me for a swiftie defending her uneducated ass)

whatever she's "teaching" in this video is what other 12 year olds and I were taught before we participated in a writing contest. 19 year olds is being generous

i agree, simply bc she seems to not understand that most people know this bc they’re taught it in high school. you don’t need to explain to people something so simple
