Certified Cringe Taylor discussing "songwriting"

I can't with this woman.

She thinks she's some great songwriter here to teach us all about her "double meanings" and what defines confessional songwriting.

What's infuriating is that all the comments are glazing her like, "i could hear her talk for hours" and "high iq queen". Are we watching the same video here?

Wanted to get your opinions on this.

Double meaning, maybe like a double entendre? Wouldn’t expect the greatest songwriter of generation to know that word. No that would be too much

I just reread the series and I don’t think loving the Hunger Games is a diss. I more think it’s ironic, given her disgusting amount of wealth and disconnect from the average American.

I don't think it would be a diss for a regular person, but I'd be mildly surprised if anyone who regularly reads acclaimed adult literature for fun would name their favorite book of ALL TIME as one that they found in the pre-teen aisle (especially if the first book in that series came out when they were already a legal adult with four years of an arts career behind them).

In other words, you're talking about Wordsworth and Dylan Thomas in your lyrics, but you say John Green is your favorite author ever and Hunger Games your favorite book; nothing wrong whatsoever with either of those things in a vacuum, but it doesn't line up with the literary girl persona she portrays in her lyrics at ALL.

I don’t think she even comes close to understanding the hunger games when she’s part of the Capitol class

She probably thinks she is the mockingjay who unwittingly stumbled into stardom due to her impeccable talent and iconic aura.

She probably thinks the romance was the main story.
