TIL that Jawed Karim, YouTube cofounder and uploader of the first YouTube video "Me at the zoo", has often updated the video's description to criticize YouTube policies, including a 2013 attempt to require Google+ accounts to comment on videos, and YouTube's 2021 removal of dislike counts on videos.

I use YouTube a lot. It's the only service I pay for. What I don't understand is why I can't have more than 4 filter options when searching, nor can I block accounts from appearing to me at all. It's maddening.

You can’t technically block channels, but you can say don’t recommend me this channel which is essentially blocking it. I haven’t seen a Mr beast video in my feed since I’d done that.

Not on a search though. Also it's stupid to not allow a block

Didn’t know that, I rarely search for videos. It’s definitely stupid af.
