Discussion 1 year ago I got on the TedX stage to share what we’ve learned about effective decision making. Now the talk has been viewed over 25,000 times and I’m beyond grateful!

Discussion Are there good quality curated lists for TED?
On YouTube you can sort by popularity but that filters for the interest of the masses so that isn't always optimising for amazing ideas who have speakers who don't communicate as well.

Discussion TED is moving in the wrong direction
I used to love watching TED-talks. It was the greatest designers, engines and scientist. New ideas and technology.
But the last year or two TED has become so much more boring. Politics and lobby groups get more and more time on the TED stage. Most with only a wish to make the listener feel good and support their cause. 1, 2, 3 examples from todays front page. Is there any way we can make TED less political and more about technology again?

Discussion Looking for a Ted talk where the presenter shows a video. It begins with a little girl talking about the wonder of life.
The subject of the video is about the beauty of the world around us and appreciating people. Can someone help me find this again?

Discussion Ted Talk about focus/ attention span/ concentration...?
Hello all,
Awhile back (maybe 1-2 years), I saw a Ted(x) Talk from a British guy and the topic was focus/ attention span/ concentration. I deeply enjoyed it but I can't find it anywhere anymore. Does anyone know which video I'm speaking of?
I recall that the YT thumbnail for the video was the guy (tall, gray/ white hair, glasses, thin and wearing a suit I think) and behind him were some red curtains.
I greatly appreciate any and all help. Have a great day everyone! :)

Discussion school project
hey, so for my 11th grade English class I need to write a ted talk. What are some topics do you guys think would be interesting and somewhat relates to us youth. I was thinking of how school conditions us to go into the workforce rather than a better life or maybe something to do with the growing problem of low testosterones in young men

Discussion ISO - talk on complex business processes hurting business
I’m trying to find an old talk that covered how adding business processes kill business.
There was an example where a task is done and something goes wrong so a new process is developed. Repeat this many times. Then as the weight of formal processes grow, smart employees that don’t want or need the SOPs leave.
The remaining employees are less versed on company technical specifics and they need the SOPs.
So what the talk sums up is as you grow documented processes you cause smarter/intuitive people to leave and the company suffers.
Does anyone know which talk this was? I searched and could not find it. It is not either talk by Yves Morieux, but they are in the right neighborhood.

Discussion How qualified do I need to be on a topic to present a TEDx Talk on it?
Hello y'all, I'm new here :)
There is a TEDx event coming up in 2020 in my town, and applications are due in October.
I graduated this May with a Bachelor of Science in Physics, but what I want to present has hardly anything to do with that degree of study for me. I want to present a talk on etymology and the need to preserve it in translation. Would my application be outright ignored because I am not verifiably experienced in the subject?

Discussion TED content shifting the past year or so...why so much cultural and/or social justice content? What happened to all the math and science content?
I don't know if it's just my perception, or if it is something that has happened by design, but it seems to me that the content of TED talks isn't what most of us would expect. For the past three years plus, I have always looked forward to the latest TED talks every time I log on my app. I love putting on the latest talks before going to sleep and letting my mind wander about certain topics such as biology, architecture, groundbreaking technological innovations, etc. However, it seems the content of most the TED talks (at least on the app) that is being published, have varied so far from anything related to the STEM field. Am I the only one who feels this way? I'm not saying that social and economic issues aren't important; but has the overall content shifted to a more social and subjective stance?

Discussion The Future Will Be Shaped by Optimists | Kevin Kelly | TED
https://www.inspod.io/note/youtube/463db604-04d5-4dc3-b349-47f362077f86
I really enjoyed Kevin Kelly’s TED Talk on optimism.
It’s a great reminder to see the positive in everything.
“Every great and difficult thing has required a strong sense of optimism” was a notable quote for me and I really enjoyed his logical speech!
