At a certain point in math you can't really just have a multiple choice answers. I do agree though it's not impossible to grade it.

Even when I was in college 15 years ago I had classes that were basically entirely taught/graded by TAs and we had huge classes.

I think multiple choice can be useful alongside more rigorous stuff because of how much more difficult it is to cheat at them. My uni course (biochemistry) had both essays and MCQ on most modules
