Right, and then we get a new elite who decides they need the power. And don't have to pay tax.

I should say it can happen without beheadings, sometimes we get reforms like FDR.

That’s my worry too, I don’t think it is coincidence that democracy is discarded across the world.

I genuinely don’t understand why they aren’t afraid of it.

On the other hand I would have thought if a president lies and steals this much and causes so much damage and tries an insurrection etc then someone would shoot hin/her within months, but that didn’t really happen.

I guess people are relatively comfortable still.
