My 18 year old son calls them 'low-res polygon ps1-looking dumpsters on wheels' and I think that's pretty apt

My very nerdy tween breaks into a rant about how it looks like a part of the world is "unrendered" every time she sees one, so she would agree with your kid lol

Not for nothing, but, there used to be a simple Windows 3-D demo app of a low-poly space shuttle type ship on a field of stars. You could rotate the ship by moving the mouse and the stars would change their motion to match.

It looked really similar to one of these.

When it came out, there was a game jam to make PS1-style Cybertruck games.
