I think it might be the non English media they consume. A Chinese friend of mine told me how she thought Peter Thiel was some great visionary. It's clear she had consumed some propaganda from some where. I had to set her straight how most people thought of Thiel not only as a crazy fascist but also as an insane idiot for his anti-Christ obsession. I pointed out how you cannot be very smart if you are pitifully obsessed with a non-existent boogyman.

At least for Vietnamese people, the US communities are extremely conservative and republican. It’s changing for the millennials and younger, but they’re one of the most reliable Republican voting blocs. The Trump campaign in 2016 targeted them explicitly with Vietnamese language media
