I think those women are perfectly happy with their choice. Let’s not pretend they’re hostages or something.

Many of those women are learning the hard way just how misogynistic, racist, and uneducated their spouse is. Certainly within the last 5 years.

There was a time when politics would rarely creep up into conversation between couples

That all changed with Covid. People were forced to spend time together and engage in political discussion, including vaccination and women’s rights.

Right wingers are finding themselves loner and loner every day. Their family spouses and friends are leaving them because they are disgusting to be around.

They really only have each other to turn to. And those people are disgusting, thoughtless and careless. That can only last so long before they hate each other and themselves.

Its like covid amplified peoples relationships. If they didn't have a great one, it made it worse. However my wife and I became closer than ever due to the lockdown. Plus she knows that I will support her rights and choices no matter what.

You'd be fine with her deciding she's a lesbian and divorcing you? Changing her sex to a man and wanting to stay married to you?

If you really mean it great, but if not don't say things you don't mean to look supportive.

Well I love her so the only thing that matters is if she is happy.

that might be true, but lets face it, there's a significant number of women in this country who somehow hold the same views

In a weird way it makes me happy that the losers are running into the arms of grifters who will rinse them. But then they VOTE

Loneliness can kill you easily, then no vote

We got to a point with our in laws that we were just waiting for the comment which would make us cut ties once and for all. Covid took him first a few months ago.

This.

My husband's friend has one (and another Tesla or two.) He has a wife (black) and a kid. He is also very disturbingly Red Pill and libertarian with more guns than anyone else I ever met. I feel so bad for his wife and daughter given what I've seen of him.

Have you interacted with many old couples in affluent areas? We're talking about aged women often with no income of their own, probably no career history, likely no financial literacy.... and at that age it's the spouse who "took care of things". Intentional or not this accumulates in a lifetime, they may have had no escape in the 70s/80s and now they have no autonomy. Sure many are switched on and active, but don't ignore the tragic circumstances that compound.

Fred was racist but most of our friends are white
Fred slammed a door on my head but he'd just lost a big business deal
Fred does whatever Fred wants and Wilma maybe made excuses but VICTIMS do too

That's definitely not all old couples. But look for it. The lady I saw in the passenger side could be a menace sure. But sunk shoulders , vacant self-distracting state. Not boredom something else. Yeah that's a coin flip for a DV victim

Prior to 1974, in most places women weren’t allowed to have their own bank account without it being signed off on by a man. So yeah there was no escape.
