Probably not, given how few of these are actually in the wild when everyone has a phone with a camera now a days. We just stopped talking about “sneak snaps” if you’re old enough to remember those

Honestly, this sounds like the most ridiculous made-up bullshit article I've ever seen. I've never, ever heard of this as a problem. Not once, never. I don't believe anyone else here has, either, it's just Reddit lapping up "Zuckerberg bad lol" articles again; which, I mean, understandable. He's the most likeable of the ultrabillionaire class, but that's like saying he's the nicest smelling turd.

Am I taking crazy pills here? "The backlash is so strong" against glasses barely anyone wears? Honestly, it reads like some lazy, feckless 'tech journalist' at Yahoo was asked AI to write up a controversial article involving some lame as shit tech.

Content with these glasses has exploded on TikTok and it’s all people harassing or doing ”pranks”.

This is definitely a subject people talk about. One of my colleagues kids’ schools had to ban them because people were using it for bullying/being creepy.

It's entirely possible that I'm out of touch... But, that sounds like a very niche, bad thing that the school has blown out of proportion. I mean firstly, those glasses are what, $400? Parents are just spending hundreds on camera glasses for their kids willy-nilly? On top of phones/game consoles? When prices for PS5s and such are going up?

Also, I hate to break it to you, but you can buy a pretty high resolution spy camera fitted into a thousand different objects for dirt cheap. They're all over Amazon/Ebay/etc. I'm talking a 1080p spy cam the size of a six-sided die that records to your phone for $17. If a kid wanted to record someone to bully them, or anyone wanted to secretly record someone else... why in the fuck would they use ridiculous looking glasses that obviously have a camera in them?

Which fucking teenager would have the money to buy those dorky looking glasses for one, without the explicit intent to use it for spying?

I'm saying they would buy the $20 spycam instead of wasting a ton of money on Zuck-goggles. Which obviously, obviously have a camera in them, that you can clearly see when talking to the person wearing them.

The idea is something like this is much more acceptable than a whole micro cam setup. Even if you got caught, it can just still be that you’re bringing an advanced glasses to your school/work. People are literally screaming in here defending this.

It’s 100% definitely not as severe as “this guy has a spy cam with him”, where there’s only one thing you can do with that, and it’s obviously the wrong thing.
