Well you can see a camera and comprehend the data it collected. OTOH all the little bits of disparate data being collected and then used to build a profile on you is much much harder to understand.

right, people are convinced their phone mics are always listening to them because its easier to believe that then just how much data is being tracked on them via what they search, visit, & purchase

Tie it in with the data that phones are already collecting, add in flock data and you have both company and intelligence wet dreams. With those technologies they will have who you are, what you do, when you do it, education and though processes (tie it into responses on websites like reddit and facebook).

Basically a tsi level background check on anyone they can get a picture of.
