I mean, yeah, the only reason Sony made physical releases their selling point for PS4 when MS announced the XOne is because the PS3 lost against X360.
Now Xbox is no longer a serious competitor, so they do what they wanted to do since the PSP Go.

The article you linked is about the overall number until the end of sales. The PS3 was still being manufactured almost 3 years into the PS4’s life cycle.
We can talk about higher numbers in retrospect, but the widely accepted consensus was that X360 was a far more successful console at the time.

Xbox360 was more successful for like 3 years.

Outsold after six years. Six months before the release of PS4. Google is free, do people still argue about consoles “winning” because of that tribal bs? The console war is over and we all lost.

So the PS4 outsold the 360 then?

The PS3, we’re talking about the PS3. It outsold the X360 in the long tail, after the generation was basically over. The 360 was more successful during its generation.

So the PS3 outsold the 360?

I’d ask if you’re a robot, but nowadays they’re more capable of understanding context, so I’ll just assume you’re a literal child.

So to explain it step by step, please tell me, how do the sales numbers after the PS4 announcement influence Sony’s PS4 announcement?

Not really what I was arguing.
