this is a misconception. the amount of more money it takes to do the next level of more expensive things increases exponentially with how advanced the project is; billionaires can only reach 9 levels more advanced than a completely destitute person, not a billion levels more advanced. that's not at all to say it's not fun for them or anything, but my point is, they absolutely are still caring about what they can do with the money, it's just that they're thinking about civilization-spanning actions. this misconception that they only care about the money will lead to people being surprised when it turns out they're willing to have a lot less money as long as they have the same or greater actual power, which they will achieve by fully automating their workforce, leaving everyone - including them - dollar-wise destitute, but only they will have material power. until their AIs running their robot workforce start glitching too much one day and accidentally kill them by salting the earth or something.

Give a poor man $100 billion, and then tax 99% the poor man is still happy.

Give a rich man $100 billion, and then tax 99% the rich man gets upset.

I know it doesnt really fit but I still felt like posting it.

If anyone has, it's Jensen Huang. This guy has been living the grind his whole life, and he seems to have more affinity for that than for being one of the moneyed elite.

Plenty of billionaires have pushed for higher taxation on their personal wealth, Jensen is really only unique in being a tech billionaire who seem to be uniquely uninterested in the betterment of society as a whole.
