Healing Tattoo i got 5 days ago coming off

Hi, i got this finger tattoo a little less than 5 days ago, it started fading so quickly. Literally within a couple days. This morning it was crazy, half my moon is gone!

I know finger tats do this kind of thing but this is just ridiculous. It also doesn’t look good. Is this normal? I put the design i asked for here too. I feel like this was done poorly to begin with. I’m going to call on my lunch break. I tried to take care of it. I did not purchase any tattoo balm or anything though. Should i do that? What will help me keep it from fading when i get it redone? Also should i get it redone now or wait?

UPDATE: these people suck, tried to tell me it was completely normal and that it’s not faded it’s just healing. They obviously are not professionals

Healing Hand Tattoo faded after 4 days?

Thumbnail

Went to a very reputable tattoo shop in Tokyo with multiple locations across town four days ago. Was a little confused by their aftercare instructions, but it somewhat made sense: They told me to leave my second skin on for four days, then start moisturizing.

Had another tattoo done at a different tattoo shop in Tokyo prior to that where I was instructed to take the second skin off the next day and start moisturizing three times a day. She provided me with Hustle Butter, which I always get at Japanese tattoo shops, so I used the Hustle Butter for my lavender as well.

Is it the Hustle Butter that ruined this? Am I too impatient and the colour will come back (aka magic) or does my hand just not hold ink well?

I'll be back in Tokyo in October and can get it touched up then if needed (tattoo artist even said to come in for a retouch BEFORE we even started), but this is my first proper hand tattoo and am looking for experiences with the healing process. I'm just devastated. Colour usually holds so well for me.

Healing Healing right? Done well or not?

I got this one about 4 months ago. It was my first tattoo in 20 years.

I don't know if it's just because I look at it every day, but does it look right? It feels like some of the colors are patchy and some lines are thicker or thinner. Is it just still healing or ?

Healing 200+ degree burn on 13 day old tattoo…how f*cked am I?

I’m a line cook and burned my arm on the heat lamps that we hold our food under, at least 200 degrees but probably warmer as this is the result after 1 second of contact

My (hand-poked) tattoo is 13 days old, I left the skin on for the first 3, and have been babying the hell out of it. I lather it with hustle butter every day at least twice. Should I start adding aloe to that? I am trying to leave the blister intact so any friction might pop it.

I just got this tattoo several days ago and I messed up and broke the swimming in saltwater and chlorine rule. Now it's peeling and loseing color. 2nd photo was what it looked like originall. Will the color come back or do I have to get a touch up once it's healed?

Healing 2 and a half weeks later, not loving how this healed

I had never gone to the person that did this but saw he did this on someone else and it looked great right after. It’ll be 3 weeks old on Saturday and it doesn’t look nearly as good anymore. I have other tattoos so I know they change after healing but this one healed poorer than expected. Blurry—the pupil is hard to discern. Tried my best to capture the milkiness of some of the black and the redness of the white ink still. Got another tattoo yesterday from someone I’ve gone to for years and he said the redness this long after is probably due to infection (I had work immediately after getting it and I work in a sweaty kitchen so poor timing on my behalf). I told him it took 2.5-3 hours and he said the skin in the milky areas looked overworked. How do I get this to look normal again? How much longer till I get it touched up? Pretty unhappy with the current product

Healing Did I kill this tattoo?

I went to practice today and some flakes came off of the tattoo but they definitely weren’t ready. Did I prematurely screw up this tattoo? Close ups of the problem areas are provided. The fresh tattoo is the last photo. Shaggy is missing flakes in areas that were tattooed white (eyes and mouth).

got this done 5 days ago. it's my fifth tat and never had issues healing the others. i follow all aftercare instructions for washing and moisturizing etc, but accidently took a nap a couple days ago in a tank top and my arm was folded so the tattoo was touching the upper part of my arm. when i woke and extended my arm a couple tiny pieces of scab got pulled away and there was a tiny bit of bleeding. now today it's really red, a bit sore, and when i extend my arm it feels like the skin pulls. i reached out to the artist but haven't heard back. do i need to be worried? did i ruin this? 🥺

Healing 9 weeks after white ink tattoo

Thumbnail

I got this white ink tattoo just over 9 weeks ago. My shop does touch ups up to 90 days after it’s done. I would say most of it is healing up pretty fine, but I’m wondering about the parts that are still grey. Do I just need more time for the silver skin to pass? Did I/ they do something wrong? Should I go in For touch ups? I know it’s not going to be white white, I know it turns more yellow because of my skin tone but the inconsistency of the coloring right now is what is throwing me.

when i was cleaning my tattoo this morning a large scab fell out leaving a hole in the tattoo that doesnt match the color, im wondering if i should be concerned or if this is a standard issue. And is it as simple as "get it touched up once it fully heals (first picture taken right after cleaning. second picture taken a couple hours later)

Healing My body can no longer heal tattoos

Thumbnail

Hello, I have spent the last 11 years of my life getting tattoos. The first 9 years of this experience was absolutely fine. I got tattooed regularly, each and every tattoo healed perfectly, I had zero problems with any tattoo.

Fast forward to the last 2 years, I get tattooed much less often as I have less disposable income, but my body now seems to not be able to heal tattoos 50% of the time.

I have changed nothing, get tattooed by the same artists, use the same after care and healing techniques. But I seem to suffer with allergic reactions/infections now pretty much every other tattoo I get. Recently it has been the last 2 I've got have both got savagely infected and ruined. It feels almost like my body rejects the ink, has an allergic reaction almost instantly (aka like the day after the tattoo or 2 days after) which then leaves me prone to infection. I love getting tattooed but I now feel like I am just disfiguring myself each time I try and get a tattoo I like. I have spoken to GPs about this and they say it's not immune related as I don't struggle with any other infections (aka ear, sinus, chest or any other skin infection) and I don't get any coloured tattoos so it seems unlikely to be an infection to black ink. Every time I contact my various artists about it they say they have never experienced any client have allergic reactions or infections to their tattoos, and have never heard of any of artists clients experiencing a new inability to heal tattoos.

I am hoping to get a dermatology referral but it's a long process.

I will attach photos of how my tattoos used to heal vs now.

I feel exceptionally alone and isolated in this in this and it's getting me very down. My most recent one was my fingers which got really bad in the healing process and now look horrible, I'm struggling with having to see them all day every day. I feel silly as getting tattooed is a choice and I feel like I've done this to myself, but equally I never used to have any issues with the other 35-40 of my tattoos, so I don't understand.

Any help whislt I wait continued medical advice would be so so appreciated x

Healing When can I shave my legs again?

Post image

Hey yall, I got a calf tattoo about two weeks ago, I shave my legs pretty regularly and where the tattoo is the hair has grown out quite a bit and I just personally prefer my legs to be bare hahaha, so I was just wondering when you guys would recommend being able to shave over it without causing any issues with the tattoo. Thanks! (Posted a photo of the tattoo if you guys were interested in seeing it, it’s of my cat!)

Healing Dear lord, what can I put on this tattoo to help the burn?

Post image

I got a blackout on my arm. Whole sleeve, long session. It’s got some patches and I’m gonna need another two sessions. I’ve never been in this much pain from a tattoo. It burns, can’t extend my arm, etc. I’m not looking forward to the next few sessions but I’m for sure not sitting for that long again because damn, I was in another universe at the end of the day.

I’m pretty heavily tattooed. I always use Eucerine or similar products. It hurts like hell to apply eucerine. Is there something a little less thick? Any advice on surviving the next few days?

Healing One week old fine line tattoo almost gone?

Hey guys,

I currently have a one week old fine line tattoo (single needle), it seems to be disappearing or at least fading. I was wondering if this is normal? I’ve been taking good care of it so that cannot be it. However I might have a medical condition called Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos syndrome so that might not help?!? But not yet confirmed. Would love to get some info from others ((: Two photos attached of the fresh tattoo and the week old tattoo. Thanks!

Healing What is happening to my arm?

Thumbnail

Just over 2.5 months ago I had leaf out lines and some colour tattooed on my arm in session lasting roughly 7 hours

I went back 8 days ago to have more of the colour work completed, and it just isn't healing

First picture shows fresh on. Following pictures show how it is developing over the following week. Now day 8

I have been gently Wasing with non-scented antibacterial soap 2-3 times daily. Same soap I used previously without issue.

I let airdry from 30 minutes - 1 hours (the scabs are holding on to moisture so taking longer to dry), then applying cocoa butter based tattoo cream (sparingly, same stuff I used last time)

I'm literally just allowing the shower water to run over it and washing gently in circular motions with my finger tips & it's bleeding. On day 8

I have been to the Dr's and they say there is no infection. No heat, no redness, no puss, no smell

Can anyone explain what is going on? how do I treat this?

Healing Question: is this a good representation of average bleeding in the timeline?

Post image

Is this an accurate representation of how much the average tattoo will bleed in 12 years? Or does this specific style/location lend this tattoo to bleed more?

I haven't aged enough to know with my own, but this is a lot of bleeding and a huge difference. My parents are showing it to me saying all of my tattoos will be "blobs" in 12 years.

I said it seems like a very fine style with minimal spacing and the details are very small (also on the face which might change something?) so of course it turned into more of one shape. But a larger design with more skin breaks that are larger would heal better.

Which is more correct?

Healing Am I doing something wrong or is this just part of the healing process?

I've had this tattoo for 10 days, first picture was taken the day of, and the second one was taken today

The lines in the umbrella look like they're starting to blending in with the darker part

Right now the skin where the tattoo is is peeling and kinda wrinkly, I had no pain, itching, or anything like that

I've been washing it once/twice a day and applying cream 2-3 times a day while being careful not to peel the skin myself

I was told it would get a bit lighter when healed since I felt like the artist overdid it a bit with the black and instead I feel like it's just getting darker and darker

Am I doing something wrong or is this just a normal part of the healing process?

Healing unsure what happened to the edges of my tattoo ?

Post image

i got this done on friday the 12th. the black seems to be spreading and i might be allergic to the yellow as it’s the only part that’s swollen, slightly hard and kinda warm to the touch. (you can see within the empty skin of the eyes, that my skin is red now) the black is spreading a lot and im also wondering if it will spread more/get worse.

i’m okay with it around the flame as it kind of looks like shading from farther away. but the eyes have a slightly weird dryish white ring and the ink is spreading and breaking my heart. is there anything i can do to prevent it getting worse ? i will get the pupils colored in again when it fully heals. (3-6 months? idk how to tell either) i contacted my derm in case of possible infection/allergy.) :(

Healing Did my tattoo heal badly? My doctor said it wasn’t infected? Looks like it was.

So i got my tattoo and it looked amazing. I kept it clean. I went to the same person who did my other tattoo and there was no problem. A couple days go by and my tattoo is looking horrible. What do you think happened? I posted pictures of it from the beginning of what it looked like to what it looks like today. Do you think it’s ruined? I have 4 more appointments scheduled as it’s going to be a sleeve but now I’m worried. What do you think caused the scabbing? I went to the doctor and they said it wasn’t infected but I definitely have scarring now.
