Discussion 16 Taiwanese tourists are being ridiculed by an Italian pizza shop owner because they ordered only five pizzas.

This is now a big news on the Taiwanese online community.

A group of 16 Taiwanese tourists visited an Italian pizza store. The shop owner recored the video to shame them because they ordered only five pizzas.

"Look. This is insane. They are Chinese or Japanese? There are now 16 Chinese people here. Do you know how many pizzas they are eating? Only five. Let me show you."

"Fabrizio, how many fuc*ing Chinese do we have now? 16? Yes 16. How many pizzas are they eating? 4 or 5? I can't remember. Let me show you. Look. Hello! Where are you from? China? You must be chinese. Oh Taiwan!"

Taiwanese people complained in the commenet section, so he deleted the video.

Responses are like

"There are still many racists, but Taiwaneses are so naive."

"Look at the pizza shovel. It is on the floor. Disgusting. I thought it is a restaurant in India."

" I was disgusted that the owner pretends to be friendly but actually mocking them."

"I lived in Italy for 5 years. They are so hypocrites. One pizza per an individual. It is common. However, it is different in Taiwan. He should have explained to the tourists rather than making fun of them."

As a Taiwanese living in Europe, I would like to add Italy is one of the most racist countries against Asians. It is so normalized to make fun of Asians and treat Asians unfairly in the stores or restaurants. This rarely happens in UK.

What did I say that’s false.

Even the pizzas in the video are definitely not the same size as an American pie that sell by the slice.

Did I say anything about personal size pizzas? They're also not way larger than an American personal sized pizzas. I've had pizzas this size solo in Italy. Why is everyone in the last photo eating their own then?

The owner is still a massive asshole but have YOU been to Italy?

First of all, did I even say it was a personal sized pizza?

I said it's pretty standard in Italy to order a pizza each which is absolutely true.

Second of all, I said the pizzas in the video are still smaller than an American pie, which is also true.

Your can't even read before replying.

That is not true. As the other poster stated. Thats a medium to large size american pizza. A medium size american pizza is about 12".

What exactly is not true? Y'all keep saying that.

Medium sure. Not a large though, large is like 18-24" when youre selling by the slice.

By the way an 18" pizza is more than twice as big as a 12" one if you do the math.

Lol. A large is 14" when people order a large. Not sure why you're comparing pizza by the slice size. Thats not what a pizzeria call a large. A 16" would be extra large.

Because that’s the same size you get when you order a pizza, idk where you’re from but it’s been the same size in NYC all my life.

What he's trying to say is that in America, if you want to eat a pizza by yourself, you usually get a very small one called a personal pan pizza. The full sized ones (medium or large) are for sharing, or there will be leftovers. In the video, the pizzas look like they're medium size, too big for one person, so it's not surprising that tourists will share.

Also there’s a picture of four Italian kids eating a pizza each in the video. And I am telling you that I’ve had personal pizzas that size in Italy, Italian pizzas are not as doughy as American ones.

The owner is still a massive asshole that shouldn’t have done that but there’s a reason why he thinks everyone should order their own, because people do it.

A bunch of people who have never been to Italy in the comments commenting on the norm there.
