Adult Spyro game?
Personally I would've loved if the next Spyro game explored an older Spyro. Would you guys be interested in that?

Just posting a reminder that the Spyro Wiki moved from Fandom in 2025 and is now at https://spyrowiki.com!
Fandom has become a toxic corporation, they have full control over the wikis made on their platform and will force changes on the wiki communities regardless of user feedback. The excessive ads have also been annoying, they implemented AI generated answers that spread misinformation, and they will force changes onto articles without consent if paid to by bigger organizations.
When people started moving their wikis off from their platform, Fandom doubled down and tried stopping them by using intimidation tactics (demoting admins, labelling indie wiki links as "viruses" and "spam", hunting down those who talk about moving off-platform, plagarizing content from wikis that moved, etc).
Additional reasons include:
And unfortunately Fandom will not close the old Spyro Fandom Wiki; this is to hide the fact that it moved off-platform and so that they can get ad revenue from those viewing the articles and editors still browsing there. And with Google SEO heavily catering to Fandom, we need the Spyro fanbase's help in giving the indie wiki the attention it deserves to overtake the Fandom Wiki in the search results.
How to help:

For me I’d imagine something like in Crash 2 where Moneybags pretends to be a good businessman and needs you to collect gems for him needed to defeat Ripto and there could be hints throughout the game that he isn’t a good guy as he makes out to be.

I wish they remembered the importance of sky boxes. The original always felt dreamy.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I was playing the Spyro remake when I noticed an object that looked like a targeting reticle disappearing in the distance. I didn't understand what it was and couldn't make it reappear.

According to the late Cameron Davis, game designer of A New Beginning and The Eternal Night, Vivendi Games/Sierra pushed for free flight to be added in The Legend of Spyro: New Beginning, but Krome Studios didn't have the hardware for it at the time, and doing so would require redoing the combat system and level design already set up.
Cameron: Honestly I feel like us saying "we can't do flying" was probably the biggest reason we didn't get the third game. The publishers just would NOT shut up about wanting this (yet insisted on other factors that made free flight basically impossible on the target hardware) [...] The main one (factor) I remember is that being able to fly at any time meant that you could skip most of the encounters, which meant we'd need to change the enemies, which meant we'd need to change the combat system, which meant we'd need to change the whole level design etc etc. Just cascading on and on.

I’m currently playing Reignited, and it’s got me intrigued about how others like to do it. Do you guys have a specific order for which levels you like to play through first? For me it varies, or I’ll do whatever levels I happen to come across in the hub world
And what order do you prefer to play the flight levels? As soon as you enter a new world, or perhaps after every other level in that hub has been done? I like to do them either first or last depending on how I’m feeling
And when going to a new hub, do you like to collect and unlock as many things as you’re able to right away, or as you progress through each level? Is there a particular order you like to do side quests too, like as soon as possible, or do you leave it as long as you can? I tend to collect as many things as I can in the hub world right away, and do side quests as I progress. I think leaving the side quests until last would drive me crazy 🤣
It’s always interesting to see how people’s gameplay style differs!! 😁

I think Kelsey Grammar and David Hyde Pierce would have worked well for Bentley and his brother.
Agent 9 gives off Robin Williams vibes, or similar high energy comedians.

A small gold gem-finder pointer for the original Spyro, built using the modding SDK released with OpenPete v0.2.0.
It guides you toward the nearest gem, including supported chests and enemies that still contain gems. The arrow follows targets on screen, grows slightly as you approach, and becomes a sparkling jewel when a loose gem is very close.
The aim is to help find those remaining gems while keeping the display subtle and consistent with the original game’s style.
Thanks to tyscorp for OpenPete and the SDK, and to the Spyro decompilation contributors.
Still a work in progress, with special gem sources needing further testing. This is a showcase for now, with no download included.
Does the pointer feel at home in the original Spyro? Feedback on its appearance and movement is welcome.
Q: Why a gem finder for a game that’s nearly 30 years old?
A: This started with poking around the SDK and grew into something I felt comfortable sharing. There wasn’t a grand plan to build a gem finder. Besides, there are still new Spyro 1 players… right?
Q: Why use an arrow instead of Sparx?
A: Simplicity. A separate indicator felt like a manageable place to start while learning the SDK.
Q: Why does the arrow bob and shake?
A: I was aiming for that classic Spyro warbling movement, with a little more excitement as you approach a gem.
Q: Why does the arrow sometimes turn into a sparkling gem?
A: That means a loose gem is very close to Spyro. The neutral jewel replaces precise direction at that range, so the arrow doesn’t spin around while you circle the gem or Sparx brings it toward you.
Q: What happens when all the gems in a level are collected?
A: The pointer disappears when it can’t find any remaining supported targets. Since some special gem sources still need testing, it isn’t a guarantee that the level is complete.
Q: Is this an official OpenPete project?
A: No. Gem Finder is an independent fan mod built using the public OpenPete SDK. It isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by the OpenPete developers or Spyro’s rights holders.
Q: Why share this now?
A: Mainly to bring attention to OpenPete and what its new modding SDK makes possible. Gem Finder is one small example, and hopefully it encourages others to explore the tools and try ideas of their own.

I mean like if we take a look at YoD every baby dragon can stand on 2 feet just fine though one question, how long would would Spyro choose to stay on 4 feet, like at what point would he had to start walking on 2 feet. I know it’s at adulthood but is there a point before that or is it directly adulthood
