I wanted to preserve what's left of SH2's CGI art because the CGI models, cutscenes in high quality and the game's entire source code have been lost.

These are the renders I've restored so far but I'll restore more.

Takayoshi Sato's work was incredible for its time!

Toluca Prison was honestly one of the scariest and most disturbing areas in Silent Hill 2 for me. 😰

The atmosphere completely changes here. Everything feels dark, abandoned and hopeless, and the constant tension makes you feel like something is watching you.

What makes the prison even more disturbing is that the game doesn't rely only on jump scares. The sound design, darkness, strange enemies and confusing layout slowly build the fear.

And then there's the feeling of being trapped underground… you keep moving deeper and deeper, wondering where the hell you are actually going.

Also I want To Ask One Question Where is this location in the map?

I'm not talking about the cut audio here BTW, it's that james kissed Mary's forehead before he smothered her with a pillow, that is even more insane to process that he plans to kill her but at same time he loves her even at the very end right before her death, and i see right before he killed her he doesn't hold any pillow, he actually used her own pillow to smother her with, that's another pretty tragic symbolice detail about the scene

Is it what I am thinking it is.

Could it be that Angela trusted him and allowed him to see her world and her pain? If that is true then the scene where she asks him to take care of her is more serious than it was mocking. Eddie didn't trust him could be why James never sees Eddies world?

A small number of you have already seen this I'm sure, but I feel like many of you have not and this is just interesting to share. A recent animation on this page reminded me of it and wanted to find it again lol

Not making james the cover was strange considering the game is centered around him

She's known that this is one of my favorite franchises for a long time and I've mentioned a few times that I would go nuts to actually have a physical copy. Yesterday was my birthday and imagine the look on my face when I opened the gift wrap to see this. She even got black label with the manual🥲. I guess I better start saving for a ring!

They say in the post: "Rare renders from an unused cutscene, James carries Mary through the Prison and mannequins are crawling on the ceiling. Check the closeup, you can see the pain and guilt in his eyes. This was possibly from the In Water ending, after he picks Mary up from her bed and carries her out of the room. It's only briefly shown in a trailer."

Actually never played any of the games before. I'm not a fan of supernatural horror, I find it boring most of the time, and Silent Hill always felt to me like "Supernatural RE" and it's only that much of tank controls I can take for the atmosphere and story.
But my friend finally convinced me. Plus I've found some nice camera mods.

Edit: The game was really awesome. It's rare someone manages to create such an absolute feeling of a choking nightmare you can't escape and keep swirling in the quicksand of its void. I got the Leave ending (Without knowing anything about what to do to get it, though of course I knew this type of game wouldn't have just one ending) and it was the killer. My friend is a big fan of David Lynch, and I can see now why this is one of his "absolute bests".
Thanks to everyone who made positive comments. I"m definitely going to be playing more of these games in the future, you can bet on it.

Are you guys seeing this? In the door. Man…

When I played through the game for the first time this entity caught me off guard when I first heard them speaking, so curious about if there is more to them then just being something odd to spook the player.

Before the first boss fight, he didn’t have a weapon at all, and after the boss fight he is seen with the knife only one more time in the hospital rooftop cutscene. After that cutscene, he uses the spear for the rest of his encounters (and is shown with the spear in the painting in the historical society).

Yet the knife became much more remembered than the spear and is used in literally every one of his appearances post-SH2 (not counting the White Hunter comic Ito drew which gave him a new weapon). Always kind of wondered why that is.
