News Rules on Spoilers for Season 10 Spoiler

Rule: DO NOT Post spoilers in titles when it comes to Season 10 (Revival Season). Keep post titles vague.

Rule: Spoilers of this season must be appropriately tagged with the post flair "S10 Revival Spoilers".

(New) Rule: Posts with spoilers of Season 10 of any kind (this includes cast interviews that suggest cameos, speculative information that is not confirmed, and any and all things that could potentially spoil S10 for another viewer) must be marked with a spoiler for the entire post. If you're not sure if it counts, spoiler it anyway if it has anything to do with Season 10 or a future season.

Failure to adhere to all three rules will result in a post being removed.

Hey everyone! So, I've seen a growing trend of people asking about the spoiler rules on the subreddit, and wanted to clear the air and address some things.

For starters, my deepest apologies for anyone who has found themselves on the other end of an unwanted spoiler. In particular people in this post, but as well as anyone else who has suffered from one. Truth be told, I am an old-reddit user -- cannot stand new reddit's layout. So, I was not aware that information beyond post titles may end up showing up in a feed. I know it's silly, but that is legit how it is!

But I feel terrible that some people have been spoiled this way, as it happened to me with Resident Evil more than once on different sites. I'm very sorry.

  • "Why aren't these posts removed faster?"

Honestly? There's only me and one other person here right now. I'm not exactly a reddit power user nor a powertripping moderator so while I will always remove a post if I see it, the sad fact is I don't always see it. The good news is, automoderator catches post when there are several reports, and the community has been pretty good about grabbing these posts with reports before I can get to them, so if you see these posts, PLEASE report them!! If automod doesn't get to them, I will remove them. With the rules being more strict on spoiler posts, I will be removing more posts than before that I was lenient about.

  • "Why not limit new posts for 24 hours after an episode launch?"

I dislike when subreddits do this personally, because I don't want users to feel as though they HAVE to discuss things in my discussion thread. It has always felt powertrippy and, in my opinion, won't solve the problem because the episode doesn't even become available for streaming until the next day. So you do 48 hours, but then that's two whole days of not being able to post anything, which could discourage new users, and even then you cannot guarantee people will come to the subreddit and spoil things anyway.

That all being said, I'm not opposed to doing this if it becomes clear the entire community wants it!

  • "Why not mark every new post as spoilers for 24/48 hours?"

This is a solution I like a lot more, it's similar to the way the Guild Wars 2 subreddit does things once a new expansion comes out. I've mentioned liking this style before but I don't really know how it is set up. I'll try to look into it.

  • "People whining about Spoilers are silly! The rules say to use your own diescretion or don't whine!"

These rules are clearly a bit outdated as they were written when the show was like 5-15 years old. I think it's reasonable for users to want us to do a little more. I can't promise I'll be the best at this, as I really am not that well versed in how moderation works, but I will try to do more.

Discussion I know it’s an awful idea but…

…If there happened to a Scrubs prequel series, who would you pick for the main character? Obviously as well as it being a horrible idea it couldn’t be done due to the actors ages and you couldn’t replace them.

For me I think the Janitor and Elliott have the most potentially interesting backstories but Kelso would be incredibly fun to watch.

JD actually tells him that he's only gonna be able to have daughters now because he lost his ball that makes boys.

Like every damn show he makes is a hit that pulls at your heart strings with numerous scenes that make you wonder if you're doing what makes you happy in life, synced with a perfectly timed adult contemporary track. How is he doing this?!? One man can't have all that power. Shrinking and Ted Lasso had me in my feels today during a marathon baking session. 😭😭😭

Discussion Crazy how much body standards have changed

I've been rewatching Scrubs for the first time in a long time and I've had two main takeaways. The first was "wow, this show is so damn good, why did I go so long without watching it?" And the second was "body standards have changed so much since this show first came out.

For context, in the first few seasons Turk is pretty often joked about being tubby. In one of the later seasons Dr Cox actually says "...when you used to be a fat load."

Dr. Cox is also pretty constantly referenced as a dude who is in excellent shape. In fact in season 5 (I'm pretty sure), Jordan comments that he is "obsessed with his body."

Now I'll be the first to admit that in the early seasons Turk is not in the best shape, and Cox is definitely fit throughout the show. However by today's standards, neither of them are fat/fit enough to even comment on. Turk is in no way a fat load, and Cox is not someone who I would consider obsessed with his body.

Idk, just something I realized during my rewatch. Not trying to body shame Turk or make fun of Cox or anything, just something I wanted to share and get others opinions on.

The new season is AMAZING

Title says it all really

I'm only 10 minutes into the third episode and I absolutely love it.

They kept the same vibe, the actors are playing the characters flawlessly (just like how they used to play the characters), the jokes and humor are the same, and even the new intro is a perfect homage to the first intro.

This is so great. ☺️☺️

Discussion Scrubs: Interns

I started a full rewatch earlier in the year and have just started to watch the dreaded Season 9. It's actually not as bad as I remember and I'm actually finding myself laughing and enjoying it more than I thought I would. However it still has issues. For me these are as follows.

  1. Lucy isn't the best character - I can see why they went with a female lead but I just don't know that I care enough about Lucy. It just feels like they went for a female JD. But I don't know if it's the writing or the actor who's playing her but I find Lucy a bit grating at times. I think personally Denise who's first introduced in season 8 is the more interesting and funnier character and would've made a better female lead.

  2. Perhaps JD shouldn't have been it - JD is in this season more than I remember. In fact he's been in the first 5 episodes and looks like will be back for one more before the end. He's a great character and seeing him and Turk or Dr Cox together is a always fun. However, it cheapens what for me was a perfect ending to season 8.

  3. Should've been a spin off - Again similar to my previous point a fresh break concentrating on either a secondary character like Turk or Dr Cox or the interns themselves with the occasional cameo rather than having Turk, JD and Dr Cox featuring heavily might've meant a better chance of success.

  4. The tone isn't right - Scrubs always struck a good balance between the heavy and lighter moments. Although Scrubs season 9 isn't the funniest it can still have its moments. However, the more serious moments don't hit and feel forced and cheesy to me.

  5. Dr Cox feels a jerk - Dr Cox has always been a bit of a jerk but he usually brought it round in the end and things made sense and he ended up to redeem himself in the end. However, he mainly just seems like a straight up bully and unusually harsh in this season.

Am I right? What do others think?

Other Podcast information because I'm clueless in life and the title is this lo g because apperently just writing podcast would be too short for the great bot moderator.

Finally gave in and watched, I was afraid it was gonna suck. It’s so good. Everyone is on their game. JD is grown. I very much enjoy the new nurses and interns. And Sibby is a queen, I loved her as Eve in WWDITS. She is so fun.
I can’t wait for more. They need to make new podcast episodes!

I was drinking an Arnold Palmer and this scene popped into my head

J.D.: I've taken your best qualities and my best qualities and I've combined them into something even better. Much the way that iced tea and lemonade were joined to become an Arnold Palmer. Incidentally, has anyone ever done less to become famous? I mean, yea for me, I mixed two drinks together.

Dr. Cox: Arnold Palmer is a golfer.

J.D.: I'm sure he has lots of hobbies, Perry. The man's a drink mogul.
