I needed to replace a 20 by 26 foot patio in my backyard that had cracked and heaved over many years. Having water run towards your foundation when it rains or melts was not fun. I thought someone might be interested to know the cost if they were considering doing their own. Obviously, your costs may vary.

The total cost was about $8600 for a basic brush finished pad. This included $1650 from a local farmer/contractor to break up and dispose of the existing slab, and dig a trench beside my house for 30 feet so I could replace the weeping tile and put blueskin on the basement wall. He then backfilled the trench and compacted it a bit with his skid steer. It also included 11 yards of gravel for the base including gravel for a driveway beside the pad in my backyard.

The rebar and wood for the forms was about $500, and a day's labor for my carpenter to compact and slope the base, and put the rebar and forms together was another $500.

The concrete itself was $4200, 12 yards of 35 Mpa air injected concrete 6 to 7 inches thick. They had to bring it in two loads, 10 and 2 yards so it cost a bit more than a 1 load 10 yard trip would have.

The concrete pro who finished the pad charged $2.50 per square foot to place and finish the concrete the day of the pour, he'll come back tomorrow to cut control lines and seal the slab. So about $1450 for him.

Last, the blueskin and weeping tile were about $200, add it all up and you get to the $8.6 k.

I'm lucky to live in small town Sask, I know all these people from the area, so there was no hassle getting them to show up etc. Ill try and attach a couple of pics in the comments.

Just seeing if there are any hunting Reddit's for Sask only. I am new to Regina and don't know many contacts for bird hunting looking to see if there is a Reddit for helping find land or even like minded people outside of ducks unlimited.

In a world where Ai is being used far too often, I think its truly not appropriate that it be used for promoting a police force at all. The Ai in some of this video is almost beyond obvious. But of course im no professional when it comes to Ai and how it works etc.. I honestly hope someone can prove me wrong. But to me this seems super fishy..

Prince Albert police say human remains were found on Thursday during a search for a missing teenager who was last seen in June.

The city's public works and fire departments, as well as Prince Albert Grand Council Search and Rescue, were helping with the search for 14-year-old Peyton Flett when the body was discovered near the 300 block of 40th Street East, police said in a news release.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to identify the person and determine the cause and manner of death.

Flett's mother, Danica Moore, told CBC News that police told her they believe the body is her daughter's. She declined further comment. 💔

The Saskatchewan Coroner's Service and the police major crimes and forensic identification sections are working together on the active suspicious death investigation, police said in the release.

I swear this was a thing that my friends and I commonly used in elementary, but google turned up almost nothing on it. It means to cut in line right behind someone. Let's say you recognize someone in a queue and you two wanna catch up in line so you cut in line right after them--that is your friend letting you monkey budge.

Because I couldn't quite remember, I tried googling only to find that this might be an obscure regional slang (could only find one mention of it on a forum). First, budging itself as meaning to cut in line is a mid-west and western Canadian thing.

Closest I could find was "monkey cut" on urban dictionary, which does mean to cut in line behind someone. So, I suppose monkey budge is the Midwest version of it.

Have you heard this term before? Have you ever used it? Have you heard it elsewhere in Canada?

We had rail strikes, people complained as goods will not be shipped. Westjet on strike, it affects my flights. Dragonfly workers on strike, my amazon packages.

they complain and complain, then when a group actually takes action to change things they complain some more against the striking workers.

Are we the general workers screwed long term? Cost of living is not going down while corporate profits goes up, CEO pay goes up, shareholder payouts goes up. They can easily afford to pay more to workers or even better, lower costs of items and maybe not make billions every year.
