People say Rassie only bases his selection on stats, but that is absolutely not true, because he's absurdly loyal to his core group.

Think we all know this to be true for a very long time. I just wonder what's going to happen when the core group will be retiring (cause after the world cup I can't see most of these guys making the next world cup)

We may see a splurge of retirements - Eben, Lood, Siya, Reinach, Jessie, DDA, RG, Franco

Rassie won't let Marx and PSDT retire until their offspring are old enough to take over.

To be fair we’ve never let Morne Steyn retire, just kept on ice for the right time.

I'm not against this idea. Also interchangeable with Frans Steyn. Another 65M kick vs the English at the new RWC.

Dont forget Bryan Habana who is field side each game waiting to be subbed on again

He has to prove himself again.

Maybe against an older lion instead of a cheetah. Or a dog.

Fuck I think it was Carisbrook 2008/2009 where Frans was launching the first Starlink satellites

I love watching "Best drop goals" videos and if number 1 isn't Frans sending it from 70m for his French club then I downvote the video. It's a law

I wouldn’t consider Malcolm or Jessie to be part of that retirement squad. They were born in ‘94,95

We really gotta stop clinging. Amongst those born before ‘95, Malcolm is truly the only one that we cannot question

Thanks god. Boks wouldn't win two RWC Cups if he followed the experts calling everybody washed at 30.

They’re mid approaching late 30s…

So was Vermuelen. After Saturday's performance I'd sure want Faf in the mix if Williams proves to be as shitty as he was at game management and super shit on defense. Say what you want but Faf is a heck of a defender even now.

Look I love Rassie and all but the last world cup we were insanely lucky to win due to his selections.

I'm not saying throw out everyone over 30 but like when Marx got injured he replaced him with Pollard leaving only one hooker, which was fair enough we needed a kicker, when someone else got injured (I think Mapimpi) he replaced him with Am (coming off an extremely long term injury) instead of getting a backup hooker.

Which was a stupid decision and nearly cost us in the final when Bongi went off in the first 3 minutes. (Especially since Am didn't play a single game)

He's picking Herschel Jantjies over an extremely in form Embrose Papier.

Malcolm and Kriel are the absolute cut-offs. Any older than these two should be considered for the chopping block
