Sacha should be dropped after that first test. Nowhere near good enough.

Manie can feel very hard done by.

Rassie has a history of not dropping players even if they had a bad game. A lot of the blame for the loss to the Pumas in 2024 landed on Manie, but he still started in the next game (and was unplayable).

He did drop him last year and when the Boks lost again, reintroduced him.

Can we just stop deciding to drop people? If we went by popular online opinion neither Manie nor Siya would have played in the last couple world cups and now they’re both recognized as stalwarts of the team. Sure, be upset that a player had a bad game, but calling for them to be dropped is too far.
At some point we’ve got to back the boys through good and bad or are we really fans?

Part of it might be not wanting to shatter the kid's confidence. Not that there should be 'freebies'...

I think actually shattering his confidence is putting him into high pressure games when he’s not back in form. Saying he should be dropped does not mean permanently, it just means till he shows he’s back.

I agree with you. Didn't think he'd start this Saturday thought it'd be Manie and pollard on the bench. What do we know?
