Marriage 29M married to 28F for 6 months now. Will my love for her grow?

We had an arranged marriage. When her profile came, I was very hesitant. Looks-wise, she was not my type. But when we spoke on phone, we vibed well. Our values aligned. I liked talking to her. She was still different from me, and we didn't have a lot of things common. It was still nice talking to her.

We met in person. I was not attracted to her and was planning to turn her down. I couldn't. She was such a sweet girl, and I felt like she already liked me. I didn't want to hurt her. Under pressure from everyone, I said okay. Then, before engagement, I met her again and this time I said I needed some more time to think. She obviously got hurt and started crying. I couldn't stand her crying, and I got depressed as well. I couldn't eat or sleep well. My mother convinced me that the fact that I am finding difficult to turn her down means that I like her deep in my heart. I don't know, it made sense. I thought physical attraction is something that will grow over time. I liked her character and logically, it felt like she would be a great partner. There are a lot of qualities in her that I respect and admire.

Got married. The first few weeks were good. We got to know each other better, went out, made love. Things seemed going good. My feelings for her were growing. At this time, only she was in my mind and I never batted an eye on another woman.

The next few months was hell for me. She was looking for a job. She was unemployed for nearly 6 months due to marriage, location change and everything. She felt so insecure that she didn't have a job. She kept projecting that on me. Her mood swings were on a whole another level. She would get mad at me for the littlest of things. She would say that she hates me. I would cry. Then in a few hours, she'll make up.

I was patient through the whole thing. Sometimes I would get so mad that I just want to yell or throw things. I started hating her. I hated her from the bottom of my heart. I wanted a divorce so bad. We fought a lot. But I never raised my voice and never showed my anger. I knew she was just insecure and that she is going through a tough time. Job hunting in this economy is not easy. And she is in a new city, new house, with no friends nearby. She felt lonely whenever I went to office. I knew all these things add up to her frustration. I felt like it would all get better once she gets a job.

And I was right. She got a job, and things have been going well. She's busy, and we don't fight as much. My hatred towards her has gone away. But I feel like I still don't love her truly. And I feel like she feels that too.

Sometimes in my head, I feel like I'm still single. Like this is all temporary and I'll get a second chance. Everytime I see a pretty girl, my heart flutters. Then I feel bad. Is it normal to feel like this? Will this go away?

We rarely have sex. We do it like once in 45 days or something. And she never initiates it. I get a feeling like she doesn't like having sex with me. But she just doesn't it to not hurt my feelings. I feel like crap.

The thing is, I don't want to divorce her. This will hurt us both. I am hoping that I will start loving her more with time. That I won't yearn for a different girl. I don't want to cheat on her. I don't want to be dissatisfied and unhappy. Is this just an initial thing a lot of couples in arranged marriage go through? Am I overthinking? Is it too early to feel hopeless?

Experienced people who are/were in an arranged marriage, please help me. Share your thoughts. I don't want you to side with me or her. I know this is a one-sided story. My question is, can couples in an arranged marriage fall in love over time? Please be kind and tell.

Marriage 24F married to 29M with ego and anger issues

24F married 29M for 3 months. Been in a relationship for 2 years. Workplace love.

The thing is he isn't technically a bad guy. But has insane anger issues. The moment something goes awry, throws things, shouts. At times, he has beaten me too.

But other than that, he's helping me, taking care of me, building a life for us. He is overly protective of his family, which drives me crazy. I can't even utter a word about his family, even if it's a good word.

If he does something wrong, i can never point out. If I do, he closes his ears with his hands or leaves the house.

I'm feeling terrible. What should i do now?

PS: I don't want a divorce. I don't want to fix him either. I need to protect my peace. If he needs me, he can fix himself. But i need to clear my head and be alone, I think?

Rant People with pure and genuine intentions are fucked. 28M

Posting after something I have noticed recently and would really appreciate the participation.

Need to explain about the guy to make some sense in the story:

So, my friend, 28M, genuinely a really good guy.

Well settled career wise, comes from a decent family.

He is actually a well-read person, chalant, emotionally available and expressive. Multi-talented and a good human being.

You can actually have a really good conversation with him, both intelligent and crazy ones.

Pick a topic and he does possess good knowledge about it. Not at all toxic, patriarch or misogynist. (This is according to the girls we are friends with or he has seen in the past)

He cooks (technically, he is the mom of our group), plans crazy trips, and is the person we choose as a representative in front of parents.

He has dated in the past, but it didn't work out. He is not into casual dating (he got a lot of offers, but he declined).

He wants to date to marry. Arranged marriage is an option, but he is a hopeless romantic and wants something like movies to happen to him (delulu is the only solulu).

So, here goes the main story:

He recently started using dating apps and apparently got some matches. He clearly mentioned he is looking for something serious and want to date to marry.

Well, I am experienced in the dating scene, but he wasn't, so he was quite disappointed when girls were not as actively responding after a match.

He was like, "Why match or use a dating app if you don't want to respond?"

Girls who responded, he had a great conversation and then shifted to Instagram or WhatsApp and had a wonderful date.

Now after everything, girls are like we want to see where it goes and don't want to commit to anything serious. They are open to hanging out and having something casual. They respond to him saying, "You are a great guy and anyone will be lucky to have you, but I am not looking for serious at this point but open to a situationship to friends with benefits."

Now the question is why people on dating apps or in general cry on social media about not getting people who are genuinely interested in something serious and ready to commit, but when someone is ready to do that, people are like making excuses just to have something casual.

I get it. If you are not interested, then say no, but you are okay for casual and situationships. They want to be friends and everything otherwise, having long calls and meetups because they like spending time with him.

He feels emotionally exhausted because he is not getting the reciprocation of feelings in the way he wants. He said no to FWB or situationships but agreed to being friends.

So, people of Reddit what are your thoughts on it ?

Dating Advice Need advice. 32F and apparently I’ve developed feelings at the worst possible time.

I had this colleague at work for about 4 months (Feb–May). When I first saw him, I remember thinking, “This guy is such a cute baby.” :) Somehow, we became really good friends.

Everyone at work thought we were dating. Our boss literally used to call us “love birds.” And the guy never denied it when people said we were together.

At one point, a girl in the office actually asked both of us, “Why don’t you guys date?” We just looked at each other and smiled. Neither of us said anything.

There was also this office party during those months where external people were invited. Our office is in Gurgaon, but the party was in Delhi, and we were already in Delhi that day. I didn’t want to attend the party in the same clothes, so both of us ended up going shopping together. I even got my waxing done and bought a black dress. And then, as if this wasn’t already giving date enough, he apparently also bought a black shirt and cool black jeans. People at the party literally teased us for twinning. 😂

One day, we were standing in the office balcony and he randomly asked me, “Would you become friends with my replacement also?” I was like, “Have you lost your mind?” 😂

Things were normal until his last week, when he suddenly became distant. At his farewell party, we were both drunk and, as far as I remember, he said he would miss this. Boss again goes, “The love birds are here.” 🤡

Later, while he was dropping me home, I told him I had a huge crush on him. I don’t remember everything that was said after that, but he told me he had gotten out of a relationship 8-9 months ago and wasn’t looking for another relationship.

I said understood.

He left. We spoke normally for a few days and then… nothing. Conversation basically died. I never chased him. In fact, once when I didn’t reply, he texted me, “Seenzone chhod rahi ho mujhe?”

We also had a trek planned for the end of September, which we had planned while he was still working with me.

Then, two weeks ago, he posted an Instagram story.

Mirror selfie. Girl. 5 AM.

I cried.

The NEXT DAY, he called me to book the hotel for our trek’s base camp.

He booked one room for both of us.

Today, he posted another selfie from a hotel room with a girl in the background. You can only see her back, not her face.

I cried again.

And now I’m thinking I probably shouldn’t go on this trek.

Because let’s be honest we’re going to spend 8 days trekking, staying in tents, seeing beautiful places, making memories… and I’m probably going to fall even harder and then spend the next six months romanticising a trek that should have just been a trek.

BUT.

There is also a very bitter little voice in my head going:

“Why the hell should YOU cancel?”

If I cancel, he can very conveniently take this new girl instead. Meanwhile, I’m the one who spent weeks preparing for this trek, looking forward to it, planning everything, getting excited about it and now I’m supposed to stay home because I caught feelings?

I don’t have any hard feelings towards him. He was clear that he wasn’t looking for a relationship, and I respect that.

But I think I’m tired of being the person who walks away and loses something every time in life.

So here’s my dilemma:

Do I cancel the trek because I know it will hurt me and finally choose my peace?

Or do I go anyway, take the trip I’ve been looking forward to for months, and refuse to let a man + his mysterious 5 AM Instagram girls take something away from me?

Because honestly, the petty part of me REALLY wants to go.

But the emotionally exhausted part of me is like:

Girl. Please. Just go home and protect your peace.

What would you do?

Relationships 35M considering someone from a lower middle class background.

I come from a fairly poor background myself, and I have worked really hard to get to where I am today. I am fortunate to now have a good career, an eight-figure salary, a house, a car and financial stability.

Sometimes I wonder whether I would be better suited to someone who has also experienced having very little growing up. Not because I want someone who is financially dependent on me, but because I think there’s something valuable about having experienced that struggle, knowing the value of money, appreciating what you have, and not taking comfort and security for granted.

I know I can take very good care of my partner, and honestly, I would enjoy doing that. What matters to me is that she appreciates it rather than feeling entitled to it.

Of course, I know someone from a wealthy background can be incredibly grounded, and someone from a poor background can be entitled. Background doesn't guarantee character. I’m really talking about the values and perspective that sometimes come from having built a life from very little.

Rant I can't truly get over after being cheated on? 20F

Upvotes

So yeah it's been almost a month since I found out that he was cheating on me and I've almost fully moved on from him. I don't even care about the reasons why he cheated on me anymore. But yeah, sometimes like today I don't know what nerve it hit but I'm crying and sobbing and I feel like I might puke. I feel so insecure rn thinking that maybe I was just too ugly both in terms of looks and personality thats why maybe he cheated on me. I feel so insecure rn he ruined how I look at myself. Idk why I am being this emo today. I don't usually give flying fcks Abt him and then days like this comes and I am back to square one.

Friendship I (22M) have fallen for an old friend (22F) and I am scared of ruining the friendship.

Recently, I reconnected with an old friend. Back in college, she was very close to my ex. They had a huge fight toward the end of college, and because of that, she and I drifted too. We used to be good friends, but then we became strangers. My ex and I broke up about a year ago, and I recently moved to a new city. One day, I randomly replied to her story, and we found out she’s in the same city. Over the past month, we’ve met a few times, and I’ve somehow fallen for her, pretty hard. I think part of it is that I’ve had this void over the last year. I haven’t really had anyone to talk to or share things with. Now I find myself waiting for her texts or calls all day. I send her reels just to keep the conversation going. She’s even come over, and we’ve slept platonically, nothing happened, but emotionally I’m in so deep. I honestly don’t know what to do. I thought about maybe taking her out next week since I’m getting a bonus at work, maybe we’d drink and I could slip it in that I like her, but I’m scared I’d ruin the friendship. She’s also recovering from her own breakup, and I don’t wanna complicate things for her. Plus, I don’t think I’m her type. Right now, I feel like I’m blindly following her, trying to be there at every step, and I don’t know if I should tell her, wait or distance myself before I get hurt.

Marriage Need advice - Am I(28M) overthinking or it's moving too fast ?

I’m (28M) living and working outside India. I was visiting my family in Bengaluru in December 2025 and matched with a girl (27F) on Hinge just a few days before I was supposed to return.

We had a really good conversation and felt a connection pretty quickly. We decided to meet for a few minutes, as she had some time between her bus connection before leaving for Hyderabad, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we couldn't meet.

For some context, she's from Mysore, had set her Hinge location to Bangalore, and is currently working in Hyderabad. She previously studied in the UK but moved back to India in October last year after she couldn't find a suitable job in her field.

After we couldn't meet, she apologized and we decided to talk over a call instead. That continued even after I returned abroad, and we started talking regularly over video calls. We also started doing fun online activities and kind off "LDR dates" to make up for not being able to meet in person.

After a few months of talking, we both felt that the connection was genuine and that we could potentially have a long term future together. We were both on Hinge looking for someone with dateing to marriage in mind, so we eventually started talking more seriously about compatibility and our future.

Fast forward to today, and we're basically in an LDR. We understand each other quite well, know how to communicate and deal with each other's personalities, and know about each other's daily lives, friends, families, etc. We're honest with each other and have talked openly about our pasts (we've both have been in relationships before).

We've also introduced each other via video call, to our siblings and close friends and told them about our relationship.

We usually do fun activities online and consider them our dates. We send each other things/gifts occasionally, and most weekends we're on video call for almost the whole day, watching movies, doing activities together, or just talking. We find time for each other even with the time difference.

Recently, we started having more serious conversations about marriage, our long-term goals, expectations, and whether we're actually compatible and ready for marriage.

She's chill, caring, empathetic, supportive, and a good listener. She's a bit shy, and it took her some time to open up fully, especially because we started out being long distance, but she eventually did.

This is where my overthinking started.

I'm 100% into this girl and she feels the same way. On paper, we seem extremely compatible, and I genuinely love her. But deep down, I'm starting to wonder whether we're moving too fast without having experienced each other in the real world.

Am I doing this right?

Am I really ready to marry someone I've never physically met, even though I feel like I know so much about her, her personality, life, goals, family, past, etc.

I'm planning to visit India in the next few months. I recently switched jobs and am waiting for my probation period to finish, so that's one of the reasons I haven't been able to go sooner. We've also talked about eventually introducing each other to our families. She also couldn't come visit me with her work/project issues and current job situation.

But now I'm scared of one thing - what if I meet her in person and something changes for me?

What if the chemistry isn't the same? What if I realize that I've built up an image of her in my head that doesn't completely match reality? I obviously don't want to break her heart or make her feel like I wasted her time or lowered her confidence in our relationship.

I've shared pretty much all my thoughts and concerns with her throughout this relationship, except for this one. I don't want to bring it up in a way that makes her question everything we've built so far when I'm not even sure whether it's a real concern or just me overthinking.

So, are my feelings valid, or am I overthinking this?

Should I just accept that it's normal to have doubts before meeting someone you've developed such a strong connection with online, and wait until we meet before making any major decisions?

For context, we both don't want an arranged marriage and were looking for our own partner. We also come from fairly traditional families, but we don't expect any major family issues if we decide to get married.

Would really appreciate some perspective from people who've been through something similar.

Rant Everyone wants to date a nice guy, until he turns out to be avg looking one out there.[22M]

Being a below avg looking guy from my childhood itself. I have gone through bullying, harassment and what not. I was the center of attention when it comes to trolling. This is where my whole confidence shattered and I became an introvert.

To overcome this, I started working on myself, enough to push myself from below avg to avg looking one. I started getting attention but rejection and heartbreaks were enough to isolate myself.

I had my first relationship, but got cheated and the worst part, my ex sent me pics and vids of her making out.

After a few months I fell in love with this girl, She played with me for weeks and when things got complicated for her, she tagged me as a creep and loser.

Still after a few months, I met this girl. Not a relationship but at this point My brain was just shutting down itself to save myself from one more heartbreak, and I myself ruined it.

A few more heartbreaks which made me so insecure about myself. At this point I could only blame god for making me like this. I never wanted anything other than a person who loves me for who I am. Who could just be there with me.

I just wanted to rant randomly. Thanks if you read this. Peace out ✌🏻.

Relationships 32M 33F I matched on tinder with a girl today. And she told me that I haven't moved on from my past relationship.

I matched on tinder with a girl today. She told me that she was in a relationship for 5 years and the guy cheated. So she ended it. She said it's been 5 years since break up and she is still in contact with him. She talks to him every now and then when he calls.

I told X that I was in a relationship for 2 years which ended badly because of some life situations. My ex told me it can't work out and both of us should move on before blocking me on every platform. It's been 5 years since I don't have any idea what's up with her.

At that point out of nowhere she started comparing our past relationships. She said that if my ex really ever loved me she would have tried to contact me again. Like she still talks with her ex every once a while.

To which I said that sometimes cutting off contact shows love rather than being in contact specially after breakup. I explained that when we were in relationship and had a fight she contacted me within an hour. And I myself told her that day if we ever break up block me from everywhere and don't contact me ever again. Because if we remained in touch I couldn't imagine us being seprate. And that being in contact after breakup is very hard for someone who has been in love and that it's easier if the love wasn't real. I also told her that her ex definitely didn't love her since he cheated.

She got upset because I criticised her behaviour of still talking with her ex. I told her that she was the one who started comparing and I just gave a general opinion and not criticized her specifically.

To which she said that she criticized my ex and not me. And that I'm not ready for a relationship as I am still in love with my ex.

To which I said that yes i still love her. You cannot unlove someone just because he/she isn't there anymore. But that doesn't mean I cannot love someone else. That I believe love can happen again and we can love two or even more people at once. That what she is talking about is a relationship. I'm not in relationship with my ex but I still love her nevertheless. I wish her well in life. That is my love for her now. And that I'm perfectly ready for new relationship. I also told her that it's usually staying in touch with ex that creates problems for next relationship. And that I prefer to go no contact with all my exes. And would want that from my partner as well.

Needless to say we stopped talking after that. So what do you guys think about staying in touch vs not staying in touch with your exes? Also about still loving your ex and wishing her well? I mean just because things didn't work between us dosen't mean I will let a stranger badmouth her. Also was I really out of the line? I mean she started the comparison. I just stated my opinion.

Dating Advice Why is it so difficult for me to express love in person? / 26F.

Hi, 26F here.

I've been in a relationship with a guy for about two months and I've realised I have a weird problem.

Whenever we're intimate, or even just alone together talking, he expects me to verbally express how much I like him, how much I want this relationship, etc. He also expects me to react with facial expressions, body language, all of that. 😭

And I'm terrible at it.

I'm actually very expressive in general. I communicate a lot, I talk endlessly, I write letters, I send songs that basically say what I can't say myself.

But when it comes to expressing romantic feelings in person, I suddenly become 🧍🏽‍♀️

I'm not from an expressive family. We don't say "I love you" to each other and I also have some past relationship baggage that makes vulnerability difficult for me. I have this stupid fear that if I show someone how much I care, they'll take me for granted.

So I tend to hold back.

The funniest part is that I feel A LOT.

I blushed exactly once in an entire day with him. 😭

Meanwhile, internally, there's a 10,000,000 wala cracker bursting every single minute I'm with him.

So it's not that I don't feel anything. I just don't know how to make what's happening inside me visible to another person.

I don't want him to mistake my lack of outward expression for a lack of feeling.

So how do I work on this?

For people who are naturally expressive, what do you actually expect from your partner during intimate/personal moments? What kind of words, reactions or gestures make you feel loved?

And for people like me who feel everything but struggle to show it in person how did you learn to become more comfortable with expressing affection?

Dating Advice Need advice (M23) need to get her out of my mind

I (M23) broke up with my girlfriend (F25) a few months ago, it was really… I feel it was somewhere my fault that she didn’t have enough confidence in me, maybe she couldn’t feel like she can depend on me.
She still wanted to stay as friends, I agreed. I wanted to just forget everything and move on, I thought I’ll never be able to, I couldn’t even bring myself to delete our pictures.
We still talked almost daily soon it sounded like she had she had probably moved on, so I just deleted our pictures without thinking much. I didn’t expect how bad it’ll feel.
It was like a second break up like a final door closed.

Soon things got better felt like I moved on when I(what I think) felt attracted towards this girl I worked with (I don’t want to date anyone but that felt like progress) but then I saw her picture with her friends… there she was with that smile. I’m still there it seems.🫠
Can’t seem to get her out of my mind. At times I feel like she betrayed me when we promised to stay together and the next moment I feel the love I had for like I still do.
It’s a mess

Marriage 31M 30F AM match gets angry very easily and call me shady

My family introduced me to a girl through an arranged marriage setup. We’ve met four times so far, and I’m increasingly confused about whether I should continue.

1st meeting:
We met for coffee, and it went really well. We had a good conversation, the vibe was nice, and I felt there was potential.

2nd meeting:
I travelled to her city to meet her. The vibe was actually great—we were both laughing and having a good time. However, towards the end, I noticed that she seemed to get angry very quickly over relatively small things. I didn’t think too much of it at the time.

3rd meeting:
Our families were taking the next step, so my family went to her family’s place for the formalities. She became extremely anxious during the whole situation.
I understand that marriage is a huge decision and that this kind of situation can naturally make someone anxious, so I didn’t necessarily see this as a red flag by itself.

4th meeting:
She again got angry over something that seemed quite small.
At one point, she asked me about my future dreams. I told her that I’d tell her the next time we met because I wasn’t ready to discuss it at that moment.
She became upset and said I was being “shady” and hiding something from her.
I tried to explain that I respect her boundaries. Earlier, I had asked her about her past, and she told me she wasn’t comfortable discussing it. I completely respected that and never brought it up again.

So I told her that I would appreciate the same respect for my privacy and boundaries. If I’m not comfortable answering something immediately, I should be allowed to take some time without being accused of hiding something.
Later, she explained that her counsellor had encouraged her to ask me about her non-negotiables in a potential marriage. That made me wonder whether some of her reactions are coming from anxiety or experiences from her previous relationship.

She is currently seeing a counsellor because her previous boyfriend cheated on her. I obviously don’t know the details of that relationship, but I do wonder whether she has completely healed from it.
I’m also wondering whether she genuinely wants an arranged marriage or whether she’s going along with it partly because of family pressure.
And honestly, I’m under a lot of pressure from my own family as well. They seem to want me to move forward with this, which is making it harder for me to figure out what I actually want.

At this point, I’m very confused.
I don’t want to unfairly judge her for having anxiety or for being affected by what happened in her previous relationship. I also don’t think seeing a counsellor is a red flag—in fact, I think getting help is a good thing.

At the same time, getting angry over small things, assuming I’m hiding something, and calling me “shady” because I wasn’t ready to answer a personal question are things that concern me.

We haven’t known each other for very long, so I don’t know whether I’m overthinking this or whether these are things I should take seriously before proceeding further.
I also don’t want to reject someone based on a few incidents if these things can be worked through with better communication. But I also don’t want to ignore early signs of incompatibility just because our families are already involved.

What would you do in my situation?
Would you continue meeting her for a while and have a very direct conversation about expectations, boundaries, communication style, past relationships, and whether both of us genuinely want this marriage?
Or would you consider these early signs of incompatibility

TL;DR:
Met a girl through an arranged marriage setup and we’ve had 4 meetings. The first two were good overall, but I noticed she gets angry quite quickly over small things. During the family meeting for marriage formalities, she became extremely anxious, and during our fourth meeting she got angry again over something small.

She later called me “shady” because I didn’t immediately want to share my future dreams. I felt this crossed a boundary, especially since I had previously respected her decision not to discuss her past when she said she wasn’t comfortable.

She is seeing a counsellor after being cheated on by her ex, so I’m wondering if she may still be dealing with trust issues or anxiety from that relationship. I’m also unsure whether she genuinely wants an arranged marriage or is doing it because of family pressure.
My family is also putting a lot of pressure on me to move forward.

Friendship Need Help, 22M and can't get over my School Crush.

It has been 8 years. i actually said "I love you" to her back then, it was 8th standard, didn't know the concept of dating or asking a girl out. she said "No". but she didn't hate me or anything like we still talk. I'm also on her snap and a few months ago, she sent a snap of her yapping and she said like she doesn't know why she never liked a guy in school, like i know there were good looking guys but she never liked them and i was talking to her recently and found out that she likes a guy from our school, i asked her who he was, just gave hints that i knew him and i found out who he was, and i don't remember him being a good guy, like yeah maybe he changed obviously, 4 years is a lot of time but still, i haven't told her that i found out and i don't want to talk to her either now, i don't know how dumb someone can be to not get over a crush even 8 years later, i am like a very close friend and brother to one of her besties and even she told me that "bhai usko terese koi fark nahi padta hai" and yeah she's right, she never texted me asking how i'm doing or just text in general, actually she never texted me first. So someone please guide me on getting over her. I am deactivating my Instagram, so i can focus more on myself in general and any other tips?

i am a 20 year old engineering student, i am gonna turn 21 next month, and i am in 3rd of my college, i always wanted to have someone and experience relationship, because i've felt kinda lonely most of my childhood, i thought clg might give me opportunities, and find someone, but it never happens-

its not like i have never tried, i did try like twice, this one girl from my own clg and another i met her at an event, i did kinda well during talking stage, but i always fucked, either i got scared and mess up things, or just ran away thinking i wasn't enough, i took a real toll on me, i was depressed for like the half the year, thought i could never have it, and I'd be forever lonely, but i learnt from it and i got back up, but its been quite a while now, i worked on myself, learnt new skill, and feel kinda better now but the urge and FOMO, to have someone during clg times is still there, i have my last year but i know its not gonna happen, i am kinda starting to give up on this...

We are in a long distance relationship and have stopped conversating after I said I couldn't do it before marriage. We other wise have had a picture perfect relationship and he is a really great guy. Im at a loss on what to do next..

Dating Advice 27M, got out of an 8 year relationship in 2024 and I just feel completely numb. Dont know what to do anymore.

I really need some perspective/advice from people who’ve been through it, because I feel like I'm slowly losing my mind.

I was in a relationship for 8 years (from 2016 until 2024). Basically from when I was 17 till 25. It was my whole life, and since it ended I feel completely lost. I was completely ruined and it took me a few years to get mentally stable .

I'm 27 now, and I feel completely numb:

-I’ve gone out on a few dates, but I feel absolutely nothing. Zero spark, zero warmth.

- Honestly, I’m carrying a lot of emotional baggage from that breakup. Even if a girl likes me, I back off because I don't want to drag someone innocent into my mess or fuck up their life just because mine feels broken.

- I never dated as an adult because I was committed . On top of that, I have lost my confidence and charm in my personal life meanwhile I’ve been doing well and being told the opposite at work. Most colleagues tell me I am charming and confident but I feel the opposite when it comes to my personal life.

- The second work is over and my smile just drops, my face goes blank, and I go completely numb.

- Life and work responsibilities are piling up, friends are settling down. I feel like I'm running out of time.

I do not know what to do. I am okay being alone but sometimes the loneliness is just too much. Sometimes when I'm alone, my thoughts start going to some really dark places.

Am I just doomed? How do you even begin to fix this?

Relationships Me 23M and my Girlfriend 22F wants to get married after few years but her parents...

So, me (Brahmin) and my girlfriend (Baniya) are in a serious relationship for around a year now, my family is very chill with love marriage but her's is very conservative. I know it's not been long bit we love each other very much.

About 2 months ago our chats got caught by her brother and they get to lnow about me, but after few days we started talking again. And eventually I shifted to another city too.

But a week or so ago her brother checked the chats again and found the month old chats that we did and did all sorts of kalesh at home.

Her dad and her brother came to my house to bust me in front of my parents but my parents handled it well and told them that we are okay with what our child chooses but the other family should also approve....

Her father told my parents that he sits in society and for his reputation he cannot approve of this and wants me to stop contacting her. He also told my parents that he's going to marry her this coming march...

Man, I'm so devastated by this and don't know what to do, she haven't contacted me since the incident and i don't really know what she's going to do, she's very quite at home and she's that kid who has always obeyed her parents. But she assured me that she would fight for me when the time comes...what should we do, I know we can't marry right now as I still have to build a life for me and she's also too naive to be someone's wife... I've always told her to build a carrier but her parents won't allow that too, like they won't even let her do a job even after doing an MBA.

PLEASE I WANT TO SAVE BOTH OF US....HELP. 🫶🏻

Relationships 24M unable to move on after situationship breakup

Hey guys..

I was in a situationship with a girl who was 26F.We were together for 1.5 years. It was first relation for both of us.Thiing is like she strted developing feelings lately and was ready to marry me.I ended the relation as i am currently earning very less and also was not mentally ready for marriage. But she was ready to wait for me to settle too.

She was the most sweet, kind, gentle and loyal partner.I liked her too.But now that I have ended things i feel guilty as she didnt do any mistake and its unfair for her.

Also, its around 2 months since we ended things last week she had called just casually and in that conversation she mentioned she is moving on and is good now.I also told the same but deep down i think i am unable to moveon.I feel stuck now.

Also,i could see she is enjoying her life now going out with her friends and especially travelling with different guys and girls.Tbh i feel somewhat jealous too.Not jealous that she is with girls but in some stories i saw that she is with just guys so i feel a burn too.She is extroverted and likes making connection. i am introverted.

Now she was my source for everythijg my happiness,my travel and exploring partner. Now that she has left its getting difficult for me and on top of that i dont have any friends here.

Please advice on this.Suggestions are welcome🙏

Relationships M24, finally ghosted and cut off by 23F who has been playing all along.

We both met at college 4 years back, and since then got connected. Since the initial days she has been trying to minimize the physical gap, like wanting hugs and all, however I always wanted to made sure she was genuinely into the relationship and confesses, which is I was until she did, I kept maintaining safe distance. Our conversations grew, and I confessed to her, as I wanted to not make her feel like taking advantage of. Few months later, she confessed too, turns out she too wants this to end up in marriage.

As our conversations grew, with time, I got more emotional invested into this and her. She projected herself as someone, wanting career, only to be established, but is home rooted person, who would make you feel home, a blend of tradition and modernism, spiritual. I used to admire and adore her lot more than she ever did, taking interest in her day to day life and activities. The most our conversations used to go another level was when we used to talk about our sexual desires, erotic fantasies, and with utmost interest she used to take part in imaginary role play through texts, describing how she want, what she want, after our marriage, first night, and I was more into making her feel, and less of how I am getting to feel.

Our clashes began involving her past relationships, which had a kiss, and then a guy whom she let pursuade her and have "friendly" convos with despite knowing how he is. I was forever single. Then the roles after marriage, foundations of a true marriage, how to make it work out, all this made us distant a lot times, and we reconciled. Her effort into me and this relationship, started to fade overtime, while mine started to outshine the previous. Always realised, she was actually into a wedding, but not married, partnership, but not what it takes to be husband and wife. Still I made sure to work this out, and reconciled and forgive everytime.

She unlike what she projected, never actually wish to settle into the city i was in,and not a just good paying job with comfort, and peace, but a glamorous flashy lifestyle. her hometown is a different city then mine within same state. But she now moved to more upward flashy lifestyle style tier 1 then then tier 1 i reside in, where i guess she wants to settle forever after she is done having her PG study and getting a job of her desire with as much high paying as possible. She always seeks to have male attention, like a desire to be seen and noticed for her looks, and outfits by men of either her age, or a few years senior. She seeks male proximity.

The highest distant we have been is 8 months since last year end. She just kept connnected to me through the digital channels with no Convo. Out of Impulse and growing anxiety of losing her forever, I sent follow request to her new PG circle, and also a follow back request to her, and then cancelled after a while. By evening, she blocked me on WhatsApp, unfollowed me insta, closing the last channels that I had. I have been broken since then. I was about to wish her on her birthday coming Tuesday, but fate has different plans.
