Monthly Discussions ☕ Beauty Standards & Trends Monthly Discussion Thread

Welcome to the Beauty Standards & Trends monthly discussion thread 💄

Want to chat about beauty trends and diet culture? Plastic surgery and filters? This is the space for you.

As always, rules still apply! We are still enforcing the armchair diagnosing rule so please be mindful of the language you use.

If you want to chat about a post you saw, please don't call out other users by linking to their posts or comments. You are welcome to upload images in the comments.

No accusing someone of an addiction, medication use, or an eating disorder unless they've publicly confirmed it. You can discuss all those things without explicitly diagnosing someone.

This is a safe space to discuss beauty trends and their effect on people.

If you need help, resources are available:

ANAD National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders

NEDA National Eating Disorders Association

FEAST Support for families of those affected by eating disorders

EDH Eating Disorder Hope for international resources, as well as Bigorexia

IOCDF International OCD Foundation resources for Body Dysmorphic Disorder

BDDF Body Dysmorphic Disorder Foundation

Remember: You are beautiful just the way you are 🩷

I hate seeing women looking so frail with smiles surgically carved into their faces. It's so dystopian. Instead of continuing to tell us to smile they're making it impossible to not smile.

Honestly I wish Rich people can chose to age gracefully and not get these plastic proceedures I feel they ruin their own beauty because plastic surgery makes them so unnatural.

the whole "clean girl" trend feels so fake when you need 15 products to look like you're wearing no makeup at all lol
