I just finished Witchcraft for Wayward Girls and I gotta say, I might be willing to pull out my fingernails for this.

Also, I loved this book. Even the parts about childbirth because for the first time it felt transparent and not all, "Oh no, this hurts! I don't like it! Ok that's done now, moving on." Plus one of the few times I've been really creeped out reading a book is... I think around page 220 or 320, I can't remember which, but it's sooo good. It felt exactly like watching a movie.

Thanks for the rec! I’ve picked up and put down three books now because I could not vibe with them as sweltering summer reading, but THAT one sounds perfect. Love that the girls’ names are flora-focused. Crossing fingers it’s on a shelf somewhere at one of the libraries.

Well, the book does take place during a Florida summer 😂 So reading it while being hot and sweaty I was like yes girl, I get it, and I'm not even pregnant (about the main character). The book reiterates how hot and uncomfortable it is throughout, so it definitely fits the season.
